It'd be nice to have the option. If all you have is the 32GB internal then you'll want it to be less than 3GB. If you have a 128GB+ SD card though then you'd choose uncompressed.

Well, Rayman Legends includes 40 of the levels from Origins with a WAY better art style. It's basically 2 games in one. I think both Origins and Legends are 10/10 masterpieces, but I'd choose Legends personally.
Sometimes I do hit 10, but very seldom do I see it. I believe one time it was 10 seconds because of a graphically intense level (I can’t remember which; I think it was in the last two story worlds) and I kept dying. When I completed it and went back to the hub, I was waiting longer than usual.
Walther Penne You can't actually use the touch screen in docked mode anyway. In this instance you'd need to connect two Switches, which is fine as Vita achieved it like this and Namco Museum does this on the Switch. You can connect two Switch systems and one person is Pac Man on the handheld and 3 people are the ghosts on the TV on the docked Switch
RIght; similarly to Pac-Man Vs, they should allow 4 players to play in docked mode while the fith player uses Murphy on a connected second Switch in handheld mode. I would buy this if they did this.
Actor Adam Anouer the OLED screen on the Vita is absolute dogshit. it has absolutely horrible clouding (I know it's not calles clouding on OLED screens but I forgot the right term... and it's basically the same thing anyways)
Kevboard Arts mura effect. Black spots caused by inconsistent power delivery to the screen. Luckily my vita has very little, but i had one once that had loads.
So due to the game being highly compressed its causing longer loading times I understand with the limited space the Switch has them doing this but it would be nice to have an option to offload the assets onto the SDCard then to remove or reduce the need to decompress the assets most Sony PSP games had this option...
He and I have different opinions about what is "unacceptable." Different hardware has different standards, regardless of the year in which it's released. Expecting the Switch to perform as well as a PC running games off a high performance SSD with the latest i7 is illogical.
My mistake sir. I didn't realize you were an expert on the subject! It's obvious to me now, given your eloquent and carefully considered way of speaking. Of course you would know these two systems better than the developers who have designed games for both.
The game apparently just received a patch from Ubi, to fix the framerate issues and make the loadings shorter, will we have a quick update from Digital Foundry on the topic ? 🙂
Everybody knows comments on the internet are shitty, we all know what we're getting ourselves into. It's comments like YOURS that are even more of a waste of time.
Adding an option to have less compressed assets would probably most of the problems then. On the PSP version of Persona 3 you could install some files to the storage to improve loading times, that was more of an issue with UMDs, though. I don't see it being outrageous to have an update with an extra download if it can improve loading times and maybe the odd frame drop. I invested in a 128GB SD card so I'm not really feeling any squeeze.
Honestly there are no dealbreaking problems here. But the way you talk about them make them sound worse than they actually are. The fact we get a file size divide by 4 and that it looks identical to the PS4, and you can take with you on the go at 60fps, with all the content thus far... It clearly makes it the best version available. The minors performance are not even present when you go through the same section again, which you do a lot in this game since you die a lot. And dips in the mid 50s are usually never a problem when they happen on PS4 games, why would they be a problem now? Sorry but when not one time I here you say how good this game looks on the switch it makes me cringe. One thing I agree with the loading are annoying. But the rest is unnecessarily exaggerated.
Neocaron what's crazy about people act like they can't just patch it up. if it's truly in issue they'll update it soon... people wouldn't have notice if DF didn't mention it... seem to me like people have to find a reason to say switch is inferior. when in actually it's not. you're taking console like graphics on the go..smh
This game was originally designed with the Wii u in mind. Utilizing all of the features of the gamepad. That version is technically the definitive version.
With the most recent Switch update the game seems to run a lot better. Loading screens only last for less than the amount of time it takes to sprint across the screen, and I'm totally OK with that if it means having this game in portable form (and I can't afford no Vita after buying a Switch). It's a perfect pick-up-and-play platformer for a portable console.
But it can get away with having lower quality assets because it won't be blown up to a higher resolution, so it requires less compression. That's my theory anyways. The switch is running assets made for screen 4 times the resolution of vita with less than 3 times the space.
Exactly. I don't think the compression of the file size makes that much of an issue if I'm being honest. It kind of just looks like they took the Wii-U game and compressed it without making any tweaks at all which if that's the case they shouldn't have any trouble fixing it.
Ye Xiu well they might not be the wouldn't need the full resolution sprites for the Vita version as the Vita only has a 1/4 the resolution of the other consoles. It would be a waste of space, but it's just a theory
Except that's not actually true? I mean the Wii U ran it just fine and the Switch has better capabilities than the Wii U did. I mean Ubisoft got Mario and Rabbids working just fine on the Switch and that's more of a tech demanding game then Rayman Legends. It's just lazy porting. Hardware only means so much if you're not going to optimise a game to run on it properly. It's how we get games like Assassins Creed running like crap on consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. Anyone remember Unity? Or Watchdogs? Ubisofts not exactly known for their great jobs on optimising...
