I want to get one will I still be able to use my night park heater through the screen as on old screen .

I actually ordered basically the same setup (that radio model was on a sale now - IB9053BL) and will replace the old Android radio installed (only KitKat 4.4.4 and can not use newer apps any longer). My current radio doesn't allow me to reset the onboard computer values, so the i-bus dongle is needed for sure. I will add a reverse camera as well and a DAB+ tuner.
Thank you for bringing this incredible app to my attention. Updating my original unit with dead spots in the screen is a real option now.
It was one the things that made me comfortable putting an android in my old x5 back in the day.
Same!! Half my screen is dead. Need to change it ASAP. Now I see that I can still control the essential things I needed to be able to still use, so excited!

Well before you splurge...... Most e9x and e8x androids dont actually need the ibus app. Its more so for the older vehicles. Did your car original have CIC or CCC?
Your car should defo have it already! It comes through on factory stereo if u have I drive or not!

Wish I'd found your channel this time last week before I started fitting my head unit - which funnily enough looks identical to yours.
I've not got the DSP so not as much hassle, but the trying to route the cables were a nightmare and took an hour to get the glove box back on. My I-Bus dongle is currently on its way from Germany to the UK, although i went for the full kit with the quadlock adaptor for easier wiring.
Ahhh its really quite confusing the first time you tackle this stuff. Dont let it get to you, i went through the same with my old E53 a few years ago. If you have any questions just let us know.

Would you recommend the I-Bus for the E46 as well? I've got an E46 and an E53, got an Xtrons head unit in the E46 as well but it came with an after market head unit when i bought it, so no idea what i'm not getting
@@TrevM0nkey I would redcomend it for the 46, yes absolutely.
because of decent hardware in the cheaper units (8 cores) I'm actually interested in discoverying what's the main differences in the headunits. I have been trying to get some info from the X5 Facebook groups but no luck there. on paper the Xtrons and others are comparable at everything except the price which is mostly double on the Xtrons.
After having both a cheaper one and more expensive, its mainly software from what i can tell. However, the xrtons units do tend to just simply work better. This unit does have a nice feel to it build quality wise and the updated harness they use is also quite good.

Oiltemp is supported with m54 engines only, as far as I read... resler interface is discontinued and a new interface is expected to be released in march!
thankyou for confirming. That makes a lot of sense and why i have never been able to get it working on a V8.
What is shown on the dashboard is the coolant temperature, not the oil temperature. If I have to guess the car has no oil temperature sensor and therefore this unit is not showing it.
Awesome i want one now! BTW I bet your rear tail lights need soldering to stop the quick flashing, i had to do mine and not had a problem since!

I have two 03 L322 RR's one with an Eonon PX30 (OS.10) I'm very pleased with it, but this app and your video just blew me away though. Placing an order now, one question not covered in comments, small but irritating! will it reset the analog clock? And have there/are you, aware of any major changes since January? many many thanks, just subscribed.

Hi guys I have this in my 4.6is and got the oil temp to work, I'll check what it was I changed and get back to you.
That would be awesome. I had another quick play last night and there are just so many settings.
@@ZeroTo60Tube if you go to settings, then on board computer, scroll down to oil temperature and change it to LCM 4, shut down the app and restart, that should get it for you.
@@mapblue I have tried that, however hadnt tried restarting the app till just now. Still no temp showing. Do you have to wait a certain amount of time? Temp is working on the cluster, just still zero reading in the app.

Need the ekombi module to get the oil temperature. But fairly pricey to get from Germany 🇩🇪.
Ok I got the same unit for my E53 and haven’t installed it yet. Notice you only show the Android feature and especially that one App and nothing else. Would have helped to see all of the cool features of this device and not just your favorite App.
Is it possible to show how you wired up the unit to be able to turn on. I have 4.8is that has the same rear connectors as yours

I have e39 '98 with basic stock cassette radio unit without any stuff in the boot. I'm planning to switch it to Xtrons unit however I'm wondering if there will be a wires present to connect ibus dongle. Is there any way to check it before removing radio unit?

Did you ever get the oil temp monitor working. Thanks for your bmw vids they have been a great help as a noob to these cars. Also😁 what trans fluid did you use in your x5 E53 when you did that work on the other vid
unfortunately no. Which is bizzare as the dash cluster has oil temp, so its on the kbus.
@@ZeroTo60Tube The oil temp is actually on the CAN bus coming from the ECU.
Mate, enjoy your vids on the E53. Taking your word for it on the Xtrons units as being the best of the bunch you’ve used to date. Also the ibus app seems a must have. Not your problem of course, but before I lay out for a unit I’m minded to get some info direct from Xtrons but I’m not getting anywhere finding a contact that actually replies. This doesn’t seem to have deterred you, or are they better at contacting you in Aus?
I have only contacted them once android got a reply from the xtrons eBay seller with in 24 hours.
However my mate just got a very fresh unit with amoled (I think) screens. He lives about 100ks away but I am hoping to check it out in the next few weeks. He says it’s light years above the rest. So hold off for now.

