Finally! I found an age appropriate video! You are beautiful, easy to listen to and show everything you are doing in a bright and easy to see manner. Thank you for your wonderful videos! I'm a 65 yr old and haven't applied make up in years due to the sagging, hooded eyes from aging and the fact that I can't see easily without glasses. I'm attending an event soon and need to figure out how to do the right make up for my hooded eyes. I'm still practicing your techniques but I'm confident. My problem is having to see clearly without my specs and no mirror I have found seems to be magnified enough. I suppose there's nothing you can do about that LOL. However, I do love how you make it seem so simple so that I don't need to do everything so precisely. Except for the lashes, which has proven challenging. Good thing I decided to start practicing early.
Same! Getting close enough to the bathroom mirror to see without my glasses is the main reason why I give up! I have a small magnifying mirror but it’s only good for one eye. 😆 👁 I even tried doing my makeup in the car mirror but it only looked good twice. 😂
@@stephaniepapaleo521 I'm glad I am not the only one who struggles with this! A 5 x large mirror, 10 x for detail and in excellent natural light is the only way for me 😂
@@elizabethyoung3408 I’m going out this weekend to find a mirror, it’s discouraging to try to find the crease in the eye when far away then it’s difficult to judge just how dark the eyeshadow shadow is, the blending is hard when u can’t see up close
Finally someone who actually has hooded eyes ... fed-up seeing 20 year olds pretending they have hooded eyes and demonstrating how to apply makeup. Thank you so much - you look gorgeous 😍
These tutorials are great for us “aging” women. Someone commented about hooded eyes on young women, and, truth be told, she’s right. They’re not exactly “hooded”. So between age, and Botox or Juveau injections, this is great to see!! In another one I watched, as soon as I saw primer & powder I was off. Powder isn’t the smartest thing to use, as it intensifies lines around the eyes 🤦🏻♀️. If you’re middle aged & climbing; stick to these exact type of tutorials and practice what’s best for you.
Perfect! That is exactly how I do my very hooded eyes, and it does have the desired affect. I was happy to see someone showing us how to do this who actually IS a bit older instead of a 20 yr old model whose skin is nothing like skin 50+ yrs old. I'm 71 now (older than you I'm sure) so I appreciate seeing results like this.
Thank you, Kerry-Lou! My eyes were my best feature when I was young, so my hooded, aged eyelids were very depressing. Other 'corrective' videos were very complicated and the result often overdone; but this is perfect: simple, natural and effective. Thanks again!
Thank-you kindly for being a lady. You seem to be gentle and kind. You are well-spoken, clear and informative. It is refreshing to watch a video without foul language. Thank-you kindly ❤️❤️❤️. I look forward to more.
this is what I have been looking for! I see so many people trying to do these videos and they're like 30ish and don't even have hooded eyes - I'm 65 and I really do have hooded droopy sagging eyes so thank you so much for this very helpful video!!
So glad you like this Michelle, I know what you mean, sometimes I look at the younger videos claiming they have a hooded eyes! I’m sure years from now they will look back and say “oh my goodness my eyes were not hooded, but they are now!” All the best to you! 😘
Just found you...and absolutely love you. Pushing the big 4-0 and I find myself searching for more age appropriate makeup videos. Also, my mom, who's almost 60 but looks 45, always wants me to do her makeup. So I'm desperately searching for mature make tutorials, done by mature people. Thank you so much for your help and your channel. You are GORGEOUS!
Thank you for such a simple and straight forward tutorial on making the best of hooded eyes. There are so many tutorials out there and they all faff about with tons of different shades, brushes etc and it just looks horrible when you try to replicate it. This is simple and extremely elegant ( just like you) and more age appropriate. I shall be trying this in the morning. Have a lovely day Kerry :)
Thanks so much Andrea, the idea for the video came about as I was doing my own makeup in a hurry, (As I usually am) I just used the one color, and wondered if my viewers would like it, or think it too simple. So thanks for the feed-back and I'm glad you liked it!
Agree 💯 Andrea! I want a straightforward approach to makeup - minus a gazillion brushes, multiple shades that promise to do this/do that. Looks great on the video but horrible on me and ends up aging me in general.