I literally just got home with the game and then watched this. It makes me a bit frustrated. Seems like a cash-grab job from Ubisoft (surprise, surprise). Hopefully a patch will fix these issues.
Aw, bless you man. Fixing the issue's shoudn't be too hard man but that said I hope you do like the game man. It may not have a whole lot more but at least the core is still a great game.
Thanks man I've never played it before so I'm still having fun with it. Also I got it for $25 bucks thanks to some GameStop points I had so I can't complain too much :)
$25 That's a really decent price dude. I know it's not good when a game like this sells for $40 after being sold so many times but I can at least say Legends certainly doesn't lack in content. So if you like something meaty, you're in for a treat.
David Artrip me too, although actually playing the game I feel like I have nothing to complain about. It looks incredible and had the best time playing co-op with a friend. I also have the Wii U version, but wanted this so i can play on the go and finally 100% it. I'll do my own comparison vs the wii u version someday, but i can't notice any difference, looks just as good to me. And the loading times really aren't that bad, besides when you die you come back instantly and that's the more important thing anyway. I just played a ton on the go as well and it brought a big smile on my face, i didn't realize how much I missed this game. It's a masterpiece and so addictive. I couldn't care less about these very minor issues. But maybe there will be some patches as well to iron those out. Visually it looks just as stunning as i remember it and plays just as well, and having it on the go feels like a luxury for me personally :). Having said that, of course it's a cash-grab for Ubisoft, that's what they do. Still an awesome game though
RobinHoodFox74 Really getting into it tonight I don’t want to put it down to go to bed. It truly is a masterful platformer and I’m very happy to finally get to play it. And you’re right, these issues haven’t hindered my fun with it at all. The point you made about no loading after death is dead on.
And they have the nerve to sell this for $40 lol. This game is basically worth nothing nowadays, you can get it for less than $10 in bargain bins for any other console.
srx1 yeah it’s a slap in the face for sure. I want the game so bad for my switch, would love to play through it again, but I just can’t justify the price tag. Nintendo seems to be doing okay with eshop sales, so hopefully it’ll drop to $20-$30 sometime.
This review is not really fair. The retail version of the game on cartridge has load times of max. 5 seconds. On a Nintendo handheld kind of the way of playing the game...!
Jungko Midori I know :( I recently bought a used Vita 1000 but if I had an option here in Finland, I would have bought a slim with some whacky color. I love those Vita slim colors.
Bless you Vaibhav I'm with you there buddy. The Vita is absolutely worth it's price and honestly I love the black one but a whacky blue or silver one woould be amazing.
While I love Digital foundary channel , and never miss any review , the information provided isn’t accurate unless a patch was added later on . Loading times are almost absent . Also no frame drops at all . Please advise given it’s been 2 years on the review . Thanks
Considering they literally provide footage of the loading times and frame drops; I don't know how you could say those weren't problems when the game came out. Obviously, a review of the original, 1.0 release isn't going to take patches into account because the patch didn't exist back then.
So basically the only switch games I'll be getting will be exclusives, don't want to sacrifice performance or resolution or even both at times, great console but I simply don't care about the 3rd party games or portability since I already spend a lot of time playing on home consoles so playing on the go would be just me asking to have a seizure.
Not to be a dick... buuuuuuuut what are you supposed to do with 16 sec to spare? I can't even scratch my ass that fast or go and take a piss. 16 sec is nothing. And as many have stated, the game runs smooth now. no hiccups and framerate drops. I bought my copy on the Eshop, and the loading screen is fine. I'd say around 9 sec ish
Just to clarify to the video narrator, which frankly is something he should know considering his job, the Vita is a console as well. You can't call the PS3 a console and not the PSP. They are both video game consoles. One is a home console, the other is a handheld console.
Yes, it's called U-Play. But also the game has a shit load of touch screen features, how well do they play on PC like genuinely I've never played this on PC.
The game is tied to uPlay. Yes, it's like Origin but both of those actually improved (still not as good as steam). The PC version is pretty identical to the XboxOne/PS4 version in terms of content except that it doesn't have an exclusive costume. The touch thing works pretty well. I never played the Wii U version but just pressing one button seems a bit less complicated than having to draw on your screen while playing the game.
Python :) Oh that's awesome. I'm glad to see the Touch Screen stuff wasn't swept under or forgotten about. Fair play if you can get that with all those and love Rayman... then it sounds like an awesome buy. Question though I assume Origins has a PC port too, I take it that one is awesome too.
By far the most fun I had playing Legends was multiplayer with my nephews, taking turns in being Murfy. My WiiU is still hooked up so I have zero reason to get it on Switch, with one of its best features disabled.
Wii U version is superior to all other versions. Not that any version, this one included, is a disappointment. Any version will provide you with a lot of fun. Wii U version has the most options and provides just a little bit more fun though.
