      Yup! We ended up replacing the whole valve cover and gaskets. Thanks for watching! 👍

    I got the spark plug socket remover but I can’t twist them off is it because of the oil or do I need to put pressure on it when twisting?

    Great video, good energy. How do you know what to gap them to if they are not pre-gapped?

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  10 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Almost all spark plugs these days are pre-gapped as long as they're the correct spark plugs for your engine but I like to double check them before installing, just be 100% sure. You can contact your local Nissan Parts center, they should be able to tell you. For this particular engine the recommended gap should be .044"

    Was it running bad? I got a misfire code on mine. Was idling really bad. Checked the ignition coils and a couple had oil in them. Going to do valve cover this weekend.

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Год назад +1

      Nope, was just doing a simple spark plug change until I pulled the ignition coil and oil was everywhere haha! We have a video on valve cover replacement (if you have the 2.5 L engine):

    Was it misfiring and jerking? Mine just started.. been 13 months since my last tune up.. God im hoping that's the problem..gotta go to work tonight new job.. just got off

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  3 года назад +1

      Luckily mine wasn't misfiring or jerking. I was just going to replace the spark plugs when I discovered the oil inside the spark plug holes.
      I would replace the spark plugs, see if that fixes it, if not checkout AutoZone or Advanced Auto, they got a scan tool that (I think) can pick up misfires, and try replacing the ignition coil for that plug.
      We have a video on replacing them here: m.ruclips.net/video/-wsbN5RYUEk/видео.html
      Hope this helps. Good luck on your repair! Thanks for watching! 👍

    My 2012 Altima engine is different, when I take the top cover off, I have, what looks like a plastic intake manifold... what gives....

    Would you be able to make a video on how to change the wires too? That would be great!

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  8 месяцев назад

      Do you mean the wires that connect with the ignition coils?

    • @mabes-9415
      @mabes-9415 8 месяцев назад

      @@TrickShiftGarage yeah i realized that i just have to change the ignition coils and no wires were involved.

    Is it suppose to smoke like that after a new change of spark plugs

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  2 года назад +1

      No, mine had oil leaking from the valve cover, so the oil leaked into the combustion chambers and burned off after installing the new plugs.

  • @charr4689
    @charr4689 Год назад +1

    Are you positive that little bit of oil that dripped down there wont destroy the engine>?

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Год назад

      Yeah, it should just burn off like mine did. Your car will be smoking for a few minutes but it should clear out.

    Does the 14.5 tongue part matter?

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Год назад

      14.5 ft-lbs of torque is like hand tight if you don't have a torque wrench around. I just like to use a torque wrench when I can lol. Thanks for watching! 😎

    What is the range for the spark plugs?

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  2 года назад

      Alright, took me a while to track it down. According to Bosch's heat range these spark plugs are an 8, which is pretty hot. Had to go on their website, about halfway down lol.

    You didn’t have to gap your spark plug?

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  2 года назад +1

      Nope, my spark plugs were pre-gapped but it's a good idea to always double check them before installing. Thanks for watching Jo! 👍
