Such a great video. Explains mechanics so well. I hope beginners find it useful! I think you might have got the damage for the Silver one characters wrong though
In my humble and newbie opinion, maybe it could be good for new players to get advised about the order they will want to use the battles to raid and farm the items. I.e., usually Epic ones > mirror ones > normal ones. In terms of energy efficiency for number of items This was what more hindered my progress for almost a year playing, until I noticed there was that small dice button in the svreen saying the percent chance of the items dropping. I was always going for the first ones, usually the worst. :P
You should refresh the DAILY DEALS and buy every 200 gold common item. This is like buying an extra 5-6 Energy. Why no guides are mentioning this? I regret not buying them for months. Just remember to do the extra 50 energy ad BEFORE you start the Daily Deals refreshes.
I needed this 3-4 months ago! And I needed someone to tell me to watch it! I *really* needed someone to tell me the characters I saw in videos and being played against me in Arena and TA were largely NOT in my requisition pool (very nice tip at the end) and therefore it would be...stupid...to buy a bunch of Blackstone and do 10 pulls like I had a college fund to blow (as a parent FWIW). I definitely did not do that, I'm just saying. I think there will be an increasing desire for beginner's content as long as the game is healthy and growing which right now it definitely still is (healthy and growing). I'm reading that a lot of higher end guilds are having trouble with maintaining active rosters and that there is some turn over. SP is also targeting new players by making the game more rewarding at lower levels (the very poor "loyalty" points system they added to reqs, the Onslaught/Salvage token change from Raid Tix and Gold at player level up). I think they are trying to increase retention early while hoping this gets more addicts, err players, long term. One last thing...and you know this a lot better than I do so I don't feel great about pointing it out here but will anyway...getting 9-10 characters to S1 will take months for most players. I don't think this was stressed enough and at the end with the use of weeks instead of months in the closing narrative, it could have been. I also think new players should be warned off of LREs. Don't spend on them at this point and definitely don't gear/upgrade for them yet. Highly anecdotal but I can't imagine I am that unusual. I get side tracked easily and this is a game that is very easy to get lost in. I've been playing for four months, the last two very aggressively both in terms of time and money, and while I am very close, I don't have nine Silvers or even one Gold character. The first LRE I paid attention to was Kharn's debut and I bought into the hype thinking the paid packs were going to put me on a more even footing with veteran players with respect to the event. That...did not happen. At all. IMO the LRE packs should come with a warning label for players below a certain level...of course that ain't gonna happen. Anyway, five weeks later and here we are with the last of the three Ragnar events and I didn't learn my lesson thinking my roster was more mature and even having embraced the excellent planning tool tacticusplanner.app I got a lot further, but still spent money and time that was not spent on campaigns, and still did not unlock the Legendary character in question. The third time's the charm I'm sure...
Just realised I'm following you allready almost 2 years as well! New players: this guy (and his wife) are great content creators for Tacticus, so make sure you follow him! Thx Nandi!!
Big appreciate on all your videos. I stopped playing around the 1st Ragnar event cause I felt like I hit a wall into the mid game that felt like I needed to pay. I’m very happy with how you lay out things especially on this video as I’m coming back.
I appreciate this content, I'm still early in the game and a lot of the beginner guides are dated at best. I particularly appreciate the items on how far to take the core campaign characters and which ones are worth pushing further as I'm at the point where I have some of them at silver 1 finally and I'm trying to decide what to put more into.
I have very little to no knowledge of 40k but I’m learning and this video is going to really help me get things done in Tacticus. It’s my opinion if you are new to 40k or this game it should be mandatory to watch this. Please make more
This is why i love your videos Nandi, here i am 8 months into the game thinking i know all and i just found out i wont get Helbrecht and Ahriman in requisitions because i havent fight them in campaigns out of pure laziness, thanks
Wonderful video, really appreciate it! Would it be possible to do a tier list of the characters, so we know which ones are better than others, or is that not really applicable due to different people getting different characters at different times, besides the base 5 you get from the first Campaign?
Thank you for video informative but I would request more beginner guides and such like you were asking about at the end! I’ve been playing Tacticus for 4 weeks steady now and I’m just getting some characters to Bronze II Rank
What a time to start playing this game, just started playing this game last week, and there is requisition milestone and now you even get onslaught/salvage token every power lever ups, also anniversary soon as well.
