I'm just going to put this here for anyone confused and new. I'm used to MacOS and Windows where they have the files in external drives in a separate container entirely. In Linux it's located in Root -> Run -> Media. From here you'll see in raw list form, where all your external drives are. The reasoning this would be an issue is because in the Yuzu file management window they don't provide the same ui at all to the system's. From my perspective, there was no external storage devices detected and I was sitting there with a headache inducing problem that took me an oddly long time to "solve".
