Marie watching your videos about your U.S. trip is so refreshing. As others have said you actually went into the interior and saw what it's like here other than the big cities. Now that's what I call a vacation.
What a refreshing video to watch, most people that come to the US spend their time in big cities. To get the true taste of the US is to visit small town USA. Great series young lady
I was born in Minnesota and lived here for 58 years and haven't seen 1/2 of what you have experienced, you are so lucky and I have a lot to to do now. You are doing a great job presenting Minnesota in a good light, thank you.
When I was 11, I was in the Boy Scouts, and I won a chance to get a Bald Eagle to land on my arm at that week's Scouts meeting. I was given the giant glove and the handler stood behind me showing something to eat for the Bald Eagle who was across the gym from me. The Eagle flew over, landed on my outstretched arm, and I was in disbelief at how majestic and large it was. OK yes I was only 11 and not a fully grown adult. But I still remember that experience and how awesome it was.
Marie, you’re a wonderful ambassador for cultural exchange. There’s so much to see and do over here. Do remember though, I think a lot of us would love to see more of France…especially from your perspective!
I am in Minneapolis, and it's cool that you are showing me some attractions around here that I've never seen before. Definitely want to take my kiddos to see the cave! I hope you loved the North Shore. It's one of our favorite places in the world.
Love the area you are visiting today. Have to watch the trees because they are sitting in them. Rented a place less than a block away from the National Eagle Center. We sat on the deck over looking the eagles flying over the Mississippi River. So much fun. Also that area was nice wineries and some great food.
Thanks Marie, born in the Twin Cities but grew up in Wisconsin. Several years ago I was rafting down a northern Wisconsin river and saw several Bald Eagles diving down to get fish.
I have had 3 GSD in my life. They are such great dogs. I lost my girl Ariel in January, so Maya's passing hit me. So sad when they go. As for the video another amazing job. You explore so many interesting places off the main path. You show the many differences in all of this great country.
Marie, it's so good to see you getting to see the Eagles so close. When you make it to Alaska they'll be even bigger than what you saw. Glad to see that the zip lining burn is healing up. I'm guessing you're fine, but please be careful on your adventures! If it leaves a mark on your wrist you'll have a good conversation starter with it. Scars are acceptable if they come with a great adventure story! I loved seeing your reaction to being able to draw on calcite with a UV flashlight. The first time I saw that I was surprised too! It's awesome seeing you out on your adventures! Keep up the great work and keep smiling!
I've been to Niagara Cave, but it was decades ago. I remember it being a lot of fun. I've since been in a dozen or more caves, and I still have a fondness for Niagara cave. I grew up about an hour from there in southcentral MN. A great place to grow up.
I used to live close to La Crosse WI. In the spring as the ice on the Mississippi would start to melt you could see dozens and dozens of Eagles sitting on the edges of the ice and perched in trees looking for fish. The most I've seen in one area was around 40.
Yes, I live in La Crosse and we have a spot on the Black River called Eagle Watch...is that the place you are referring to? My husband and I go there every winter/spring and we literally saw 100's of eagles at one time! I think I could have fainted I was so excited, lol! It was amazing!
@dacrosber Don't believe everything you hear. I don't live in Minneapolis, but I've been meeting up with two friends there once a week year-round for the last 24 years to either run or walk. So we travel about 5 miles on foot in the evening, thousands of times. We've never once had a single person bother us or witnessed anyone else being bothered. I doubt people in most cities could do that.
Eagles - such magnificent creatures! We've come to see them as majestic, regal and fierce guardians watching over our country, strong and free. Glad to see they're being cared for and protected. Niagara cave! Exceptional! Call me old-fashioned but, as much as I generally love technology, I'd choose spending time in places like this over the glow of a screen any day! Bravo Marie!
Due to the pesticide DDT (greatly weakened Eagle egg shells) combined with habitat issues Eagles almost disappeared. I am pleased to say that there has been an incredible rebound all across the US. I have seen wild Eagles a few times. Every time I see one it is a memorable moment.
I actually own a tree here in Minnesota with an eagles nest in it. All of the large birds have made a similar comeback here in Minnesota in my lifetime. Birds I see frequently now that I rarely saw as a child include turkeys, vultures, sandhill cranes, eagles, ospreys and pelicans.
Heya... I came across your videos via your touching Normandy-WWII visit... and some of your adventures have been popping up ever since... so I had quite the smile when I saw you passed through my home - Prescott, Wisconsin... I hope you had fun... I wish you good health, fun and safe travels!
Oh, wow!! Niagara Cave is less than an hour from where I live! (in Iowa). Cool that you made it to this area. Some day you should come back and visit more of the Driftless Area of Southeastern Minnesota, Northeastern Iowa, and Western Wisconsin.
Wabasha is part of the driftless region… spectacular part of the Midwest! Did 8 years in La crosse, WI between my undergrad and master degree. I’m glad you enjoyed one of the best regions in the area. Would move back in a heartbeat.
I lived in Minneapolis Minnesota for 3 years. I am from Washington. I liked it in Minnesota but it did feel weird for me not seeing mountains at the horizon are large hills all over the place. Which I have grown up being accustomed too.
Hey Marie, wow another epic video of beautiful Minnesota. The green landscape, eagles, food and the cave are very cool. Sad for Maya though. You have a blessed life.
There has been a huge resurgence of the Bald Eagle population in the lower 48 states. When I was as child I saw no large hawks at all and that includes both Eagles and Ospreys. SInce 2004 when I moved to Minnesota Eagles are regularly seen especially along rivers.
