Excellent comparison. For me the effects loop is what I care most about. I can put all my post gain pedal effects after both the preamp and power amp. Used in conjunction with an amp and cab switcher it gives me the ultimate studio set up.

I have both and before the 1.2 update for the OX, the TAE was the clear winner for PLAYING LIVE. In the studio, the OX box has always been the best unit IMO but now that we can footswitch delay and compressor for a solo boost, gigging with the OX is great. I would say that the midi control and maybe the amp channel switching capabilities of the TAE could make it a better device for some users who do rely on midi switching (I myself have used my morningstar controller to do this with the TAE and a couple other midi devices and it works great) but at the end of the day, you're still relying on 1 impulse response with the TAE and its extremely limited reverb/delay/eq capabilities where the OX cab simulation just sounds and feels SO much better and more natural, the speaker and cabinet and mic selection offer a better selection of sounds on the fly and the effects of the OX are light years better in quality.

I've owned both. MY Waza Tube Expander literally blew up and I was able to get a refund thank god. I'm now using the Ox with great success, it just suffers from crappy wifi connection issues with the app; that's my biggest complaint. Tone wise, I find the Ox superior. Featureset wise, the Waza wins hands down. You need to decide what is more important. For me, I don't gig, so I wanted the finest tone possible for my home recordings and for that I find the Ox the winner. If anybody wants to see my Waza videos just click my icon to go to my channel. Cheers!

I just heard of this amplifier not sure if you’re still getting the comments but I just ordered it too great demo love those tones and I love my Morgan MVP 23 and this will certainly be a welcome addition however, this head cost well more than the other combo, but it also definitely will fit right into my rig. I needed something with more gain And I will be switching between this and the MVP 23 and I love the fact that I get all my bedroom tones. I don’t know Joe Morgan you’re a genius and I appreciate that man because I’m making money with your gear and I thank you for building it for me because it pays my bills buddy. Thanks again for a great demo on this though. 5:35 5:40 5:41 5:42

Hello, dear friend, I have a question, maybe you can help me. I haven't been able to decide for a long time which is better for me whether to buy the waza amp or the ox box for home recordings. I am no longer appearing today, if you could recommend me, what do you think, thanks

I personally use PCs for computers and I like the options that the waza has. It also sounds great once you dive into the settings. That being said if you use Mac and just want great sound out of the box I'd probably go ox box.

I actually own one of these myself purchased it from guitar Center a couple of days ago I love it it’s a fantastic camp. I also have the MVP 23 and the 66 which it seems that most places have discontinued carrying I don’t know if he’s even making it anymore but I love all three heads And I love the power attenuation and if you like this so much why are you in such a hurry to talk about selling it already and any musician that’s gigging on a regular basis is spending every nickel they can on equipment lol and odds are the average gig musician at least on bar gigs before I started teaching and just doing bar gigs I certainly did not have a lot of extra money or rainy day money. Are you really talking to the average musician? I have 80 students that would argue that they don’t have extra money lol maybe the more advanced working musicians, but certainly not the ones getting started and not even the ones that sometimes have been playing 30 or 40 years man people don’t pay what it’s worth for you to be up there playing guitar until you have big records out there and I am a masters graduate from Berkeley believe me, I know music, and although I can afford this amp believe me, most of my students could not is all I’m saying and you have an opportunity either you really like the amp or you just took it to do the demo and plan to sell it for profit and that is more what it sounds like let’s just be honest with each other. Really thanks Nothing like buying it, puffing it up and convincing the people that watch this video to pay too much for it although they should be looking for a good 4:20 4:25 “ 4:08 4:14

Hey man. Sorry I just read through this. I play in a GB band in Boston. I still have this amp because most of the time I love it. But my taste changes constantly. I'm more into my bogner at the moment. To your point about Berklee, where I too attended. I think if that many people can afford that much on a degree that 80% of them don't end up using, they can definitely spend this on an amp that they'll love.

Been using one live for about a year and amount of compliments I've gotten on my tone has increased ten fold. Obviously this doesn't inherently give you better tone, but if you've got good gear, it allows you to dial in the exact tone you want send consistently use it. I'll usually play as a pedal platform amp with low volumes at home and when i'll get the chance i'll bring for small venue gigs. The tone that i enjoy playing for myself is usually a Les Paul with fuzz-od(just as a boost with eq)-delay(just a pinch). I like warm tones usually i do play blues and hard rock. The fuzz is diy kit it'so sweet no acid at all it's like a Ram's head 73 with tone cap mod, the od is a crayon of ehx got some nice features with the eq and it's very bluesy, and delay is a DD3 pretty classic. Hope you may help me thanks. And if you do think there would be better choice i am free to learn them. Sorry for the long text !! I bought my Boss TAE a couple of years ago, and use it all the time. After the early years of buying load boxes and power breaks that really sucked the tone, I got rid of them and just used to turn the volume down on my Fender 59 Bassman at gigs or at home. When the first TAE reviews came out I couldn't wait to buy one. It is exactly what I needed, to crank the amp and keep the volume down. The adjustable reactive load controls on the TAE front panel match the output impedance of whatever amp you are using, giving you the tone and thump of your amp at reduced volume levels. But also there's also the ability to connect straight into a DAW and record the exact sounds of your guitar through the valve amp. I don't bother with amp sims that take too much messing about to sound right for me. The effects loop sounds ok, but I never had one on my amps, so I don't use it. I just plug the pedal board into the amp input as if I was at a gig, and it sounds perfect. The built in 100 watt power amp could be useful for some I guess, if you don't mind lugging an extra 100 watt cabinet to the gig. There's heaps more features on this TAE which you can read about in the manual, which can be downloaded from the Boss website free of charge, in case you loose yours Haha.
