Great guide, but one thing to note - Calgar, Ragnar and Celestine are not likely to be obtained by a beginner. Calgar and Celestine only become available once you have beat their bosses, and even then the chance of pulling them in a requisition order is extraordinarily small - or you can farm 500 shards to unlock them, which would hamstring a new player's progress in upgrading their existing characters. Ragnar will only be unlockable through his final event in a couple of months, and that's unlikely to be achieved by a new player.
The reason I say this, is that it would be a shame for a beginner to watch this video and think they're not progressing well because they don't have either of those legendary characters.

yep he fails to mention that ultramarines are the only thing you get to play and start off with.

Personally i started leveling everyone for LRE-s and ended up having more than a half of my roster at g1 😅. Oh, by the way, i leveled my Tyrant Guard to d1 as i said) It was one hell of a ride but well worth it.

@@DBPreacherTacticus Man, i want to upgrade her... But xenos badges are basically non-existent for me right now. Trying to buy both books and badges from guild shop is quite a challenge.

Great channel, but for absolute beginners like me one word of caution on levelling Bellator, he needs an epic piece to complete Iron III that you cannot farm until Indomitus Mirror mission 18 or Cadia 55. So if you have had miserable RNG like me and still have not unlocked the scarab spawner after 12 days, its going to take however long it takes to unlock that Aleph Null to get Bellator to Silver I.
That’s where a guild comes in very handy! I joined early on and got the support from my team mates for the tricky parts!
Thanks for the great video. But what are your thoughts on finishing the elites specially the octarius elite? Not all like to upgrade orks but the ork nodes have some of the commonly used upgrades, mjod and runes of fate.
I haven’t finished the orc elite campaign because I don’t want to level the orcs yet. Once they do the reworks I’ll go back and get it on.
After answering lots of questions from new players in my guild, I was just starting to put together the plan to make a new player guide that combines the information currently available spread throughout the many RUclips videos about this game. And you just made exactly that video, covering everything I would’ve wanted to with outstanding advice. Fantastic work.

I’ve been asked, upon doing so, what the “sub” characters are for at 10:54, in the first faction teams section. I didn’t have a great answer about your intentions. Are those characters you recommend leveling along with the rest of the team to sideboard in where needed, or do you think of those as first priority alternatives before going deeper into the second section of alternatives?
It was just more good characters that could replace any you are missing. For example, it’s unlikely you have calgar

I haven’t found the dark angels groove yet! I think i will wait to see how they grow. They have been left a bit behind with the tyranids so far!
Great stuff as always! I wish id had info like this so i could narrow focus when i started. I had just finished getting my roster to silver before macer and asmodai, but im pushing for the mech raid team to hit gold now! Though im not sure who should be in. Ive got gold Tan gida, silver 2 exitor as the core, then i can choose from gold aleph, silver actus, revas, makotep and s2 thutmose. I just pulled sho too(bronze 1) and the orks are silver too. Do you have any thoughts on who i should roll with? Assuming eldy is the 3rd core pick for non avatar raiding too!
For the mech raid team it’s sho, Revas, exitor, gida and maybe eldryon. They do a lot of damages.

Cant count how often i explained that its better to open campaigns to get upgrade materials, then trying to be more "useful" in Guild War or Raid.
That comes automatically. But doing campaigns avoids hitting a wall cause the rare upgrade is in a mission yet to unlock. And rare may be asked for guild but what after those?
Yep 100%. It’s counter intuitive to most but it is the best way!
With current number of heroes in the game and 1 new character per month its imposible to grind all the characters to gold 1, not to mention D3, unless you pay heavy $$ into this game. Above that, great summary. Nice video overall DB.
Yeah that’s why you need to focus! However, I already have a big chunk of them at gI. The issue comes more as you try and push them to diamond! That’s when the pain really starts and you need to specialise.
I have my imperial trinity, level bellator, thaddeus, and brother Burchard, as they can appear in all the imperial campaigns and are required for atleast 1 each they are the best work horses to carry a team all the way. This enables a player to only level 3 toons past that silver 1 marker
Yep it is a really solid starting point. It gets more difficult as you get into elite campaigns but early on it’s perfect 👌
@@DBPreacherTacticus curious, you say difficult, what is to your mind the minimum cut set of characters to complete the imperial campaigns (indomitus, fall of cadia mirror, and octarius mirror) on elite? I'd argue a gold 2 of the trinity I mentioned and silver 1 of the other required characters. (Red 1 star, rare and full defensive items equipped)
For fall of Cadia mirror I needed a bit more than g2 as they kept dying on one of the missions where you could only take 3 characters. However I agree it’s somewhere around there for sure!
Question on the spreadsheet, if I don’t have a character that is already selected on the who I own tab, how do I remove that toon I don’t have?
So this is one of the weird things about Google sheets but you just need to highlight his current rank and target rank and press delete. Then delete his priority as normal
Is it possible to make it so you can sort the who you own by the different variables? names, factions, etc.
You can do that already no? Just use the filters. That’s exactly how I do it
There is a little triangle next to the right of each option. For example, alliance. Then you can sort by A to Z or Z to A
@@DBPreacherTacticus Thank you! I was trying that, but I think my clicks were blocked by images my doc was popping up with information about each faction. Being more careful with it made it work!
How do I get upgrades for silver 1 if all the required gear are in nodes I need silver for?
All upgrades are available to earn :). Nothing is locked
Who should I max out first? Was trying for aethana but now morgen vahl is strong....
It depends on who you have, what your goal is and who you like best. I don’t believe there is a right answer there. I maxed aleph null but that doesn’t mean he is the best

