    While Stupendous Wave doesn’t do what ifs (if rarely), what would it have looked like if Luke joined Vader? Was it Luke’s power by itself Vader was interested in, or was it the combination of Luke being powerful and his son that he had a vested interest in? What would Luke’s training as a with have looked like compared to his fathers?

  • @Rendous
    @Rendous 2 месяца назад +8

    Luke is ultimately the Jedi that Qui-Gon would have made Anakin into. Not a dogmatic and brainwashed lapdog of the Republic, but a follower of the will of the Force itself. That is why Sidious wanted Qui-Gon dead, and most likely why he wanted Luke to die at first too. Were it not for the power within Luke, Sidious would never have tried to turn him.

    if i remember correctly luke directly told mara that had she been there she would have sucseeded to afther mara told him about that.
    also, that thriology is realy great, and i wish that was used for the sequal insted. you have a new republic there and a new threat appearing, you have something that can be used as a sith but is not the main bad guy, insted there is someone that is extremly gifted with tactics instead that is defeting the new republic in every single battle and on almost all the other fronts to. only thing he did not manage was capturing the main cast. he manages to frame the one new republic admiral that is potentialy dangerous so he is not a factor for any of the early battles either and it acctualy shows in a good way that even with the emperor dead the fight is far from won.

  • @23traves

    @TheStupendousWave Hey I just had a crazy idea and a bit of a theory based on some things and coincidences I have found while researching Shii-Cho. You see I had found somewhere, I can't remember where, but somebody had theorized that Shii-Cho and Juyo were once a single style, with Shii-Cho, due to how both styles are aggressive, persistent, and unpredictable in nature. I don't remember where I found this, but this individual had said that the original style had been split into two seperate styles, Shii-Cho being the basics for that form to best utilize a Lightsaber, how to get used to using it, and how to let yourself go into the force and allow it to guide your movements while dealing with multiple opponents. Meanwhile Juyo were the more advanced techniques that would not only allow the user to further advanced their basics, but also allow the user to tap into their own passions, using the principles of Shii-Cho to not only guide, but control their passion in a way that doesn't lead them to the Dark Side, all the while focusing all that they have learned onto a single opponent. If this theory is true, then maybe they split the style into two in order to try and get rid of Juyo due to the risk of the "advanced techniques".
    Also I was wondering, how would you describe how dangerous a Lightsaber form of a Shii-Cho and Juyo Mix would be when fully Mastered? I would love to see a video on this theoretical lightsaber style^^

    Also as pointed out in their conversation in ESB, it was Vader that opened Palpatine up to the idea that Luke could be turned to their cause. In either case the Emperor believed that any move against Luke would have to be done before he became a Jedi Knight, since he felt by then the boy would become powerful enough to be capable of destroying him (Palpatine). So if Vader could not turn him before that, he would have to destroy the boy.
    Not in the dialog; And if Vader could kill Luke, his own son, then Vader would finally break the chains of his old life as Anakin and become as powerful as he should be. Even though that would mean that Vader would become a threat to himself, as is the way of the Sith.

If Vader could rid himself of Anakin and so banish the final, dying spark of light inside, he could access even more of the DS and possibly circumvent his injuries to a degree. Imo

    • @eds1942

      @@toastedtarts4044 Lucas said that Anakin could’ve been twice as power as Palpatine, but lost half of his connection to the Force by Mustafar, and yet never realized more than 80% of Palpatine’s power.
      And a theme between him and Vader was for him to effectively let his old attachments to his life as Anakin die, which became part of the Sith way. The Sith view attachments (as well as their past lives as something that makes) them weaker. Sort of like metaphorical chains that mentally shackle them to their past weaker none Sith selves. So long as those their old life and attachments live, they will always be held back from the goal of any self-respecting Sith of obtaining total power.

      Since this was a dangerous gamble with powerful Force Users, he only wanted powerful Force Users involved. Anything short of that, wouldn’t work.
      If Luke could survive attempts by other Force Users, he would indeed be as powerful as he feared and hoped. And if he could be turned to his side by Vader, “he would be a powerful asset.” But, “he can destroy us”…”he must not be allowed to become a Jedi Knight.”
      The other factor in this was how strong and trustworthy Vader was or could be.
      If Vader instead decided to and was up to the task of killing Luke, then Vader would finally be free of the chains that bound him to Anakin, and become as powerful as Palpatine or more so. Which also meant that Vader might poss a threat to himself, as is the way of the Sith. Or if Vader proved clever enough to turn Luke to his (Vader’s) plan to usurp him (Palpatine), it would also mean that Vader was strong enough to break free of his chains that bound him his master (Palpatine) as become more powerful for it.
      In any event, his legacy (Palpatine’s) and that of the Sith would be secured in the hands of a worthy successor/s. “Just as I have foreseen.”

    • @eds1942
      @eds1942 2 месяца назад

      @@kirkdavis2881 Most of this was based on Palpatine’s communication with Vader in ESB when Han Solo aboard the Millennium Falcon was dodging 3 star destroyers and their fighter wings. I think that it’s safe to say that Luke would’ve got through that fine.
      Did Luke even know about his Force Lightning? The bulk of his training under Yoda and Obi-Wan was geared towards giving Luke the knowledge, experience and proficiency to become a Knight and what he would need to defeat Vader. What we got about training him to face the Emperor amounted to “Don’t underestimate his power.” And from Luke’s reaction to Palpatine’s use of the Force to release his binders on the Death Star 2, I’m not sure they even told him that the Emperor could use the Force.
      Palpatine:
      “And how is the boy’s training coming along?”
      Yoda:
