Honda CBR600 F2 - Remove Ignition Coils
In this video, we remove the ignition coils from this 1994 Honda CBR600 F2 that we're stripping down. It's a simple task and we've now removed everything that we need to, to allow us to drop the engine. This is part of our series where we strip down a bike to see if the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. It's a shame to take an old bike off the road but it's not really economically viable to restore it. Hopefully the parts will help to keep some other old bikes on the road.

In this video, we do a walk around and short ride out of a classic Kawasaki Z440 LTD, from 1984. Despite its American custom looks, this is a UK registered bike. It's done a fair few miles and judging by some oil, it could do with the head gasket being replaced. Its also mis-firing a little, so I expect that a plug is fouled, or the carbs could do with a clean. It' not my cup of tea but it's ac...

Still got the full chainguard, which really saves on chains. I had a '78 blue one in the early '80s and it was bulletproof - kept me on the road as a student and then on the dole in the early to mid '80s. Did nothing to it except oils, filter, consumables, points once in a blue moon (and thrash it) from when I got it to when I sold it with over 70K showing and still running like a slightly rattly clock. Even had the original silencer, which was 'improved' when the rear baffle rotted out, liberating a bit more character.

I read a lot of mixed reviews on this mod. A lot claimed the 2bhp increase wouldnt be noticeable. Theres a local cutting, where when i head uphill (stock) at 80kmh, at full throttle i bleed speed to 70kmh in 5th gear. I literally fitted this air filter 1.5 hrs ago, and just got back from a test ride through said cutting. At full throttle up the hill, I went from 80kmh to 90kmh. TLDR: This air filter makes a big difference. As far as warranty goes, just fit the standard filter again before taking it for a service.

nice vid or would have been if the camera man had filmed all the adjustments, which he did not, (you were using a chisel on the sprocket tab????, your hand totally covered the action!, he did not move the camera to catch the visuals, amateur, he did not get the finished look of the tab at all, just left it hammering away, no idea what it should look like after the work with the chisel was done. This seems to be an important fettle but the bad camera work totally ruined it, pity.

Wow. Blame the cameraman / editor / comment responder. I am an amateur! You think someone pays me for this? If you could see what I have to work with everytime I piece together one of these videos... When you look at the sproket, initially, you'll see how the tab sits. He used a large screwdriver to start it off and then knocked it down with a blunt instrument (a bit like rhe camerman) so that the tab sits on the flat of the nut. A blunt chisel will do this if you're careful.

I had three of these whislt serving in the British military back in the late 70's early 80's. The last one kitted out for touring did 40,000 miles touring around the UK and Europe. I found them to be great machines even though they only had 34 horses. I've just gone and purchased a Triumph 400 speed because of this bike to tour Australia.

These were good old work horses. Triumph 400. Great choice.

You sound just like myself in regards motorcles. I've just purchased the Triumph 400 Speed 2025 model to tour around Australia (one of the largest continents on the planet). I've served with both British and Australian militarys, so for me its a way to get away from the PTSD and relax. I've ridden bikes for over 45 years and had bikes over 1000cc but the Speed 400 fitted just right for me at 66.

Bought my silver T reg second hand in 1979. It was a great design. Think I paid about £725 from a dealer in Salford. Used it during my time at Manchester Uni. Rode it several times down to London with a half fairing. Best bike for my height & weight. 👍 Still have some great photos of it 🏍️

According to my handbook if your bike is still under warranty you will possibly invalidate any claims if you modify the engine, air intake or exhaust system by fitting any non standard parts.According to some sources this air filter kit is not road legal ( also a lot of the aftermarket exhaust systems)as they don’t meet UK emission regulations ( which can be an MOT fail)I’m not saying don’t fit them but be aware, do some research first not only to the benefits to performance, looks or sound but that needs to be balanced with the potential cost !

Thanks for thre feedback. Fair comment with warranty that you can affect it. Dealers sell a lot of the mods that we have done. The exhaust we have is genuine RE. I'm not aware that we have done anything that is not road legal. Don't forget that you also have to advice insurance of any mods.