I think they may have also changed the wiring loom to do away with the need to cable a loom through to the trunk, but that’s not super clear from the spec on the PQ1053BL. I’m guessing if you fit a back up camera you’ll need to run a loom regardless. Interesting to know if your mate needs to run to the trunk on his unit or if the wiring is ‘plug/play’. Also having issues with lights...even though the bulbs are supposed to be error free. Resistors incoming I guess.

Can’t you set the time and date by twisting the mileage stalk thing in the cluster? Pretty sure that’s how u do it on e46s n would of thought it would of been the same for yours! Cool piece of kit the xtrons have been looking to get it for my e92 ad can run the mhd app n connect it to the WiFi adapter for live data n logging!
Unfortunately not in the e53, they only have a single BC button, no twist knob like the later ones.

Hello there, i have a 2004 BMW X5 3.0i Sportpack (20" wheels and exhaust tips). i need to remove the pioneer punch screen that was installed before i bought it, you have alot of info - is it possible to still buy the Extron units and what radio CAN you still buy - i looked at the eonon but he couldn't get the reset and numeric information working - wondering if ibus would work on this .. i would like something easy to get working. can you suggest any videos to help. am a real novice in this area. all suggestions/help suggested. wondering about reversing camera - oil temp would be nice too. ;-) thanks i use Carly at the moment for checking things (full app) just want to get it working without major headaches. doing a lot of repair work mechanically.

Hello. Do i need an ibus usb connector to connect the original dsp on bmw e53 x5 on an android radio?
So I have an 05 x5 e53 4.8 with a dsp amp in the trunk. I have the xtrons head unit and the 6m extension cable. No sound currently. Do I need the iBus in order for it to work with the original amp?
Where do I order this ?? Have xtrons in mine too.
I am looking forward to your reverse camera video! My one has cameras installed but when I shift to reverse it just comes up with exclamation mark, but when I go to DVR app both cameras work fine!

Just installed an xtrons radio with the ibus controller. Can’t log into the google user accts to download the app. Also the subwoofer sounds out of balance. Is there a way or an app that can control the amp so that I can adjust every channel. Thanks

Can anyone help me on fixing a no sound condition after 20 or so key cycles. I never had the issue prior to installing an aftermarket stereo. 2002 BMW E53 4.4 had factory DSP w/o Nav. I purchased a Dynavin 6 HU in 2015 and its done it from day one. The Dynavin Rep said it was a mixed handshake signal to the amp.
But after all these years im convinced its the Dynavin Product not the car. Thinking of replacing the unit for another like Xtron or Avin. If there is a way to fix this without buying new unit please let me know.
My son has the car now and hes a new driver and he slips the car into Neutral and restarts the car to remedy the issue...... super dangerous. Thanks again

Your's being the 2013, means you will have the CIC unit. So in all honesty if you dont want to watch videos while driving, you could get away with one of the carplay units. Is watching videos (youtube) a big concern?

@@rueben68 I prefer the andoird myself for that exact reason and with a carplay dongle you have that function anyway. This is the one i would currently go for ebay.us/Irroz9 it has a better bluetooth chip than the one in my e92. But ither than that very similar.

Hey hoping you can help. I’ve received the dongle, installed it. Downloaded the app. Eng speed is showing so I assume usb is working. Do I need to buy the license in order for the resseler to send a signal to my dsp in order for my audio to work? Still have no sound :(
Check your grounds in the back! I used to have check tail lights, plate lights, backup light warnings all the time. Added an additional ground to the tail lights and found a loose ground by the exhaust pipes, problem gone. Do you have any signs of water getting back there? my original GPS and cd changer are completely unusable, rusted out. Previous owner installed an aftermarket unit and I guess he never noticed the small pool he was carrying in the back. I sealed the tail lights and cleaned the sunroof drains but I still have some water getting to the rear corner, very weird.
There has been water back there for sure. It's what killed the amp, but the previous owner has put drain holes in the car. Its definitely an intermittent.
I noticed you didn't screw down the headunit. Mine doesn't fit properly due to the middle part of the AC vent obstructing the back of the headunit screen enclosure

Sadly the radio installers could not get it to work in my vehicle. They said the iDrive definitely would not work and in the meantime they messed up my rare view camera.

There is a guide on the ibus app wiki page. I havent doen it personally as you need to pay for an additional license.

Nah way easier then, just plug and play on the original plug
I still need to do this for my E46 but after i buyed a 335i i didn't get to it put i all my money in the 335i
Tough one, if you plan to keep the 46, its definitely worth doing. So much customisation with the app.

