- In this video, we do a walk around and short ride out of this interesting 1980 Honda CB400A Hondamatic. She's all original, except for the pattern silencers. It was great fun to ride, but certainly takes a little getting used to.
Unusual but a nice classic bike, I like autos in bikes and cars they give a relaxing ride, it’s a good alternative to a scooter. I can hear the engine has the well known rattley camchain noise.
Enjoyed the vid, thanks.👍
Thanks for your feedback. It was an unusual and fun thing, to take around the yard.
My second bike was a 1980 Honda Hawk ("Dream" in the U.K.) 400. Great bike 👍
I've always liked the Dream. In fact, I like them all...Dream...Super Dream...Hondamatic...
I had the 250 Dream version of this bike back in March 1978 and it was the same colour.
I "Loved" the look of the bike, and it was big for a 250 as it was designed as a 400 like the
one you are riding. I went on to buy the SuperDream (SuperHawk in US) and also later
bought the CM250 Custom, in a kind of metallic red colour with bronze sides on the tank
and side panels. All lovely bikes.
The Dream was nice. It was a short production run. I had a friend who had one. I had a Super Dream.
@@MotorcycleFettlers I had all 3 variants.
The Dream, SuperDream, and US Custom
versions. All were really nice Bikes.
We're hoping to take out a 400 Super Dream, at the weekend.
@@MotorcycleFettlers Well, I hope the
Weather holds out for you, and doesn't
turn your SuperDream into WetDream
Nightmare!
Well...we got to take the 400 out. What a delight it was. Checl out our video if you haven't, already.
still have this? are you in Sussex?
Oxfordshire. It's sold now. Charlie get these from time to time, so always worth taking a look at his site.

The perfect commuter.
