Thank you for this video. However, I have a problem when I try to use Corona pattern mod. The problem is that the effect only appears when assigned to primary objects (Example: Box, Plane, teapot). When I create a Box from rectange shape > extrude, when assigning corona pattern mod, it does not give the same result. This case is similar when I draw a vase with Lathe modifer. Can you explain this problem to me and how to fix it? Thank you so much for this. This tool is really impressive
With Pattern (and Enmesh on V-Ray) being new, there aren't many created yet, which is why we provided some for download. Other than that it would have to be an internet search to see if any third parties out there have geometry suitable for tiling. We hope to provide more presets in the future, and ultimately to include those in Cosmos too like the Decal presets, but no promises nor date yet, sorry. Tom
im getting weird results and IR render pauses and black screens and i have a monster pc (ryzen 3970x with 256gb ram) -does the geometry need to be uvunwrapped?
Sorry, no, as it is a render time effect. Max is "unaware" of it and so cannot collapse it into geometry (and doing so would remove the benefit of using Pattern, which is that only the source geometry takes up any memory). Hope this helps! Tom
3ds Max is clearly not dead - it is and will remain an industry standard in many industries, including in the archviz field which is what Corona is specialized for. Whether you prefer Blender or not does not mean the other products are dead :) Corona is not being developed for other host applications because that would dramatically slow down the development of the engine, as porting to other hosts is a massive task, plus other complications unique to Blender due to its licensing, and we would rather continue advancing the engine for our large base of existing users than sacrifice that for porting to new hosts. Thanks! Tom
There are presets in the description, with more planned in the future. And not useless without presets, it is possible to create your own, the presets just speed things up :) Thanks! Tom
Amazing, but... Isn't this awful close to what the tissue add-on for Blender does/is..? The one the guy gave the whole big talk about at the blender conference like three or four years ago where he explained all the thinking and science behind it..? Yeah, I'm pretty sure someone at Corona knows what I mean... As a musician if I do something that was clearly inspired by someone else's work I consider it good form to give them a nod. Even if it's not technically required... 🤷🏽♂️
Software and hardware - technology in general - are not like music and other artforms. You don't see all car manufacturers giving a nod to the Model T ;) Tom

Thank you for explaining this thoroughly!
Glad it was helpful! Jake
That's amazing
That's wonderful :O
We are glad you like it :)
Awesome Jake. I just spent three hours making a complex patterned rug. Then my mate showed me this video. I could have done it much faster. Lol
Well now you won't ever have to do it again 😀
Well done
Wow thank you so much that really helped
Glad it helped. Jake
good

It sounds like you need a UVW map on your object. If it works with a texture then it should work with Pattern. Jake
Whats the impact to render times, I would be curious as to how this is processed and also if this could worth with a poxy mesh?
Very minimal impact as only the source mesh is loaded,
Where can we find more pattern presets for diffirent type of frabrics?

@@ChaosCorona thank you so much for clearing that up Tom
You are welcome! If and when presets pop up in Cosmos for Pattern/Enmesh, we'll be sure to let everyone know :) Tom

the base object needs to have UVs. If a texture looks good then so will the Pattern
With Corona Pattern if you collapse it will it be transferred to mesh?
Sorry, no, as it is a render time effect. Max is "unaware" of it and so cannot collapse it into geometry (and doing so would remove the benefit of using Pattern, which is that only the source geometry takes up any memory). Hope this helps! Tom
Where can you find these 3d patterns? it would be nice to implement them.

@@ChaosCorona does this presets works in higher version of corona? thanks man.
@@700pregator5 indeed they should :) Nejc
thanks alot but try to speak alittle bit slower ur accent is hard for me , but ur info is great thanks man
Thank you for the feedback, we'll keep that in mind for the future and apologies it caused you some issues this time around. Thanks!
Can provide corona render preset
Sorry, I don't understand the question here, if it is a question - can you clarify what you mean? Thanks! Tom
Fstorm GeoPattern was so good, they just straight up copied it! hah!
too many people expected and wanted it
why does corona not support blender, but dead platforms like 3dsmax?

Without presets useless thing tbh
