- I headed out for a Sunday ride to the mountains on my Scoot and didn't make it 4 miles when I saw my old bike for sale. Well it is a possibility that it was/is my old bike. I had a great time with the old handicapped man that was selling it and he followed me home where I purchased it for a song. Here is my first walk around unedited exactly as I received it.
Enjoy
I had a lot of motorcycles over the years. I had two automatic Honda's and the 400 Honda had over 78.000 miles on it . run like a champ ! you can not kill this motors
This was my very first real bike back in 1989! God I miss her so much. Great vid great BIKE!
Mine too man, I had it my Sr year of HS a little bit after the movie Purple Rain came out! It was fun taking chicks for a ride on it, man I miss it badly!
Reno that thing is a gem! I got me one too! It's needing some work but all is about the same condition as yours here! Cheer's,and have fun safe riding!
Beautiful bike
I knew of a guy that road one of those. Little remembered guy named Prince in a movie called Purple Rain.
I have a 1980 CM400E. Still ride it
That's an awesome find, and even better that it might be your old bike. Perhaps when you register it the DMV can tell you. Enjoy it.
Thanks
Unfortunately they were no help. There was a big gap in ownership and no records before 1998
I have the identical bike! Even the same color!
You know DMV can tell you every registered owner of that bike and if you're one of them they can tell you that it was you. They can't tell you who the other people were but if you were one of the owners and it was registered to you then they will tell you
this vid is rad =) keep em up Reno!
Thanks
Hope school goes good for you this semester and Happy Birthday dude!
I have the same year same color but mine has different bars and air forks. Very nice bike and I was surprised by the highway capability
Very cool!
Thanks
Beautiful shape, Mine is such a rat. But they are so much fun to ride. Yours has the wrong handlebars and front turn signals though.
Yup swapped them out about a month after the video.
SO cool!
Really freaky for sure Dave Thanks
Rode it to bike night and met up with a fellow on a 1971 Suzuki RE5 rotary bike.
Now rhats the ride for me!
They are very fun little bikes
Do you think this bike will fit someone who is 5'0-5'1?
How expensive are the repairs on the automatic diff? Are parts reasonably available?
Nice bike
Would you be interested in selling it?
Do you think it's suitable for someone who is about 5'3 or 5'4?
Yes Definitely! It has a nice low seat height on the mid-sized frame.
I am 5'5" and it for me perfectly. Great for short folks and easy for new riders. Will do highway speeds also with ease. Love this thing.
i got one i ride in England, imported from the us. Its quite a high spec bit of kit for a 1979 bike.
Slow but super smooth and in London traffic the auto box is god send.