Thank you! I would have loved this video even more a few months ago. Still I believe this is helpful even now to see who you prioritize amongst the „basic“ characters. Could you please follow up with how to beat your first LRE? Ideally assuming a similarly basic set of characters? Something more helpful than the usual advice that can be found online like „use the Neurothrope team for alpha track and the Isabella Battle Bowl for Gamma“ .
Ty for the content Nandi! I was a new player like 6 months ago. I immediately rushed thousand sons and aeldari campaigns and am very close to unlocking Ahriman (491/500) and Maugan Ra (469/500) through farming. I 3 medaled them with bronze 2 characters and have no idea how i did it lol.

This was awesome. Where do I check who is in my requisition pool??? If you are willing to spend a little, one other deal of note is once you unlock 1 required character in a base trio the price for the instant unlock deal drops 33% (19.99 US). Paying to unlock 2/3rds of the Black Legion was worth it. Made upgrading Ultramarines so much easier.
I started a couple of months ago and I still found this useful so thank you for that. However the sound quality was a bit rough here, especially in the middle where there were a lot of pops and clicks. Not sure if it's a mic issue or software but it was distracting for me.
When I started I focused on leveling up my chars instead of increasing their rank. After a while I got completely bulldozed in the indomitus campaign. As soon as I realized how the rank system worked and started building my chars that way the tables turned and I ran right through the campaign. 😅 One thing I like to do in regular arena is to have Certus, Calandis and Imospekh move forward a bit (preferably to an elevated position) and use their overwatch on the opponent during their first turn. Sometimes Imospekh manage to wipe the opposing team out all by himself. 😄
Glad I joined the game to farm the 2nd anniversary and unlock Sho'Syl right in timel xD I'm curious about campaigns though, does it means that they're free if you've the 3 recquiered characters unlocked? I'm at a point where I can't upgrade my Ultramarine team (and some others) because materials recquiered are not in the base/mirror campaign~ Also, this might be pointless min-maxing, but the way recquisition works implies that if you avoid getting badges from heroes you don't want you've more chances to get those you're interested in(?) Thanks for the guide!
Lol, I was just listening without looking at the screen for a minute and immediately after you spoke of the tutorial, I thought you were showing it off because an ad for Tacticus started playing
The game´s artificial intelligence chooses summons first, since death first are priority for the game, if any of the summons has by any chance more HP than any character, this character will be attacked by AI.
The part where you say multi hit scales with damage boost better reminded me that armor affects each hit iirc. So your multi hit was for multi models and single shot was for high armor. So which scales better factoring armor?
Thanks for video and code! Having played a few months now, there’s still a thing I’m not really clear on and would appreciate to be explained. I’m sometimes surprised by the damage dealt by characters. The recent Godswyl quest is a good example. Godswyl would nuke armored enemies but Bellator would do close to nothing. Even Varro and Certus would do more damage than Bellator. So, basically what is the difference in damage output between power damage, piercing, physical etc? And maybe an overview of what kind of damage is preferential to different kinds of enemies? This would help a lot in terms of Teams for quests, LRE’s, arena etc.
The difference is in Pierce ratio, which is the amount of damage dealt after armor is calculated. Multi Hit characters like Bellator tend to have very low pierce numbers, and snipers like Calandis and Certus have a 100% pierce on their ranged attack. Psychic damage also ignores armor.

Why do I see this after three weeks of play? I trudged through later Indom with two iron ones and spread my attention to far. Mainly focused on summon characters, though. Still can't beat the final battle
For me snapawrekas pasive helped me in elite campaigns ws agresors and others. But May snapawreka is diomand r1 and 3/6 upgrades and mistake upgraded his pasive to 41 xD. But he can 1 shot agresors withs 3200+ health in melee from high ground. But for orks snotfloga was and is stil mvp after rewORKS.
@@Nandi40k Ok, maybe I'm doing something wrong here. I tried RIG-61-DUG, RIG61DUG, RIG 61 DUG, rig 61 dug, but it didn't work for me. Nandi11k code is "offline" right now. But all others working for me.