had to come here for guidance, 2 days in and i've hit a wall, like most games similar to this it completely cock blocks progression after you hit your first few milestones and suddenly those micro transactions are looking more and more needed. But i ain't giving them a cent
So you are going to find this game to be a very slow, long haul :) enjoy it on the side of other things and you will be fine

I would not call this a beginner's guide. For the Imperial team you suggest, I have been playing on and off for 3 months and I don't have any of those three Legendary characters. Also how do you get a dude from Stone 1 to Silver 1 in 5 days?
Yeah the legendary characters are a pain but that’s why there is the subs. If you use normal Blackstone regen + advert refill + 110 Blackstone refill, then you can do that.
@@DBPreacherTacticus How do you move people up from Stone 1 to Silver 1 in 5 days? Or did I misunderstand that? Do you have a video on efficiently ranking up? I suck at this and I am always out of orbs as well.
Whoops, I wrote Blackstone refill above and I meant energy refills. If you spend all your energy on pieces then you can get them. Check out my beginner playlist as it has a bunch of videos deep diving into the energy consumption if you are interested in learning more! But yeah it is 5 days of energy to get someone from stone 1 to silver 1
@@DBPreacherTacticus Appreciate your time and responses. I messed around with that Tacticus planner app and with the campaigns I have unlocked it is showing 2705 energy to get from Stone 1 to Silver 1. I am sure with all the campaigns unlocked that energy cost goes down...so yeah 5 days if you are laser focused and spending 160BS/day. I have a bad habit of scrolling through my roster and bumping randos up that I never use just because they have an upgrade that would rank them up.
You can't get to silver 1 without upgrading stars?
That’s right… you need 5 stars to do it. I need to go back and start a new account again and make sure my info is legit.
This game is cool but super grindy for F2P players and super expensive if you want to swipe the card.

Tournament Arena... Pick "your play style". Sadly that's not how the game is made. I've never been overly successful with this approach. There's always a popular imbalanced meta that'll come to the front, and you'll have no choice but to build for it to have any real chance. Probably the most accurate shared trait with the tabletop.
At lower levels it is possible to pick what you want :). At silver… not so much that’s true!

Can you please pass this along to the developers in reference to a fair chance of every Tacticus Gamer worldwide?Can we have an in game added mode possibly as an event or new micro game mode to get a chance to regenerate or essentially reload game tokens and energy? This will alleviate the “lockout from the arcade”and give a gamer the chance to possibly level lower leveled characters in their rosters. I am trying to desperately to do so and I am getting my butt handed to me in arena , simply because I am looking to balance my (blessed by the Chaos Gods Roster of 20weak characters and 5 Enlightened by the FalseEmperor to be given all of my focus) roster . I will not ; for I believe the third round season of Guild Wars ,be able to help my Guild (Alpha Legion) with 5 balanced Kill Teams to move to the Battlefront and rightfully defend a valued asset objective. I will be forced to hide in the back and not engage. It is simply not the way of GWWH40K Tabletop. (There is another issue I have for a later topic if you choose to keep this dialogue going)With Tabletop you are engaged, Tacticus to a certain degree. One last thing that is kinda like an idea as well ….the refer a friend code to be kind to fellow RUclipsrs who subscribe and follow can only be used once. Nox Tempest /(has a crazy leveled roster and flaunts it in his events tips)Nandi /CagedSlinky and yourself included are codes that are not allowed, we are forced to only subscribe and follow one Game Ambassador. Why ? RUclips does not do it , why are we not allowed to follow and subscribe to all GAs and get character items , energy , tokens from time to time or at specific levels. Can it be reset to follow a GA for like a month and then follow another GA like Nox(who flaunts his high caliber roster in events)then switch to TechPriestFred for a month. It would kinda be like Tabletop in a digital way ; saying, “hi friend, wanna play?”if you have read this far , I will show respect and subscribe, although sadly I cannot use ur refer a friend code.
