As a long time Nashville musician and producer I'm always glad to see the Nashville Number System being promoted. Thank you for that. Unfortunately the scale you are using 1, 2m, 3m, 4, 5, 6m, 7dim is not the NNS.
This is a widespread misconception about the NNS. In the NNS all the chords of the scale are Major. There is NEVER a time when the 2, 3, or 6 are automatically played as minor chords nor is the 7 EVER played as a diminished. A number by itself in the NNS will ALWAYS be played as a basic Major chord. A minor chord must have a suffix attached as in 2- or 2m. Again, I thank you for what you are trying to do...may I suggest you research this further and get it right. Best to you!

So wait am I getting this right... You hold up 2 fingers to tell another musician it's a 2 chord... What do you hold up to show it's minor?

Here's a reference to what I explained. I don't know of any scale in existence that has all major chords so please send me some examples of what you are referring to.

@@guitartris8455 2 fingers down is minor. The reference you sent is incorrect. There are other praise chart organizations who also use this scale...THEY ARE WRONG!!! If you write a 2 on a chart, there is not one professional Nashville musician I have worked with for the last 50 years who will play that as a minor. Same thing for a 3 or 6. This has become prevalent in CCM worship music but it is not the NNS. What you are referring to is the Diatonic scale in which you must only use the notes in the scale to form the chords. In jazz and popular music the ii is typically played as a minor. This is also correct if you dive into music theory...In a Major key the supertonic triad (ii) is minor. BUT NOT IN THE NNS! Somehow over the last few years this false narrative about the NNS has gained traction and the problem is that there are many gurus trying to explain the NNS but they don't really understand it. In the NNS the 2 chord, 3 chord, 6 chord and the 7 chord are MAJOR chords. You seem to be sincere and trust me I'm only trying to help you understand the NNS.

Thanks for breaking it down. I'll have to do another video on it.
