Both catabolic and anabolic steroids can give you a puffy "moon" face. Apart from that there are a lot of reasons for not having a lean face. Although Im decently muscular, Ive never had more than 10% bf in my life. But despite like 7% bf, I really had a round puffy babyface in my early twenties and for me it was water retention from excessive salt consumption and stress and eating way too often.
I also think the PEDs cause a lot of water retention. Besides that It may change the way fat is distributed. The distribution of fat isn't spread evenly

There is indeed a noticeable aesthetic difference between someone with well-developed fascia and muscles versus someone with just large muscles. The fascia, which is the connective tissue surrounding the muscles, plays a significant role in muscle shape and definition. When fascia is flexible, healthy, and well-developed, it allows the muscles to “pop” more distinctly, leading to a more sculpted, defined look. This can give the muscles a more athletic, sinewy appearance, where individual muscle groups are more visible and separated. In contrast, someone with just large muscles but less developed fascia may have bulk and size, but the muscles might appear more rounded or blocky, without as much definition between them. The separation between muscle groups can be less pronounced, leading to a softer look overall, even if the muscles are big. Functionally, well-developed fascia also contributes to greater flexibility, movement efficiency, and injury prevention, while large muscles without fascia development might be more prone to tightness and less optimal movement patterns.

A 150 kg bodybuilder is unhealthier than a 150 kg fat person , it's almost the same, which is why they age faster, look worse and they also die earlier
Its pretty simple, the absolute amount of fat on their bodies is much HIGHER even at a low bodyfat compared to a normal person. Look at this. at 110kgs. a 15% bodyfat equates to 16-17kgs of fat. If the same person was 70kgs, 15% bodyfat is only 10kgs of fat. Put that 6-7kgs of pure fat on anybody and watch their face become 'fat'. For the face its the absolute amount of fat on the person's body that determines the facial leaness, not the relative in terms of BF%. I noticed this as well at my heaviest and lightest throughout my gym journey. Thats why you'll never find a HUGE bodybuilder having a sharp jawline unless they're in context shape. It becomes harder and harder to maintain a nice face as your absolute mass increases. You'll need to maintain a lower and lower % bodyfat, which directly contradicts muscle gain conditions.
Facts. And pretty evident for anyone who has experience bulking, even as a natty. Your face contain muscles and fat. Your face is connected to your body, u put on muscle and fat and bloat, your face is gonna change as well, big shocker.
Real muscle is hard to build all of the pros are on steroids and carbs that’s why they have a fat face it’s sarcoplasmic just water under the muscle that’s why when they hop off they deflate also accelerated aging that’s why a lot of them are bald
You are overthinking it. It really is just the introduction of high dose gh. The reality is guys are sporting striated glutes, lower backs and hamstrings and still having bloated faces. The former phenomenons only occur when bf is in 5% range. Even on a 250 pound physique, 12.5 pounds of total body fat is not going to be distributed in such a way as to give a bloated face. The 10 iu+ protocols of gh will expand the jaw, forehead, and cheekbones in such a way as to give a bulbous facial look, and it really is that simple. Look at any bodybuilder in the pre gh era with similar conditioning to today's guys and they all had the lean, sunken in facial look you would expect at 5% bf
It is mostly steroids tho, if you look at natural body builders who compete in heavily drug tested competitions they don't have this puffy face look. People like eddy hall have abbs not because he has low body fat and its spread out over so much muscle, but because he has so much abb muscle that it shows even though he has a high body fat percentage. He can be overweight and still have visible abbs because his abb muscles are so extremely developed. But he is also using steroids as are all the body builder types as well.
It's not mostly steroids, weight gain is gonna change your face no matter if u like it. Steroids just make it more obvious because it accelerated that process
@@antinataliz9633 Yes, but have you ever seen someone lifting stuff with their face in the gym? The only effect the gym has on your face is to make it more lean. It doesn't grow your face, this is false and a stupid idea to believe.

when you use steroids you can do whatever you want and still get muscle, these dudes eat a lot and still get muscle anyways because it doesn't matter what they eat when their roided out, so they get fat faces, the only reason you can see their abs is not because their lean, but because their abs are so big from the steroids and as you said, the muscle disperses the fat, your face doesn't have muscles like that, so you can see it
I'm an amateur bodybuilder going for my pro card and can tell you right now 99% of this video is incorrect. It's a very simple combination of 3 factors. Over all body weight, water retention and body fat %. We aren't going to talk about GH or any particular drugs because, those all fall into water retention, same with estrogen, and peds. It all funnels down into a simple trifecta of those 3. Dallas Mcarver is a very disingenuous example to use, it's like picking Jordan Peterson and saying all bodybuilders get that old disgusting face, it's not true. I'm on peds and look like im in my 20's because of the low fat, water retention and bodyweight im sitting at. Go look at the NABBA athletes in Asia. Nabba is mostly asian bodybuilders on PEDS and you'll see they don't have this problem at all, they stay much more lean in the off season and don't go to the extremes the North Americans do. Also the video is only showing the crazy genetic elites of bodybuilding...As you showed Dallas Mcarver....a literal mr.olympia contender. Why not show a local show guy? maybe a national show guy. now 1 out of 10 people in the entire planet doesn't really make any sense. As a side note, crash course on GH use. it takes YEARS to have any type of significant growth that is even noticeable or measurable unless you are slamming down 10iu+ a day (and it's extremely expensive) good video super fun to watch, I just wanted to share from a bodybuilder point of view since we are usually mis labelled or understood by the general public
Is what you're saying like...proven? Or are you (no offense) just waffling? Saying "Yeah pharmacaeuticals may play a part" is crazy. They're the cause. Especially HGH. Look at Connor McGregor. Dude started taking HGH and his head doubled in size. Not to mention the fact that IFBB pros during contests are genuinely just insanely lean, to the point where it can't be maintained without just feeling like dogshit.
It's muscle. If you're gonna put on 20lbs lean muscle naturally you're gonna change your face too. Androgens simply accelerate that process so it makes it more obvious. And regarding HGH, it probably does affect but not like your face isn't already gonna change drastically from the weight gain alone.
@@antinataliz9633 Naturals don't gain much muscle in their face. The only way that could ever really happen is if you like...resistance trained your face? Don't know how you'd get very far doing so. When you take PEDs, they circulate through your body and affect everything irregardless of resistance training, which is why the face gains muscle too.
@@donthepsycho2018 if your gonna gain a huge amount of muscle over the long run, even if your a natural, your face is gonna change drastically. I realized this a long time ago, there is no way around it. Being natural doesn't mean your androgens stop affecting muscles from the neck up. Look up any natural bodybuilder, and compare their current faces versus say 20 lbs ago. And my point will be proven.
@@donthepsycho2018 I theorize that the facial muscles get some sort of stimulus from both someone's circulating androgens, as well as isometric tension from whole body exertion when they lift heavy. It's involuntary. U don't max out on the squat while putting on a relaxed face.

