Honda CBR600 F2 - Remove Ignition Coils
In this video, we remove the ignition coils from this 1994 Honda CBR600 F2 that we're stripping down. It's a simple task and we've now removed everything that we need to, to allow us to drop the engine. This is part of our series where we strip down a bike to see if the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. It's a shame to take an old bike off the road but it's not really economically viable to restore it. Hopefully the parts will help to keep some other old bikes on the road.

In this video, we remove the exhaust system from this 1994 Honda CBR600 F2 that we're stripping down. It's a simple task, hampered by the level of rust; it's amazing what a little heat can do. Honda CBR600 F2 - Can You Turn a Profit on Parts?
Просмотров 2206 месяцев назад
In this video, we do something a little different. We've bought this 1994 Honda CBR600 F2 for not a lot of money. It's complete, but a little rough for us to want to spend the money and time to get it back on the road. We could just put it on eBay and turn a small profit, however, we though we'd do an experiment to see if we can strip it down and turn a decent profit on the parts. If you've eve...

In this video, we perform a filter and oil change on this Royal Enfield Meteor 350. We also take the opportunity to check and clean the oil strainer. The Metor 350 uses the J-Series engine, so this tutorial is suitable for any models with the same engine, including the Classic 350, Bullet 350, and the Hunter 350.

In this video, we do a walk around and short ride out of a classic 1972 Kawasaki KE175 F7, which is a US import. It's a nice little 2-stroke, but it does need a little TLC. With a little work, this will make someone a lovely little bike.
Kawasaki Z440 LTD - Walk Around & Short Ride Out (Classic Motorcycle)
Просмотров 9149 месяцев назад
In this video, we do a walk around and short ride out of a classic Kawasaki Z440 LTD, from 1984. Despite its American custom looks, this is a UK registered bike. It's done a fair few miles and judging by some oil, it could do with the head gasket being replaced. Its also mis-firing a little, so I expect that a plug is fouled, or the carbs could do with a clean. It' not my cup of tea but it's ac...
Honda CB550 K3 - Walk Around & Short Ride Out (Classic Motorcycle)

In this video, we do a walk around and short ride out of a classic Honda CB550 K3 from 1978. I probably say this about all the bikes we take out but I really, really, like this bike. It's a US import and is, mostly, original. Everything on it just looks really nice. It's had some repairs but the exhaust system is also original, which is a rare thing. I couldn't put it through its paces around t...
Suzuki GS550 L Custom - Walk Around & Short Ride Out (Classic Motorcycle)

In this video, we do a walk around and short ride out of a classic Suzuki GS550 L Custom, from 1981. It's an American import and is in remarkably good and original condition, sporting sound and original exhaust system, mudguards, and seat base. If you know your Suzuki GSs, you'll know that just like the GS750 and GS1000, these bikes have well-engineered and bullet-proof engines.

In this video, we do a walk around and short ride out of a classic 1974 Suzuki RV125 Sand Bike. It's a lovely little 2-stroke. It's a US import and that probably explains why it has not sufferedmfrom the rust, too much. It's mostly original and has had the fuel tank replace with an aluminium tank. Being a Suzuki from the early 70s, this is a well-built old thing. I really enjoyed taking this ar...
Moto Guzzi 1100 California Stone - Fit Main Stand
Просмотров 22410 месяцев назад
In this video, I fit a main stand to my newly acquired Moto Guzzi 1100 California Stone. This is the first of several jobs that I'm planning to do. I'm not sure why it did not already have a main stand fitted, so I had to purchase one from eBay. We also show you a tip for pretensoning the springs, to save you from buised knuckles and a lot of swearing, whilst trying to fit it.