I always had hooded eyes which eventually affected my vision. It was such a boost when I had surgery to remove part of the skin. Very little pain and about a week of looking as if I had been in a fight:) Still sightly hooded a few years later so loved your video.
Very effective, very natural. It's been years since I've been able to work illusions with darker, more dramatic colors that made it easier. My hooded eyes really bother me because they make me look tired. I do my eyes pretty much like this but I'll follow your "recipe" next. Thank you!
I have never worn eye shadow because Of my hooded eyes, now I am nearly 50 they are a little worse. You video has given me hope and I am going to try this simple but very effective technique. It's the best demo I have seen thank you xx
I'm getting to my 46th years with very hooded and mature eyes and skin and I really appreciate your videos. Very useful! Love your style and fashionable way of getting older. Hugs from Italy
THANK YOU!!!!! As a naturally born "hoodie", I have always had trouble with eyeshadow looks. As a teeny-bopper learning from fashion mags, I couldn't understand why i could never replicate the beautiful and amazingly colorful looks, no matter how much I tried or practiced. RUclips and Google were non-existent, I didn't have anyone close who knew what they were doing, and the one person I was able to get "cosmetic advice" from was hell bent making me look like a clown. Magazines were my only real option. Today, there's so many tutorials out there, but they seem to be over the top difficult with several types of brushes, expensive products and just too much makeup for my liking. I highly recommend this tutorial for us "natural hoodies" as a perfect technique to build onto with more extravagant looks. Also, I absolutely love your hair. I have defended my grey from the very first strand and refuse to cover it. I'm not joking when I say that while others were dyeing their grey roots brown, I was dyeing my brown roots grey. Today, I'm about 70% to my goal of having the beautiful white/silver/grey hair I've always wanted. My daughter is getting ready to hit her teen years, so I'm guessing I'll be at 100% in zero time.
Thanks for your feed-back about your hooded eyes journey. I really believe we should not see hooded eyes as a negative thing, we just have to do our makeup differently! I wonder what percentage of the world has naturally hooded eyes? I'll bet it's most of the population! Good luck with your teen! xx
Thank you for sharing. I’ve been doing this technique since turning sixty, and it works! I appreciate you sharing the names of the products you used, too. I will need to check some of them out.
For ladies that aren’t comfortable with their mascara wand I was taught in beauty school to actually bend the wand to your eye shape. They’re easy to bend so don’t be afraid.
I keep on watching this video, every time I will put eyelashes and eyeliner to my eyes, I can't do your amazing subtle style, still hard for me, but still will.. Thank you Kerry! God bless you!.
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial that I recently discovered. I followed your techniques (after watching it a half dozen times) and I finally look, well, pretty good for a 74 year old with very hooded eyes. I have subscribed to your channel and really appreciate your tips. You are a beautiful lady!
Thank you so much for this video! I am a licensed cosmetologist and I have a few weddings to do this summer. A couple of my brides are not in their 20s or 30s anymore and I will be helping out a couple of the mothers of the bride as well. Very informative video and channel for proper techniques on more mature women.
Glad it was helpful, I've always loved working with mothers of the bride, they are usually afraid of too much makeup, so I love to give them a vibrant, natural or glam look! Even if I do a glamorous look, I always keep the foundation natural looking - a good thing for a younger mua to note is that you cannot "cover" wrinkles, and that's OK. I like to play-up the clients best features. All the best to you!
You are a beautiful woman, with or without makeup! I'm in my early 70's, Asian, & definitely have hooded eyes; therefore, your tutorial video would really help me & women out there with same issues. Thank you so much for showing us your technique. Have a wonderful day & GOD BLESS 🙏🙏🙏
Love it..nice and simple and can definitely see a difference! This is just what I've been looking for as most of the hooded eye videos I see are younger people just born with that eye shape. Not on us seniors. Thank you!!!
