    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 месяца назад

      Thank you for your interest in the video and the scene! Unfortunately with this being an older video, we don't have the exact scene any more to share precisely what tone mapping is used, sorry. This is so old however, we can say it is nothing but the default controls, without even the ACES OT parameter which didn't exist back then, so the tone mapping stack was the basic one, in the default order, which means there wasn't much to adjust and it should be easy to get those same results easily and quickly without seeing what we happened to use here. Just some exposure and highlight compress is probably all it would take! Hope this helps! Tom

      Thank you for the kind feedback and glad you found it useful! Infinite water planes don't exist in Corona at the moment, so in the example here the plane is finite (just very large ;) ). Hope this helps! Tom

      Hmm doesn't sound right, are you sure you have the sun's visibility toggled to on?
      If that ain't it we'd suggest contacting support (support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) or hoping over to our forums (forum.corona-renderer.com/) and opening a thread there. Nejc

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад

      There's the "Textured" checkbox for the Corona Sun, which enables this effect. You will also find the colors you get there are greatly affected via choice of LUT, or use of the ACES OT checkbox, so feel free to experiment once Textured is enabled! Hope this helps :) Tom

    Sir I am using corona renderer for few years and i really like using it, Sir i use corona sky improved or realistic but i recently joined a company and they use raw and fake option in corona sun(i dont like the result i get with this option), but they say this option is better then improved or realistic option so what do you say which one will give more realistic result ? I hope you'll reply

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад

      The PRG Clear Sky model is the most realistic - but it's up to the artist which result they prefer, maybe realism is not what is required. The full details on the extra features and realism from the new model can be found at blog.corona-renderer.com/corona-renderer-6-for-3ds-max-released/ (and then the Corona 7 blog for improvements made to it, such as aerial perspective, and so on :) ). All that said, everyone is free to choose which one they like best, but the PRG Clear Sky is based on real data and gives more realistic results - whether that makes it "better" is up to the artist though! Thanks! Tom

    I use corona sky for the right light in my scene, but the exposure needs to be high. When that happens, the corona sky shines too much in the windows. A bad render results. Isn't there a ''visible directly'' option for corona sky?

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  9 месяцев назад

      Without seeing the scene this to me sounds like realistic behavior that photographs face in the real world as well.
      There are multiple remedies though.
      You can try lowering the sun's intensity (remember if you have a lower intensity and higher size you're practically creating an overcasty scenario).
      You can try different tone mapping options to control the highlights / blown out areas in your image. ACES OT is ON by default and that is a pretty good solution so if you still get "too much shininess" you'll probably have to tweak the lighting.
      Beyond that I'd suggest hoping over to our forums (forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php) and open up a thread where we can more easily have longer form replies :)
      Hope that at least somewhat helps! Nejc

    Awesome tutorial. It's amazing how the default Corona Sky setting happens to be exactly the right amount of light in the scene. When I create a sky, it's just always way way way too bright, 0.1 intensity is just enough. Same goes for the Corona Sun as well. Using 1.0 intensity in either will bleach the vegetation to bright white, creates a problem for an interior shot looking through the window etc. and everything outside the walls are pure white. Is there any setting should I change? Thanks in advance

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад +3

      Hi! Well, if you are in an interior, the outside seen through a window should be over exposed by either a little or even a lot, as this is what happens with real cameras in the real world. Artistic control is possible using visibility overrides, such as Direct (if not seen through glass) and Refraction (if seen through glass) where you can use the same HDRI or Sky map but passed through a Tone Map Control to avoid the exposure affecting it, or you can just place a different instance there of the HDRI or even a different HDRI or different Sky altogether and lower its brightness. For longer topics like this one, which could benefit from screenshots etc, it is recommended to ask over on the forums at forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php as YT is not so good for back-and-forth discussion, and doesn't allow sharing screenshots of setups etc. at all. Hope this helps! Tom

    Corona is really becoming better and better Very nice features, but your video is a bit deceiving, being the fact that you already started of on a preset scene. You will never get this good sunlight out of the box. If you start from scratch, then place a camera, add sunlight add the environment sky and hit interactive preview, you would get a completly burnt out preview.

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад +1

      TY for the kind words! The video isn't deceiving as such, more perhaps a little confusing on one small step - a quick adjustment of exposure changes it from being completely burned out, as the exposure settings are by default for interiors - a quick turn down of exposure and bingo you are looking at exactly these results :) Hope that helps! Tom
