I married an older man. One downside that nobody has mentioned is that you will be a younger widow/widower. My husband died five years ago. I'm still experiencing sad days. People assume that by now I'd want to kick up my heels. All I actually want to do is be on my own and ignore the world. The pandemic was a God send to me.

I could sense there was something odd about Sir Benjamin. Doing a Wikipedia I found that he had a colourful past, strange demands for potential wives (you think asking what star sign a person was is weird). A parent's worst nightmare is their 20 year old daughter bringing home a 50 year old man. My friend's younger sister did that and her Dad refused to give blessings because he felt the guy was controlling. He was generous and bought her stuff but he decided what "luxury" was appropriate. She would pick a destination, e.g Spain to go on holiday and he would say he'd been there many times so they should go to France instead, oblivious to the fact that she was young and hadn't experienced what he had.
A parents worse nightmare should be being with a 20 something year old that has nothing to offer their daughter! If he can take care of her financially - that’s huge. So many of these young men today are not growing up and won’t contribute to society. As a 50 year old- I surely wish I would have been with older men and not the young idiots I wasted so much time on! They are broke and abusive most of them.

I honestly think it doesn't matter what reasons people date for. As long as it makes them happy. For some people money is all it takes to be, for some they need a nice arm candy to be happy. We all die some day, I don't take life that seriously but it's really interesting seeing these couples. Some of them are great combinations.

Age is a number....it's all in your attitude and outlook on life
I’m in an age gap relationship of just 7 years but even that seems like a lot sometimes. When we originally met I was 15 and he was 22 and obviously had no attraction to each other. Many years later when I was 22 we met again and fell in love not knowing we had met so many years past. Now it’s really weird to think about our original meeting and we tend to not tell anyone how we actually met. I promise he did not groom me, neither of us recognized each other for many months into our relationship. Now I’m 25 and he’s almost 32 and it’s starting to feel more and more normal but I do often have moments where I’m reminded how much more experienced he is than me in certain things. Many times it’s a good thing because he teaches me a lot but if he didn’t have the right intentions it would’ve been really easy for him to control me at a young age. This makes me fear for many of these girls who get into these age gap relationships in their early 20s.

Sure. I personally like conscious marriages that attend needs and objectives of the individuals and the couple. Love and attraction happens anyway if both are willing and truthful people.
At age 73, Sr. Benjamin still wants more, more, more. How sad, as if material objects create happiness. One would think, by that age, a person would have gained a better understand of what's important in life, And, in that past 30-40 years, what kept him from seriously pursuing marriage and children? And he wants "two sons", as if daughters are not desirable. Rather than focusing on having an heir, perhaps Sr. Benjamin could research worthy charitable organizations to support. The planet needs protecting, millions of people are struggling, single mothers could certainly us assistance, people need help affording college, animals need homes, and so forth. Those are very worthy causes. Sell your estate, move into a modest residence, and do some things to make the world a better place. That will bring you lots of happiness.

Some good points, but you're not a man. To men a male heir is very important, not that you won't love & bless your daughters. Also, unlike women who expire by mid/late 30s' men are fertile till their 60s'. But he is too caught up in material things which is sad because many aquire some degree of Wisdom by that age😕

It was a very meaningful, beautiful and satisfying experience, and he loves her dearly. He has never expressed any need for a "male heir". Indeed, he just replied that the "male heir" concept comes from "19th century thinking" and it is "inappropriate" and based upon the (often religious) patriarchal systems of the past. His final comment, "Nonsensical."

Sir Bejamin is a Pro marketing expert. Of course he is saying all the things, a 30 women wants to hear: Money, children, inheritance. They must be lining up for him every week. None of those women is thinking: Hm, why is a 72 year old guy without children and not married? Maybe because he doesnt want to ... specially somebody who can afford a surrogate at any given time. I bet, he has children, and all of this is only a "get them quickly to contact me" scheme :) Good for him, he has perfected his game.
