Tbh Bard has a ridiculously high skill ceiling, the champion is not bad, he’s just so unconventional that it’s hard for the player and teammates to know what to do with a Bard in low elo, but if you’re good enough on the champ and your teammates have good macro then you can quite literally solo-carry games as Bard with your practical omnipresence on the map.
And T1 lost the finals last year to a Bard pick so... Yeah

Keria reached Bard nirvana this game, I dont even care if it was against my home region. I'm a Bard otp and seeing the champ played to this level was absolutely incredible.
Keria is one heck of support and bard in right hands is a menace to deal with.

4:42 that Bard Q is not questionable. Most people just don't play, with, or even against a Bard. What Bard's Q does is that it basically "creates" a new projectile once it hits its 1st target. That new projectile would then try to "link" to the nearest terrain it can, or otherwise hit another target. With that in mind, there's a neat Bard tech where if you hit something with the edge of the skillshot, the range of the link can be extended hy aound 20% or so.
This is not even the worst case of this. There's an interaction where, if you move, dash, or flash away right after being hit by a Bard Q, the link projectile actually continues from where you were first hit, and if that link projectile still hit a wall, you'll still be stunned no matter how far away you are from the wall.
this man speaks the truth. Yeah, it's crazy but very understandable that people don't know a lot about how bard works. The Bard Q that was being questioned to me just seemed normal, but got the full range out of it. I was thinking to myself "Wtf, are they talking about? it's a normal bard Q." but if the other interaction (that you mentioned) happened, people's minds would have been blown and question mark pings would be flying in chat.
So basically Bard's second Q has a minimum range. If I had to guess is a similar coding to Miss Fortune's Q.
@@N12015 yes like this. The 2nd part of the q is coded to find the nearest unit/terrain but won't connect to a stun if the initial target gets isolated enough.

Bard has always been a pocket pick in the LCK and Korean high elo solo queue. He's been played nearly every meta there since his release. What's unusual is he's always worked well in competitive and high elo but it took him this long to finally show up at Worlds but that's why we have Keria!

@@darkhime7005 what proof do you have that they lost because of Bard? It was heavily due to their stubborn refusal to ban Aatrox and Faker and Zeus constantly throwing. Not only this but Zeka was just a better midlander so they never even stood a chance. Keria picked up a lot of their slack and did great actually. Let's not forget the 3 carries on T1 have been coinflipping games since they've been together on this roster and Keria shockingly keeps them from doing a lot of stupid shit. (This is coming from someone who despises support mains, especially Bard players but I wouldn't be so hasty as to blame Keria for their loss).

You missed one fact in your recap, and that was the pick and ban faze. T1 left Faker and Keria to pick last because as the announcers put it "they have a champion ocean" so they couldn't be banned out from playing something they're good with, so they picked bard as a flex of that.

Those are some of the most goated Bard ults I’ve ever seen. Especially that first one comboing with the J4 ult, oh man.
Really happy to see Bard again at worlds. As a bard main it makes me want to learn new things. A really good bard can set up and get out in fights.
As a humble bard main the plays seen in this game are just well executed common bard strats or at least things i do (exept that Q+flash i don't do that often) but i'm happy people are seeing that the puppet with a trumpet and chimes is scary.
Of course he is scary - the only champion, who can make Herald useless.

im somewhat of a main too and i didnt even know about that q+flash was a thing, i knew how bard's q works but ive never thought "yeh if you flash you can redirect the skillshot like ezreal e+r+f" really useful if you get it right

Bard is the definition of a Utility champ. On paper your like wtf is this thing doing. He leaves my lane, does no dmg I dont understand. Then you see it in the hands of keria as he delivers Jarvan R into the heart of the enemy team, double stuns while disabling tower and you understand.

But on a serious note, Bard is seriously an awesome champion! I main him, its a pain in solo queue with no instanteneous comms because you have to sync with your teammates for around 1-2 skirmishes to get a grasp of how trigger happy are they with their abilities.

Q flash to get a double stun angle AND disables the tower. Keria was NUTS in that game. Oner and Zeus was great too, picking off players one by one. Though I have to criticize the Sylas pick, kinda weird considering there aren't any massive ult steal that could've led to a game changer (and from the game, there really wasn't any worthwhile)

As someone who is new to pro LOL whenever I see Keria highlights from when he played on DRX he was almost always on Bard. Dunno how much of that was due to him being really good on him or Bard just being meta

The Bard Q was pretty good. However, the the ult that followed wasn't very good. It stopped rumble from finishing off Ori. Gave Ori time for her skill cds to cool off to potentially turn the tide of the fight. In this case it just didn't matter because she didn't have her ult and the team was just too far behind. Bard should have aimed his ult to a corner near the wall so it just gets the turret.
Tbf, T1 is very good at keeping track of ult cooldowns, I don't think it was a coincidence that Ori got ulted. But you have a good point in general. :)

Bard just received a huge buff in the 13.18 patch notes, making him broken in solo queue high elo. I don't know why no one plays him in Worlds except Keria

I watched this live with Doublelift, what a disappointing game for NA. Obviously, T1 is really good, but this game felt lost in champ select, who tf goes belveth into this comp? That's a solo queue pick, not a worlds pick, and he got out jungled the entire match.The bard play in question was dope though, very oppressive team fighting capabilities.

League of Boring and Unbalanced. C9 playing under turret the entire game to an 0-10 kills/8k gold deficit; Do people still enjoy watching Worlds in 2023 for this eSport? I mean these games are an absolute snooze-fest of snowballing and zero outplay potential at the highest level. That's sad.
The real issue was picking Belvath on r5 into an already losing topline match up.
It was a complete waste not only picking jungle with your ultimate r5 counterpick but also picking Belvath into a completely sub-optimal situation.
C9'S drafting has been bad for while and is probably the #1 reason they lost the LCS Final and did so poorly at Worlds.
Not saying the player's didn't have issues at times too but drafting Belvath on r5 into a self created weak side top is setting your team and Blabber up for failure.
I don't want to be rude, but I don't understand what's the point of this video.
I dont see how this is a bard diff game this video is trying to imply. Its team comp diff, c9 picked literally full scaling team comp without a single champion who doesnt have weak early game, because of that they stimply got stomped without having a chance to scale. Zeri kept losing to xay 1v1, jax to rumble, oriana to sylas, and belveth to jarvan. With all that prio and gold advantaga jarvan and bard could easilly make the plays without any worries
Thanks for the recap! But counting your type of content, I'd give a more "In context" title if the whole video is not centered around Bard or if the titled topic doesn't use 30%+ of the video time. I appreciate highlights, but I'd give an hint in the title that this video ISN'T mostly about Bard.
That description of every play and then showing said play, felt kinda odd to me... Maybe you can describe the game while b-roll of the game is playing and then end your commentary before the highlights of the game. Maybe reacting only on the best plays to give more substance. Still, i like your content eventhough this vid felt weird to me, keep up the good work!

I will never hope to see C9 win so long as Fudge is on the team. He's arrogant with a bad attitude, and often chooses spite over the correct course of action. Like insisting on going for top tower while T1 routs the rest of his team and takes their base.