Shared to Pinterest as usual lovely lady and I'm sure that you're aware you're getting over 70K views now! Thank you for your remarkable content. You're helping thousands of women around the world to embrace their age and to believe in themselves no matter how old they are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💖 (Gorgeous Old Gals) xxxx
I have hooded eyes, too, with a bit downward slant. I do wear eyeliner at times but I find that the thinner the line, the more it enhances my eyes. I really enjoy your tutorials. I especially enjoy your honesty and you don't make women feel bad about their flaws and/or maturity...instead, you show us how to make the most of what we have as mature women, and your positive personality shines through! As a result, I personally feel 'positive' about myself. Thanks so much! ❤
You found me just when I needed you. My 50 year old eyes are begging to be a little saggy in the skin and I never knew what to do with my hooded eyes which hood over the end of my eye. Your eyes are beautiful and I feel inspired again.
I have 1 eye that is more hooded, as did my mum and one grandson. Thanks so much. And I have only found you in 2 videos and have to say love love that your makeup looks so natural not as if have a full face on. Beautiful!
Thank you so much! I love your natural and fresh look! I get so confused about what to do. I think I have been applying too much and too dark of a shadow in an attempt to "lift" my eyes! I will definitely try your colors and technique tomorrow morning!
It's not fair how good your skin looks Lady! I wish I didn't sun bathe when I was in my early twenties! How do you temporarily smooth or fill wrinkles before applying makeup?
Great tutorial, you really represent all of us women that after 60 look great and young looking. I think that taking care of myself and look the best is good for the physical and mental health, bravo👍
Kerry-Lou I'm so glad I found your channel I'm 55 and don't were makeup for the simple fact that I don't know how to apply it. I especially love your method for cream blush.
Wow Thank you so much! I have watched countless videos only to be dissapointed on my outcome. I completely stopped wearing makeup at work due to it being such a mess, just mascara. I tried this today for a wedding and it came out great! It was simple, and straightforward. So excited going forward that I finally can do my own makeup! only took me 58 years!
Your video just popped up on my feed & couldn’t be more timely. I’m a hooded eye 74 y/o former makeup wearer. I stopped using makeup when it began to gravitate to the wrinkles! Then came the cataract & lens implants. I can certainly see better. I’m just nervous about using stuff on my eyes. This gives me hope. I did notice the drs assistant, who has had these surgeries wears eye makeup. So when I go Weds for a checkup, I’ll inquire as out it. You’re video was wonderful. Thank you ❤️
Hi Bonnie, yes please check with your doctor and hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy some makeup when you feel like wearing it. So glad you like the video, thanks for watching! 😘
Thank you so mucho for this simple makeup which makes a big difference. I have hooded eyes mostly genetics from my mom, and I'm always looking for ways to disguise it. I also need to mention that I love your beautiful accent, Lovely! Thanks again!🌷
Very noticeable difference, thank you. My eyes have hooded alot the past year or two and it really aggravates me. Unless I intentionally have my opes open wide I almost like high or very sleepy grrr
I like how straightforward this is. I love daytime looks. I've been trying to darken the outer third to the outer half of the lid on top of the steps you showed here, but it makes my eyes look weird. It makes the area sink back a lot and the front area look oddly protruding. Doesnt look good. Perhaps that applications doesnt look good on all eyeshapes.
Yes, there are so many ways to do the hooded eye. That's why it's a good idea to apply while your looking directly at your open eye, at least to begin with, so you can see the effect, and evaluate as you go along. Thanks for watching Liz.
thank you so much, the look is very light an d natural. I try all the time to do my eye makeup for hooded eyes but there is so much makeup it just looks too make up. I love this technique and will be trying it today!
Hooded eyes or not, you are a lovely lady who looks great and speaks beautifully. Graceful, charming and elegant. A wonderful example, with a bit of luck, we could age gracefully. Thanks for giving us a glimmer of hope.
I have hooded eyes and I hate makeup. Your tutorial is helpful and you don't chirp at us like the kids on here. Lol thanks for doing your thing in front of us. I might learn makeup yet....
Love your channel! I would like to see you do this instruction with cream shadows. I think they are much better on mature eyes, especially if you have dry eyes. My eye doctor recommended them.