Can neck curls help get a more defined jawline if you're already lean?
Bro you need to dark brown hair maxx
its partly a chicken and egg thing too. these guys never made good emos to begin with so they focused on being a bro
Real muscle is hard to build all of the pros are on steroids and carbs that’s why they have a fat face it’s sarcoplasmic just water under the muscle that’s why when they hop off they deflate also accelerated aging that’s why a lot of them are bald
Is that why ectomorph bodies likely look better for aesthetics and face?
ectomorhs struggle with apetite so yeah
Ectomorphs specialize in looking lean.
There is no such thing.
5:52 This is .... 😢😢😢
@@antinataliz9633 No, you are incorrect. Weight gain only changes your face if you are gaining fat.
@@Morgan-t3o face has muscles mow Ron
@@antinataliz9633 Yes, but have you ever seen someone lifting stuff with their face in the gym?
The only effect the gym has on your face is to make it more lean.
It doesn't grow your face, this is false and a stupid idea to believe.
@@Morgan-t3o u don't have to lift for facial muscles to grow. They grow by whole body tension and spillover, like when your bracing your body for heavy squats, or pushing near your max for a bench, guess what genius, your facial muscles are gonna be tensed and probably involuntarily contracted.
cbum is good tho

5:00 It can be cheatted, buccal fat removal surgery lol
Thank you
I get the problem at hand and everything and some of the points here were alright but in terms of the explanations given and the pseudo-attempts at reasons behind the phenomena you described, I can say that as a medical student with a specialty in body composition and exercise science that 90% of those were complete bullshit.

ON A FARM!? 🗣
when you use steroids you can do whatever you want and still get muscle, these dudes eat a lot and still get muscle anyways because it doesn't matter what they eat when their roided out, so they get fat faces, the only reason you can see their abs is not because their lean, but because their abs are so big from the steroids and as you said, the muscle disperses the fat, your face doesn't have muscles like that, so you can see it
probably, idk tho
muscle does not "disperse" fat, the guys shown in the video are extremely lean. their faces and guts are bloated from steroid/gh usage
also steroids dont just grow muscles magically. these guys train hard af and follow strict diets. think before you post man
Dude has no idea
@adam-szilagyi if their diets and training are so good, then why do they need steroids, oh yeah, because it magically grows their muscles, why else
Steroids bros* fixed that
and the voice too, they all sound like Joe Rogan LMAO
As a side note, crash course on GH use. it takes YEARS to have any type of significant growth that is even noticeable or measurable unless you are slamming down 10iu+ a day (and it's extremely expensive)
good video super fun to watch, I just wanted to share from a bodybuilder point of view since we are usually mis labelled or understood by the general public
@@antinataliz9633Well yeah, but that tends to go in the neck if anything. A natty might get some mild facial change from long term heavy lifting, but not anywhere near so severe as all the big head bodybuilders.
Roids.
Dr Mike would have won if he had a better tan
CBum actually looks better though
the pitbull face
water retention
Bones grow.
The bones in the feet, hands and face literally grow- especially on HGH or other growth hormone stimulation drugs
When your neck gets too big it tends to push the flesh beneath the jawline forward, which gives a fat person double chin look and obscures the jaw.
High test (steroids) make the face blow like a baloon.
Body builders are bloated in general because of glycogen and massive carb intake
Exactly, when I reduced my carb intake, my face thinned out.
Because they're not as lean as we think? Dude... This is obviously not your wheelhouse so I'll just let you know it's all HGH.
Gear
hormones and roids, those cheaters. Do it properly or you deserves this.
Great video though! Enlightening stuff. I do have abs as a skinny guy, but no hollow cheeks. I've been forcing myself to eat more in order to grow more muscle, but now I'm not sure what to do lol
Bloated.. you have to really watch your diet.. plus the more you take your face muscles grow ..
You should have talked about poor skin quality as well. This is a dead giveaway for steroid use in both men and women.
I dont think your muscle/fat distribution theory makes sense. 😂
bro is on to nothing
You look like this yourself
HGH and gear
Its HGH

My boy got that Donald trump cut
Interesting, good research 💯
Also I've earned the face is not fat but lymph, the drainage of lymph will bring out your face where fat burning does not
I have a 6.79 % bf at 195 lbs but have to do special measures to keep the cheeks hollow.
How do you drain the lymph from the face?
