@@TheGamingGeezer Yuzu was shut down and it's not on emudeck anymore. Either download yuzu manually and add parser in steam rom manager or use ryujinx.
yes but yuzu and ryujinx have different approaches. ryujinx is more focused on accuracy so performance might not be the best. hope have could split two versions, like make a performance version as well.
Just got my steamdeck a few days ago. Following your tutorial to the T, (I've rewatched twice) but I have several issues stopping me from being able to open games from game mode, despite having 10 different roms loaded on Yuzu. 1) When I click on steam rom manager from emudeck nothing happens. I got around this by creating a shortcut directly to rom manager, but this is still strange. 2) When I toggle Parsers, if EmulationStationDE isn't on, i get an error message, "1 user configuiration(s) was/were skipped (invalid). I dont even have that emulator. 3) If i have EmulationStation and Switch Yuzu toggled on, only Emulation station images show up after parsing. if I turn on Every single toggle, I get a dozen or so emulators in the results, but no games whatsoever despite having so many roms (all of which fire up and run) loaded on Yuzu. Am I missing something?
It just works for me. I don't have emulation station installed though. Maybe it's conflicting? But steam rom manager not launching is a bad sign already.

Tutorial is great got me playing mk8 deluxe... But ryujinx was all I could find and sucks and now I've 2 app images for yuzu after 2hrs of searching and they both boot but don't install as a program and emu deck isn't helping things on that front either. Ready to swan dive out the window here 😅
@@GrownUpGamingGUG I managed to get it fixed. The newest version of emu deck you have to manually locate Yuzu. On top of that Yuzu needs firmware added to its dependancies manually AS WELL as for Emulation folders. The ". AppImage" file you have for Yuzu needs renamed from whatever yuzu file you can finally find when installing. And finally for my fellow mentally challenged individuals. Just double check your framerate limiter 💀😂
Thank you for mentioning that the keys and firmware have to be placed on the sd card in bios this was driving me nuts and no other tutorials i viewed suggested it

Not sure if you’ve figured it out already but something like this has happened to me loads. If you’ve used an external controller , make sure you change the steam deck back to the main control (from 2 to 1)

I just installed emudeck and there is NO EmuDeck icon on the desktop like yours. Just a bunch of random emulators. I even did a search for it and its not there. I can't find any information as to why.

When you run steam rom manager it should automatically close steam. Make sure that steam is closed completely (the steam icon on the taskbar gone). Other than that I don't have another way.
Hello, I am getting an issue when it comes to opening the Yuzu application, it says that the app image in applications or that there may be an issue with Yuzu installation. I saw that emudeck says that Yuzu was no longer installed bc of the settlement. What should I do now? Thanks for the great vid

So you open yuzu folder and place the firmware in nand folder and keys in keys folder? Do you also have emulation folder with bios and yuzu? You could place them there too. Try everything.
Do you know how to add Yuzu games to steam without Emudeck. I had a backup installer but I don't know what permissions I need to allow to make the shortcut
I'm not sure as I've always done it with a steam deck. It doesn't take too long. So waiting for your steam deck first shouldn't hold you back too much.
I downloaded the base game Mario Wonder 1.0 and learned I needed an updated version so downloaded 1.0.1 and I can't get that to show up on yuzu on the desktop. When I go to launch the game I'm stuck at "launching" on the switch screen

Why don't you say where do we get keys and firmware? it's in download folder so you downloaded it, i don't know where i can get the relevant ones at all, is it supposed to be download by emudeck?
Because that's copyright stuff. That's why emulators don't bundle with it. Official answer is you should dump your own firmware and keys from your switch.

I have a repack of Mario kart 8 delus just to tey this out, not sure what to do though to unpack it on the deck. Would i need to run the .exe folder with lutris or something then move it to roms?
the process is basically the same but when you install emudeck, select internal instead of SD Card. And the location of the "Emulation" folder will be on your internal hdd.
3:43 - I am following this tutorial with a brand new Steam Deck. Where do I get the firmware and keys from? You went into your downloads folder and had them. Mine is empty cus the steam deck is new.
Keys and firmwares are not just there when you install emudeck as it is copyrighted code of the console maker. If they included that code into their emulators the emulators will become illegal to use.
If you simultaneously press your controller buttons assigned in yuzu for switches "-" & "+" buttons. It'll have a pop up to confirm if you want to close that game, you don't have to click yes or no in popup, pressing button assigned as "a" button in yuzu for yes. You can do it pretty fast that way, pressing "-"&"+" then quickly tapping "a"
Yes you can create symlinks. Locate the nand folder location, drag the nand folder to your SD card and select 'move'. Then drag the nand folder from your SD card back to the original location but select 'link here'.
Any idea why launching games from Game mode shows only black screen? If I launch the game from Yuzu it works but from Steam game mode it doesn’t…. Black screen, and I can see an arrow if I use the touch screen or touch pads.
Im not really sure, but I think you should make sure you have the firmware, keys in the right location. Also the files names of the roms should be simple. Hope this helps.