Something I noticed playing through the indomitus mirror campaign, the space marine snipers seem to target the weakest character unit in their range instead of summons. Quite annoying actually…
I don't want t go against the, in my opinion, the best opinion in this game, but I have to say that gold I seems a little low to win elite V. I have needed to go until gold III in two necros to beat the elite
Heyy so, I have bellator and certus at silver two, and it seems like certus just does wayyyy more damage. Most of his hits against smaller units are overkills but bellator will be lucky if he can shave off half their health bar. I feel like I’ve accounted for everything. They’re both ranked the same. They’ve both been upgraded to epic units. I’ve even switched around their equipment and bellator consistently does less damage. Could there be some thing that I’m doing that’s hampering his potential?
i started the game yesterday and i have a question, through redeeming codes i managed to get a legendary ( MAUGAN RA), but i cant use him in the campaign, im still at the begining in node 24 indomitus. Any reason?
I don't totally believe the elite campaign is the best bang for your buck on energy. I get only a single gear piece almost constantly when playing them. The odds just aren't in the player's favor. I assume this is done intentionally to get people to spend money
Nandi mentions this towards the end of the video. Have you been using the 10 draw? That guarantees one. But not necessarily a new one. I've had one only give me chars I already have. Imo never use the single draw. And to tell, the thinner pods which start fat and slim down to pointy bits as it it goes from bottom to top are characters. The fat bully ones are not but I think can still give you char shards. I'm still new so I'm not totally sure.
Just what I needed. I’m a level 24 guild leader, and I’ll pass on the video and the info. Right now my biggest challenge is losing players between levels 17 and 20. They’ll have great energy and boom. They stop playing. Grinding up goes so fast, and then it just grinds along at a limp. I think some see a massive pay wall, but you can advance without dishing out huge amounts of money. Investing in the enhanced battle pass and daily shards has been worth it. At my level investing in the Saga of Majesty has been a let down. Yes, Ragnar Blackmane, you broke this girl’s heart. Great information.
I want to enjoy this game, I really do. But the AI is soooooo trash. And the matching for arena at the start is quite oppressive. Done move, get AoE to death, move, get over watched to death. Rinse and repeat.
Best advice to new players is to stop playing and forget about Tacticus. You will never catch up, you will miss on tons of stuff and miss even more before you are strong enough for HRE and LRE. Dont make the same mistake and play something better in WH40K universe
Wouldn't bother with any of this I've been playing for about a year now and the only campaign I've managed to complete is Indonitus. I no longer seem to get what in need to level up my necrona, orcs and chaos. And am completely unable to complete any other campaign and haven't been for ages. I get slaughtered every time and every mission the enemy hardcore just goes for my healers until they are dead and finishes the rest off within a couple of rounds. Even some so called easy missions I just get one or two shouted, no matter what I do. So I'm stuck on the final leg of all the campaigns not getting what I need to level up properly at all and stuck with impossible to beat missions. I guess being a free to play player comes with punishments. Having the enemies just all go for the healers until they are dead leaving with no way to heal and being too OP to defeat is a really shitty move.
Hey, you failed to mention that if you connect your account to google and you have already been playing YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR PROGRESS AND MONEY SPENT!!!
In arena, I don't think that AI controlled player units always attack summoned units especially if that AI hasn't use it's active skills becuase in my experience they usually go for a kill using those active skills (ex. Maladus, Angrax, Wulfen, Ragnar, Kharn, etc.) ofcourse if within their reach.
Such a great video. Explains mechanics so well. I hope beginners find it useful!

Sadly the energy system puts me of this game entirely. I hate having progression walls put behind a pay wall
And so it begins….
What code
I want to enjoy this game, I really do. But the AI is soooooo trash. And the matching for arena at the start is quite oppressive. Done move, get AoE to death, move, get over watched to death. Rinse and repeat.
Best advice to new players is to stop playing and forget about Tacticus. You will never catch up, you will miss on tons of stuff and miss even more before you are strong enough for HRE and LRE. Dont make the same mistake and play something better in WH40K universe
Silver Bellator 500 damage LOL
Is this ftp friendly - coming back, economic collapse - food or game, food wins
Just throw a wallet at it. This is just a gacha game for whales.