Quel bruit magique !
I remember considering purchasing a new one in 1971-2, because it was rated at 15.1 HP, which would make it freeway legal in CA, but instead I bought a used 1971 CL175 Honda, 20 HP. And I put 20,000 miles on that bike with no problems!
Looks so good!
I had one in the 9os, both silencers rotted so I had a pair of gold star silencers made, both downpipes were ok , must admit it was a bit loud but it sounded great, it even had a twitter.
Is that 50 chain?
I wonder if you could take the master link off then replace the sprocket and add a half link to the chain.
Nice straight old bike.
Well I don't have a Honda CB in any engine size, what I have is a 2010 Honda Revo AT (Wave 110 AT in Thailand), it is a moped like Honda Super Cub series but in different style and CVT transmission , however it still has chain-sprocket drivetrain too.
I wasn't familiar with it but just had a look. It's a nice looking bike.
I had one of these back in the day. Was my first motorcycle. Super reliable and totally boring. Converted it into a nice Cafe racer but still no thrills. Sold it and got me a proper Brit bike. Still riding old Brit Bikes, but would rather quit motorcycles than buying another CB400N.
The Super Dream was never the most exciting. I loved my 250N back in the day but was envious of the 2-stroke boys.
Enjoyed that. Those speed bumps are a pain, pure overkill. Ride safe.
Thanks, you too!
Love what you’ve done to the bike. I own a red 350 Fireball. Just passed 500 miles and had its first service. I plan on changing the air filter cover so it breathes easier and changing the front sprocket. I’m not concerned about top speed, but as you say it has so much torque you are changing gear very quickly. Just wondering if you noticed any increase in fuel economy. That’s my main hope.
Thanks for the feedback. I hope you're enjoying your Meteor. Love mine.
My 2nd hill bike bk in 86 after Honda Express
I remember riding a Honda express back in the day. Good fun.
I had one, lovely sounding engine when up around the red line and the sound came from the fact that it was a 360 degree twin, like Triumphs, both pistons rising and falling together.
Thanks for the feedback. I it a lovely sounding thing.
Happy memories passed my test on one back very early eighties , in blue with a Rickman fairing , great little bike , passed test and jumped on a brand new cx 500 😊👍👍
Nice. I still have a CX500 but it doesn't get out much :-(
I have a 1983 cm 250 tb from 2008. It has the same engine, with 5 speeds instead of 6 and the sound is slightly different...
Interesting. I knew they were very similar engines.
Strange exhaust with that long horizontal outlet cut. I've never seen that before. Is it original?
I believe it is the original exhaust. It is very odd, for sure, but I liked it.
I had a new one in the 1984. It was a dream come through. I was only 18. Now i am 61. 2024.
A super dream come true. These are nice little bikes and go well.
Bought one today… I’m 42 I own a fireblade & a beta 250rr with it being tax and mot exempt it costs nothing to put on the road and insurance is £42 a year, I’ll pop to work on it that’s 6 miles up the road and potter around the village like a weirdo 😂
Potter around the village? You're ready for touring. I love little mopeds like this.
out of curiosity, why do you grease up most of the parts? I just got a 95; virago 535 and I'm just starting to work on it.
I may over grease but I work on the principle that it's better to have some than none. I;m not sure what you're specifically referring to but I always greast the bolts to help them come out in 30 years time.
Mine has the glass part broken where can i find a new one or whole manifold?
Are you talking about the master cylinder? I think we got ours from Yambits, here in the UK. I'm sure there are plenty of options to get these.
@MotorcycleFettlers perfect thanks man.
Had one of these in the 80s, lots of fun never let me down, got me on my way to the big stuff. 😊😊😊
It's an interesting bike. I liked it.
I've already bought 10w/60 fully synthetic. Won't matter if I use it in my 2000 EV, eh?
Hi. Can't really recommend oil. I'd check with a dealer, if in doubt.
I'm recommissioning a 2000 EV so have this job on my list for the weekend. Though I've the factory manual, it's always good to watch someone else do it first. I don't think you ever recorded the tank refit? Well, I couldn't find it. Thanks for this. Genuinely helpful.
Thanks for the feedback. I don't recall us doing the tank refit. Hopefully that means it was simples.