Well I'm having a lot of trouble sitting up either Ruijnx or yuzu and I tried the installation of the two and I use the same image app an emu deck but still no matter what I cannot get it to run I already tried and change the firmware the license and it it still doesn't run

First you need to find out where the issue is. Is it the emulator compatibility, bad game file, game version, needs a patch or settings issue like you mentioned.
I'm a bit of a simpleton but where do I get the firmware files? I download and unzipped .rar files for the game, I'm just missing the firmware and keys

Any idea why when I push select on the SteamDeck the screen goes dark and the game stops as if paused. I know select and a or B is supposed to pause but I'm not pushing anything but select. Trying to unpause doesn't work with that key press either.
It is. Sadly the GameCube version isn't emulating at all well either so I was looking for alternative. Neither is good enough so I give up. Just took experience to buy the switch game second hand.
Almost! I got the keys and firmware in the correct folder but now when I add my game it won’t show up on the yuzu app image just like in your video at first. I closed and re opened and nothing.. I continued to parcing it but the image was wrong it’s for Mario wonder. Anyways I launched the steam app and everything seemed fine so I launched the game and then got a message that the nca has a bad header..

I followed this exact setup, and got a key not found after plugging it into the folder 😢
try putting them in both the yuzu folder and emulation folder.

I just create game shortcuts with steam rom manager and play from gaming mode. No need to mess with proton.

You can't. Need a rom dumper tool to backup your own games and that requires cfw.

Hey, how can you close the yuzu emulator? I had to reset my steam deck because I didn’t find how to exit the emulator

Any idea why launching games from Game mode shows only black screen?
If I launch the game from Yuzu it works but from Steam game mode it doesn’t…. Black screen, and I can see an arrow if I use the touch screen or touch pads.
Im not really sure, but I think you should make sure you have the firmware, keys in the right location. Also the files names of the roms should be simple. Hope this helps.
Hey @@GrownUpGamingGUG thanks so much for your reply 🙏. So quick. For whatever reason now it works. I had some issues with the buttons mapping and discovered that holding the menu button for 3 secs changes between gameplay & desktop mode.

Great video. How do i delete the game all together? Im trying to make room on my sd card and i cant delete unwanted games from the folder or the yuzu menu.
Delete the roms in the roms folder.
I went to rom>switch and right clicked the nps file and it wouldn't let me trash it even when I tried to drag it in the trash it wouldn't delete.
That's odd. Have you tried delete instead of moving to trash?
Well I'm having a lot of trouble sitting up either Ruijnx or yuzu and I tried the installation of the two and I use the same image app an emu deck but still no matter what I cannot get it to run I already tried and change the firmware the license and it it still doesn't run
this video show you how to setup yuzu with emudeck on steam deck. follow this video and you should be fine.

Open the yuzu folder and there should be something like nand/system/contents/registered folder. Put them there.

First you need to find out where the issue is. Is it the emulator compatibility, bad game file, game version, needs a patch or settings issue like you mentioned.

It might be an issue with steam rom manager creating the shortcuts. Double check it.

Any idea why when I push select on the SteamDeck the screen goes dark and the game stops as if paused. I know select and a or B is supposed to pause but I'm not pushing anything but select. Trying to unpause doesn't work with that key press either.
Or maybe it's just an issue with Mario 3d all-stars as I haven't any other games to test.

It is. Sadly the GameCube version isn't emulating at all well either so I was looking for alternative. Neither is good enough so I give up. Just took experience to buy the switch game second hand.

most of the time is the issue with keys. make sure the files are correct and put into the correct location. also check the roms.

Almost! I got the keys and firmware in the correct folder but now when I add my game it won’t show up on the yuzu app image just like in your video at first. I closed and re opened and nothing.. I continued to parcing it but the image was wrong it’s for Mario wonder. Anyways I launched the steam app and everything seemed fine so I launched the game and then got a message that the nca has a bad header..