Thank you! On a day-to-day basis, I do not use liner under my eyes, but it does depend on the look I am trying to achieve. On some of my other videos, you will see me using some eyeliner, specially for the more intense glamorous looks 😉🌸
I liked the way you made a point not to shame people who have hooded eyes, whether natural in youth or from aging. Being one of the latter, I'll give your suggestions a try! :)
This is awesome, however, I was hoping Kerry would have demonstrated with her more hooded eye, her right one. Finished product is lovely, tho, thank you
I just recently started viewing your videos. I believe this is a great tutorial. Do you have any tips for people who look sick? I was diagnosed with Leukemia and am 57 . I never use much makeup but would like to use make up to cover the sickly look I have especially for my family’s sake. God bless you your beautiful. 🦋
Hi Lorraine, Thank you for watching, and for your nice compliment. I am so sorry that you are suffering with Leukemia. There are a couple of things you could use for when you want to feel better about your appearance. usually with an illness like this, you can look sallow, and under eye circles can look worse, (I am guessing this, having never met you in person). I can give you some advice on how to help, but It's better if you email me - My contact info is on the video description - and send me a photo of yourself. That way I can give you some tips. God bless :-D
Hooded eyes since birth so obviously aging hasn't helped any. I've watched many hooded eye videos and to be honest their eyes didn't look hooded to me at all. Thank you so much for this video, you have greatly helped me!

Hi Kerry-Lou. I just came upon your channel and I’m so pleased! Excellent demonstration with excellent products and techniques. I subscribed right away. Not only are you beautiful you have the most beautiful teeth. Gonna watch the rest of your videos. Thanks again for helping us move mature gals with our special needs. Ta! 💕🐱🌸🌷💄😘
Such lovely comments 💕. Just going through my own brushes (which are getting a little long in the tooth [also]) to see how many I need from your fabulous collection. Cheers Kerry-Lou 👍😊
Very impressed by this I've had to have a surgical procedure twice as during another surgery my eyes blew out like two half tennis balls, the two surgical processes after to my eyes didn't work, surgical tape stitch burns my skin bad in like one second, so I was left with scars on my eyebrows and baggy eyes this looks great going to try now
Subscribed, I loved this informative tutorial. I’m so tired of young women who don’t even have hooded eyes trying to tell me how to apply makeup to my hooded eyes. Mine are so hooded that my eyelids lay on my lashes.

Kerry-Lou I'm so glad I found your channel I'm 55 and don't were makeup for the simple fact that I don't know how to apply it. I especially love your method for cream blush.
I'm glad you're picking up a few tips, thanks for watching!
LOVE how clear you are on how to achieve this exact look. 👍🏽
Thanks for your feed-back Denise, I am so happy that you liked this makeup techniques and that it worked for you! All the best to you x
My kids just fell within the last month, so this is great to see! Thanks much!
The best tutorial on how to apply eye shadow to hooded eyes. Thank you so much❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much !!!! Finally I see quick make up for REALLY hooded eyes . ❤ you look absolutely beautiful
!!!!!!!
Thank you so mucho for this simple makeup which makes a big difference. I have hooded eyes mostly genetics from my mom, and I'm always looking for ways to disguise it. I also need to mention that I love your beautiful accent, Lovely! Thanks again!🌷
Thank you, you're very kind. I appreciate your watching the video. I'll be doing some bolder looks for hooded eyes in the coming months :-D
Wow what an eye opener!
Wow, a real hooded eye for us to copy!
This video was fantastic!! Easy to follow and now I know how to apply eye make-up for my eye type. Thank you!!!
So glad this was helpful to you, thank you Jill! 🌸
Hooded eye girl here, thank you.
I am so GRATEFUL I found you and this video.....thank you for teling us exactly what you are using......love from Canada
thank you so much, the look is very light an d natural. I try all the time to do my eye makeup for hooded eyes but there is so much makeup it just looks too make up. I love this technique and will be trying it today!
I'm glad this techniques appeals to you Andrea, thanks for watching!
Hooded eyes or not, you are a lovely lady who looks great and speaks beautifully. Graceful, charming and elegant. A wonderful example, with a bit of luck, we could age gracefully. Thanks for giving us a glimmer of hope.
Thank you so much 🤗
Great video! Simply explained for someone who just learned they have 'hooded eyes'. =)
Thanks so much Kerry-Lou, great video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You must be psychic! I am about to make one using cream shadows. Should be in about a month. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
Virginia Mallonee iih
I too have dry eyes. I don’t wear shadow anymore, but am considering. This is good to know!
Enjoyed immensely, model has glowing skin! Hope she continues; lov the simple method and the minimal amount of effort.
Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed this 😊
Wow ! Im so glad i found this!

Just need to stop my eyes from watering all the time first
Thank you 🙏.
Thank you. Simple, natural and so effective. Do you avoid using liner under the eyes?
Thank you! On a day-to-day basis, I do not use liner under my eyes, but it does depend on the look I am trying to achieve. On some of my other videos, you will see me using some eyeliner, specially for the more intense glamorous looks 😉🌸
Beautiful and yes that is a hooded eye, this is what I have a problem with , thank you so much ❣️🫶
You’re welcome 😊 thanks for watching!
Thanks honey for this simple straight forward tutorial 💕 Have a great week 👍😊
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
@@kerrylou3 Have a great week looking forward to your next video my dear 👍💞😁
I liked the way you made a point not to shame people who have hooded eyes, whether natural in youth or from aging. Being one of the latter, I'll give your suggestions a try! :)
She looks beautiful with or without makeup!
Kerry-Lou, you're an instant makeup crush!✨ Such a profound understanding of harmony and how to work with the natural features.
Thank you so much, what a nice compliment! xx
So simple yet so effective. I'm going to go try that. Thanks!
This is awesome, however, I was hoping Kerry would have demonstrated with her more hooded eye, her right one. Finished product is lovely, tho, thank you
So happy to find this video. Have subscribed only because l was so impressed by the difference it made. Thank you.
You look so natural beautiful!
Thank you!
What a lovely lady and the eye make up was perfect and really makes a difference. Thank you
I just recently started viewing your videos.
Thank you so much Dawn, I am glad this video was helpful to you! 😊
This is so pretty and simple! 🥰 I sent this to my mum, she struggles with eye makeup and has quite hooded lids
So easy so natural! Thank you thank you.
Thanks Nan, glad you liked it!
You are a beautiful woman, I’ll try your way, is been years since I apply make up , I used to love to do my eyes and I did them beautifully, I’m now 71 also with short gray hear, thank you ☺️
Thanks Teresa, it's fun to try a new way to do things!
Wonderful video for an everyday magic for hooded eyes. 😊
So glad you liked it!
Wow. What a difference. I’m going to try this tomorrow morning.
Thanks, let me know how it went!
Yay! it's Jen! Write me an email if you want a set, (Special Jen price
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍rrrr
Thank you, Kerry. Appreciate your tutorials so much❤️🌈👏
Please have her do her RIGHT EYE ‼️ It is MUCH more hooded. That would help me much more. Thank You♥️
Pam Hamilton I agree I have one eye that’s much more hooded than the other one.
Pam Hamilton I thought the
very same thing.
I was hoping she'd do her right eye too. Mine are the same - right one is much more hooded.
I agree - it the comparison at the end feels a little cheaty, especially as the change is very subtle!
Really enjoyed this tutorial
..just a touch intimidating as it looks as if you have applied base eye makeup/ mascara already
Very impressed by this I've had to have a surgical procedure twice as during another surgery my eyes blew out like two half tennis balls, the two surgical processes after to my eyes didn't work, surgical tape stitch burns my skin bad in like one second, so I was left with scars on my eyebrows and baggy eyes this looks great going to try now
So sorry to hear of what you've been through, wishing you all the best!
@@kerrylou3 thank you I really like the effect I'm getting told I look younger so it's obviously working thanks again
Love the music playing. The all your great tips. Your eye looks great.
Thank you so much!
Best hooded video I’ve seen on RUclips thank you I will try it
Such a great compliment, thank you so much! 😘
You are so beautiful!! Thank you for the great information!! 👍🏻❤️
Thank you. What a difference! I will absoloutly try this!! :)
Subscribed, I loved this informative tutorial. I’m so tired of young women who don’t even have hooded eyes trying to tell me how to apply makeup to my hooded eyes. Mine are so hooded that my eyelids lay on my lashes.
Thank you so much for subscribing! I know, mine get lower by the minute lol! That's OK, we'll all go through this journey together!
I think you look great. This technique is perfectly subtle.
Wow Kerry, you really take my fear of getting older, you're gorgeous 😍 subscribed, we're all not getting any younger, so I'll start preparing my beauty knowledge for later
