    On the new DD 13, DD 15 they say Do the valves at 100,000 and then every 500,000 after that. how many miles since your last valve adjustment? and Is the only thing you need to buy is a new head gasket? Thank you again John. p.s. it is nice to see that you double check, triple check the feeler gauge after you have torqued everything down. Those extra steps make a superior mechanic.

      I'm pretty sure that's the schedule for this model. It's been 400k since this one was adjusted. I'm thinking of just doing it every 100k or once a year, just to be safe. I oil sample and check my mpg close and nothing has changed so, that's why I didn't mess with it.

      @@jptransport8830 I agree with that idea. I went to bed and realized I screwed up when I said head gasket because I meant valve cover gasket. thanks for not busting me.

    Ever thought of holding the screw while ya tighten the nut so the setting doesn't change?

      I thought about that. It usually changes a little in the final torque with a socket and a torque wrench, so you won't be able to hold it.
