I've owned several guitars, high-end and low end throughout my life. Last year, I acquired a special ordered Suhr Classic S HSS with a flame-roasted maple neck from Humbucker music. Sold every other guitar I've owned since. Sometimes it's best just to save up and get the guitar you've always wanted.

Another comment. I’d like to hear you turn the reverb down a little. I asked Tom Bukovac, a session musician in Nashville, how he sets up a guitar with an amp? He replied, until I like the tone/sound. Look him up on RUclips. I think you’re pretty good. Try playing more with your fingers on your right hand.

Love that too much gain is a pro and a con 😂 I've got a guitar like that

So, with the Les Paul change a couple things. With the neck PU try a 520-530k ohm pot. It will taper better. I’ve changed all four pots. I think I bought them from RS Guitarworks online The caps, well, I never heard much difference but I installed a .015uf in the neck and a .022uf in the bridge. Finally if you needed more improvement buy new PU’s but use your PU covers.

I actually have switched the pots and ... I can't recall the cap I used but I'll give it a look.
Great advice on the covers that's something I should have done years ago.

@@guitartris8455 tell you I’ve done a lot of research on Les Pauls. Really good pots are important. Big name guitarists look at the pots and then the frets the most. Typically the neck PU sounds muddy and needs to be corrected on many. I’m sure you know about the sound and tone differences of raising and lowering the PU’s. Then there is the amp and it’s settings. Anyway, try to get that LP setup. It would be nice to hear when you do and you’ll learn alot. I did.

@@scottbee501 I definitely will. I was thinking about swapping to bearnuckles. I'll have to do a video on that swap.

      Those are some great guitars!
I bought the Kurt Cobain for a friend once when I stumbled on it used in a guitar center.
I used to be have a jazz master by fano and I almost regret selling it but the scale of the JM always throws me off. It sounded incredible but it was like playing a baritone. So my brain didn't like switching guitars.

@@Mudhoney1991 yeah, my favorite thing about the jazzmaster type is that p90 sound even though they're not p90s in the jazzmaster very similar sound wise.

Those Suhr guitars have a big price tag & they feel crappy!

Who are these videos for? If they are for you that’s ok but this video is just not right. Regardless of “tone” being subjective, dude you’re missing something man. The surh guitar most likely has jumbo frets and a rolled edge on the fret board. That’s why it plays like butter. Your frets being steel have absolutely no effect on how it feels. Steel does have an effect on the sound tho so I’ll give u a half a point! You are touching the string and not the fret itself, ya know anyway, ya know. And I noticed you played scales only and nothing particularly musical. Which leads me to believe you are most likely at a different spot musically and are maybe looking out for different things. Those are all nice instruments and I’ve never played anyone of those brands that sounded as bad so it may be your audio equipment ur using my man. Keep on playing and find someone who you think sounds good and knows their stuff and you’ll start to figure more and more out.
I suggest finding a luthier who you know plays well and knows thier stuff, about Ampa too, and become buddies or something. I remember first starting yo work on my own stuff and started asking questions.
I guess what I’m getting at is if ur I’ll informed you should be called on it. It’s the only way to learn. Hope u didn’t come off sounding like a jerk.
    Good luck homie

Then I should point out that you are I'll informed about frets. They feel very different. Nickel is very soft and stainless steel is very hard. Nickel dents and gives under the strings changing the feel. Stainless does not.
I am a professional musician and one who owns a arguably big gear company. So ... I'll let that sit with you.
It's perfectly fine with me for you to disagree with my points but if you don't own the gear and haven't ever... I'd say you're probably not informed on it.