I definitely need to do this, now I wonder why I haven't before. Think it would come off as easily with the rear wheel in place?
If I remember rightly, it was fiddly but would come off with the rear wheel in place. I'm not 100% sure as we did have the wheel out.
great stuff, thanks. The swinging arm on mine looks pretty rough, but I assumed it would be a much bigger job to address it - you've made it look perfectly manageable. (So that's something else to add to my long list of jobs now...)
Thanks for the feedback. Good luck!
Is this definitely the original stock exhaust? Certainly looks like mine (1987 US import). If it's the same then one of the pipes is a dummy because there's only coming out of the collector box. I've been on a mission to strip dummy stuff off my bike, so I've removed the non-functional pipe. Doesn't look great though. I'm not a fan of the bulbous collector box either, but haven't yet taken the plunge to try a different setup. Looks like you're keeping this one fairly original?
Yes, this was the original exhaust. I don't recall one being dummy but it may be.
Mine's an '87, I don't have that plastic housing around the air filter, just enough to hold the filter in place, and a gap to suck air from between the front of the tank and the instrument lights. What's the large part of the housing on yours that extends back across the tank? And yours pulls air through the bottom of the plastic teardrop casing on the side? My one of those houses electrics…
I'd need to re-watch the video. I think it's just the airbox going up to the tank, and there's just electrics under the tear-drop covers. I'm not 100% sure.
A bike with an identity crisis. Two stroke twin cylinder GP inspired motor fitted with braced scramble bars as standard. It really needed clipons and a flyscreen.
It's definitely a unique little bike. We loved it.
Mine will be red, I like that color on this bike. Good review.
Thanks. These really are nice little bikes. I like the green, myself.
Great video. Bought my first bike and I am currently rebuilding my virago carbs and this was all I needed.
Glad it helped
I had an orange/black one around 1976. It was so light it kept blowing over in the wind while parked up on its stand, smashing the indicators. I also spent ages waiting for a throttle cable (three-way: one each carb plus oil pump), before persuading the dealer that one from a GT125 would fit. The points cover also came loose and dropped off and I didn't stand a chance of getting one of those.
I don't remember these, back in the day. They're great little bikes. They are quite light...
TRÈS JOLIE COLLECTOR TRÈS BELLE HONDA UN GRAND BRAVO
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks 👍
Glad it was helpful.
I went for 2 stroke when i rode in late 80s to 94 2 Yamahas and 2 Kawasakis but a mate had a z200 single four stroke and he loved it then swapped it for an x7 then an xs250.😅😅😊
2-Stroke was great, in the day and still is. I love this little Honda.
The way you put it in gear was brutal mate.....
I'll be more gentle, next time.

How much for your Suzuki stinger? How much do you want for that?
It is/was for sale by Oxford Classic Motorcycles. I don't recall the price. It is a very nice bike.
Thanks got myself a virago 535, bought it cheap because it got a sticky floater on the rear. Was a bit confused but your video helped
No problem 👍
Keep up with an RD?? What RD200?? I had an RD200 ( I registered it as a 125, naughty I know) My best mate had a CB250 and he couldn't keep up with the RD200...
You're probably right. It was 40 years ago. Let us have those memories.
My first road bike.same colour as this one back in 91.have another one now but I can't get it to run right unfortunately
I really like these. We've been looking to get one in the workshop but we've not found the right one, yet.
That's the smoothest sounding cb I've heard.i had one back in the ninetees, a T reg.it was really rattley but was 100% reliable.cost me £180
We'd recently adjusted the tappets and balance shaft and it was running smoothly.
I now own this exact bike, as in same number plate and everything! Had to undo a lot of the cosmetic mods the guy after you guys did but other than the rectifier going bad i've loved it!
Can't believe you found your bloody bike on RUclips just 😂only you hahaha but perfect for any problems you come up with xx
Nice one. Cosmetic mods?! Noooo.....You'll have to send us a pic. I have a little of the paint (Cocktail Orange) if you need it.
We had some fun working on this bike and made hours of video. Carb removal is a nighmare. Don't do it. Any problems with it, not our fault!
Just let my son know you replied. I'm sure he will send pics over 😊 and may be interested in that paint as the previous owner even used superglue for some of the stickers he added 😂 amazing bike though, love being his backpack 😂
I don't have much paint but if he wants it, he can just send his address to motorclyclefettlers AT gmail.com and I'll post it. I can also let him know where I bought it.
Super
Thanks
Nice bike. Last rode one of those in 1987, sounded just like that one too. Heard some rough sounding restoration jobs on YT lately, this is how they should sound.
Thnks. This one had a sweet engine.
I had a red one in 1994, it cost £1.75 to fill up and went 27mph top end
Oh...the days when you could fill up for £1. Happy days.