I got the ibus app, the milage is wrong. Does this mean the car has been adjusted or is the ibus milage unreliable. There's no tamper light on, and all certs history show that it hasnt been adjusted
How different are you two numbers? From memory dealers could reset the speedo if they had up to 50 or 100klms on them. So people would get 0 miles on the cluster at collection when new, but the car would have had delivery miles obviously.

In a previous video you mentioned the android had very low voltage on the rca outs. Is there another product, or additional equipment that will increase the voltage.
TBH if you are not going for audiophile quality, it really doesnt matter. However if you are, you just need a decent DSP and get custom tuned to your vehicle and make sure its doing all the sound processing. But a good DSP is thousands to set up.

@@ZeroTo60Tube I've got 2 x5 1 is 2001 the other is 2006. Neither of them have the dash windshield speaker.
Yet the wiring schematics show them. Any insights you have on this? If they were there, what would they be? a full range, mid range, or high range. I'm assuming the speaker at the corner of door window frame(s) is a tweeter.
Hey I just purchased an e53 4.8is. Are you able to lower/raise the suspension with the ibus app through the android unit or do you still need laptop with INPA?

How do you remove all the side panels in the trunk, I need to run the 6m dsp extension cable but cant find any guides online
Checkout the install video I did. I do it with out removing the main panels.
I couldn't work it out either and had no through channel like in their install video. but there is a hole which comes out between the rear seats, that the extension cable fits through.
I've not fully fitted it yet though to see if there's any sound distortion as there is another cable going through there

What about e90/e60 Android units? Is it possible to use this app with these units? Or is a different app at least to see coolant/oil temperature, voltage?
Unfortunately there is no real need on the e90/e60 as you can always switch back to the original CCC or CIC display.
@@ZeroTo60Tube previously I had MASK and it didn’t show temperatures. Mostly I would like to see coolant temperature because it is hidden in dashboard settings :( also boost pressure would be great to 🙂
I have x5 e53 cant get steering wheel control working. It's starts for second and then stops. I have xtron head unit
There may be something blocking the canbus. If a module on the bus is faulty it will cause the buttons to only work intermittently
@@ZeroTo60Tube so maybe i just take it off and use ibus for steering wheel control. Or it won't work?! In ibus settings you can choose which you would like to use. Need a tick a box. So i will try to take out CANbus or better ask seller to send new Canbus adapter
I was told to turn off CAN-BUS on head units factory settings but it was already off i even took it out-disconnect.
And on I-Bus app SWBC -stearing wheel button cinttol i turned on-off and
And steering wheel buttons is working. As soon as i turn off car and start it again steering wheel control doesn't work.
So really don't understand what's happening. With CAN-BUS or without CAN-BUS i have exactly the same issues. And also head unit keeps crushing-stuck on one screen or stuck blank. I have xtron PQ1053BL
your light issue its a earth issue wait til u start using indicators and lights flicker or wipers start working when indicating or turning on headlights lol
check all clubs replace rusted ones clean any rusted earth replace or add ne earth to chassis
Hi I've bought a e53 recently and it came with an android headunit but it didn't work, I bought a new dsp and can get it to work for 45 seconds thats with the old stereo plugged in too, and then it turns off. It will only play radio too. If I try Bluetooth or USB, it says its playing but there is no sound? Do I need the ibus app to get it working properly? Thanks in advance. Its driving me crazy lol.
Yes, I haven’t done it, but the ibus app will send the required signals to the dsp amp to keep it turns on.

Sorry for the long reply we missed this message. Unfortunately you can not get the trans temp to display on the ibus.

@@fernandobullon430 Even with the license. The trans temp data is not on the Ibus in the car, so this system can't pick it up. The license is a one time only thing. So once the vin is registered you dont need to pay again.

@@fernandobullon430 The autel connects on the OBD port which has access to all the data in the car. These ibus apps only have access to the data on the ibus. which is mainly audio, lighting and dash cluster info.

TO be honest, we just got them from ebay.
I have the XTRONS ANDROID 9 with IBUS-app. However the only thing that's correct is the RPM and the collant temp. All the other numbers are incorrect. Does anyone have any idea why?
Have you paid for the license to unlock the features?
@@ZeroTo60Tube yes, it's unlocked. The outdoor temp says 174F and I have 94 gallon of fuel. Sometimes, it shows the correct values briefly. Recently many of the values only show "----". RPM is usually correct. Odometer is correct but lagging.
My lights all went crazy last night. Indicators, high beam would flash randomly. I was about to buy a new LCM, then I decided to try to unplug the resler dongle. All the weirdness stopped. I proceeded to reset the Ibus-App, now everything works. All the data is there and matches the IKE. Somehow the Ibus-App is blasting stuff on the Ibus.

You could, but MHD wont connect this these older generation cars.