I saw 2 eagles driving to work one day. They have a nesting area on the river in my area. I stopped to watch them with 2 other drivers. It was an incredible experience I'll never forget.
Down in my neck of the woods. Rochester, Olmsted County. Looking forward to your northern trek where I was born and grew up, Duluth and beyond. Thank you, enjoy!
Another great adventure. We have the Carolina Raptor Center. They have a few bald eagles and have had hatchlings they released into the wild. They also have hawks and other raptors on display with the goal of healing and releasing what they can. I try to visit once a year.
I'm so glad you made it down to the Southeastern part of Minnesota. That was where I was born and raised, so basically this whole trip was a reminder of my own childhood trips. And you most likely drove through my hometown to get there!
Yay you did make it to my area, can't wait to see the videos. I see Bald eagles in the wild all the time, but every time I see one it's a treat. Unfortunately deer end up dead on the sides of our freeways often but the Eagles won't pass up a free meal like that and they have no fear of passing traffic.
You guys have done such an incredible job. So much energy, planning, and editing etc. Probably the best MN series I've seen. À la prochaine épisode. Cheers!
Such beautiful creatures bald eagles are. They are so rare to see out in the wild, so for you to be able to see them up close is pretty amazing. Hope you're having a good weekend! Cheers! 🍻🌞✈️🌎🇺🇸
The southeast of MN is a hidden treasure. Harmony, Lanesboro, Preston, Chatfield. The river and bike trails are great. My ancestors settled in Harmony, it has my heart.
Bonjour Marie, how fitting that you visited the eagle center while in America. They are such beautiful birds. It was cute that you're the same age as Angel the eagle. Merci beaucoup for acknowledging that June 6 is D Day. 🇨🇵🇺🇲♥️🌹
Bonjour Marie! Hope your arm healed well, but I imagine you have a scar. It's great what the Eagle place does, but the Eagles aren't able to be Eagles which sucks but they likely wouldn't survive in the wild. Are they living or existing though? But it's still good to see them cared for. Always enjoy seeing all the caves you go thru. Maya 😢💔 Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed
I saw two Ravens fighting a Bald Eagle, near McGill, NV. I also watched a Mustang, playfully run along side my truck, on the Infinity Highway, in Northern Nevada.
I've heard about that cave but have never been there. The north shore area is definitely one of my favorite places, my grandparents are from Duluth so I have a lot of memories from up there.
As a Minnesotan, I have to admit I'm loving this series. I hope you found time to get to Northern Minnesota as well, the North shore and lakes are amazing as well.
That was a beautiful trip. Eagles are such a majestic bird. What a nice place those wounded eagles have to live. Those are really nice people who are taking care of them. such a beautiful place, and full of interesting facts about eagles. The cave was really amazing, what a nice interesting and passionate guide your had. Danny is a great guy. He is the best. Much sympathies for the passing of Maya. If there's any solace to take, it is that Danny what's an awesome master fort Myers to live with. May God bless all of you.
Im glad you are going to the North Shore. I highly recommend Bettie's Pies in Two Harbors. Go to Gooseberry Falls, Splitrock Lighthouse, Castle Danger Brewing. If you make it up to Lutsen or Grand Marais thats awesome too
The biggest concentration of eagles on the planet occurs every winter during the bald eagle migration to the Skagit (Skajit) River in Washington state where hundreds of eagles migrate from Alaska and Northern Canada to feast off of the salmon when they spawn. It's a hell of a thing to see that many eagles in one place.
We have Bald Eagles in Northern Ohio because of the closeness of Lake Erie. Therre are even nesting pairs. Once saw a Bald Eagle sitting on the ground along I95 in Florida.
I went on a cave tour in Slovenia about 15 years ago. It was fairly far down and pretty large. There were lots of people. While I was down there, they lost power and the lights went out. You couldn't see anything. They were out for about 2 minutes, but it seemed like forever. It was quite scary to imagine how I was going to find my way out in the dark!
LHopefully you also went to the Raptor Center at St Paul campus of U of Mn. Where many of the injured raptors you have seen were taken. Spring and Fall they have held release events for those that can return to the wild.
Great video, Marie! I love Harmony Cave. Been there twice. Lots of steps but worth it. Did you see many wild Eagles along the river in Wabasha near the Eagle Center? During some times of the year the river can have hundreds of them perched or flying low in the Wabasha area. So cool to see.
bald eagles have also come back in a big way. i remember 15 years ago you'd practically do a dance from being so excited to see one. now, they're all over the place. it's been cool to see
You can purchase a Mustang as a non resident and keep it in the US.....imagine how fun it would be to drive your own Mustang around as you continue your explorations....and your viewership would ever so appreciate it.... your channel would simply explode to the next level ...and its already a fun channel ....register it in my state Montana which has no sales tax......people all around the world utilize our vehicle registration laws to register here when they live elsewhere. especially super cars and rare cars...its worth consideration.....you would have a blast driving your own Mustang all around the states Canada.....
Marie the cave was awesome. I always wonder what your mom and dad say and think when they see your videos? Hope you are having a great summer. Stay well and be safe.
I wanted to go visit that cave but now that they tell me I can't bring my kangaroo I'm not going to go.
Hello, let us hear it! Spelunking for Roos!
A big shout out to your friend who drives you around everywhere everyday showing you all that Minnesota has to offer. What a nice person.

Look up Mongolian wolf hunting eagle ... they have to put a 2 x 4 prop under their arm to hold those thing up 😉
I used to work at a building on the Mississippi bluffs. I saw bald eagles everyday flying and looking for fish. I never get tired of watching them.