Okay, that's nice & all, but the thing I've seen with the framerate dips, is that its about 7 frames & 5 frames respectively, & it fixes itself, you even state the problem isn't there if you die (after the section), load times are 16 seconds? That's not that bad for me (Considering other games have more frequent & worse load times, you say an average of 2 seconds, but the footage shows a difference of milliseconds), & the worst part, not once did you say how long those load times are off of the cart, & 2.9 GB's? That is a tightly compressed version. Touchscreen multiplayer missing? Considering that Murphy's Touch is its own section, I don't blame them. & most importantly, I never owned the game myself for any platform, & I will consider it the Definitive Edition, thank you.
Exactly, on a side note I liked Origins much more tbh, you could tell the sequel was made for the ill fated WiiU's controller. Controlling that little green guy with a button press was awful, they badly needed to remove him from the game entirely, or better still, let a fifth player control him with the mouse, but I suppose that would've required some actual work. Also (and I'm digressing even more here), as much as I like the new Sonic Mania, I'd rather it used this games engine or one like it. I want Sonic's old gameplay and art style, not the crappy pixels that went a long with it. I'd also like a lot more depth in the next Sonic game, as I got bored with Mania in a few hours, it just doesn't hold up as well as I'd hoped. Edit: I also notice a lot of fps drops when your software was showing 60fps andnot for the first time, my eyes don't lie, something's up there.
If Richard were around he'd be proud of you guys. He has said the reason he loves console gaming is that you don't need to dedicate hard drive space, you just pop it in and play.
My xbox 360 didnt have storage, and I just need a USB-32gb to play all DVD game. GTA 5 just take me 7gb on my USB and i played this game without any problem, Rise of the Tomb Raider on DVD too.
Yeah but I mean that lower storage space wouldn't matter in regards to the Switchs cartridges. Even if it was 9.8GB, Switch doesn't install mandatory on carts. So unless you're buying digital, it wouldn't impact as much.
Honestly, I would have preferred the immediate loading and larger file size. +10sec loading is a big difference between versions that should really be nearly identical.
Matthew Schantz, the argument that someone is mad because they don't have one one of weak as hell. Why would they bash and harm the system they could end up having in the future. If the system doesn't appeal to that person, than fine. It appeals to you and millions of other people out there, so don't act like a kid, whether you are one or not.
Switch is smaller though, makes it better for a handheld than carrying around a laptop with you to game. You're more likely to pull something out to quickly play with the size of a Switch rather than a laptop. Laptop also means PC games as well and if you want to be playing alot of the good ones, you're going to need some better hardware if you wanna play them at better resolutions. You'd also probably want a gamepad. KB+M can only take you so far. It's just a portable you can play some console games on. I think that has its own merit and warrant. But I mean if you were buying one anyway, you're buying it for the Nintendo games anyway. So saying it has no worth is kinda silly to me. It has no worth to you if you're not into what it has for sure and that's fine. But no worth at all? C'mon man.
Hats off to DigitalFoundry for its detailed analysis. But the game plays just great. It seems that the loading times have been taken care off, I encounterd the 16 sec nowhere. For me, switch is the ideal console for this great game.
The amount of internal memory is really what killed the Switch for me. 32GB's is just stupid. That was a (bad) business decision just to sell SD cards? Nintendo really couldn't afford to build it with (at least) 120GB's of memory and release it at the same price? That's just plain greed if you're milking your fan base like that. If it had more internal memory, you could install the entire 9GB game and forget about 16 second load screens. This kind of issue is a direct result of Nintendo building a system with 32GB's of internal storage! This thing should have been boycotted just for that alone.
I don't think Nintendo are pushing SD cards, after all they don't have their own proprietary memory format like the PS Vita did. Flash memory is expensive, 120GB storage definitely would have boosted the price. Plus Nintendo isn't forcing you to go digital, they sell physical copies.
Jack Sparham They didn't even need flash storage though. All the games run fine with MicroSD cards. You can get a maximum speed 128gb micro sd card for 40 bucks (so I imagine around 20 dollars to produce?). Going with slower storage would've actually decreased loading times in this case lol. Regardless of how you slice it 32gb is nowhere near enough for a "home" console.
To be fair they could always just make a new model with more internal storage but being real this is Nintendo, they've never really been known for splashing the cash on hardware upgrades.
Well, honestly, big loading times ARE a dealbreaker if it's a portable gaming system. Anyway, very good analysis, I don't really understand why some games are just that badly optimized for this platform.
Definitive Edition is just a marketing label for this game as usual, back in the day when a game was ported to a newer system is wasn't called definitive edition or hd edition it was just called its normal name like soul reaver on dreamcast vs soul reaver on ps1, or rayman 2 on 64 and rayman 2 on dreamcast or ps1
There's recently been a patch to Rayman Legends that reduces load times and improves the frame rate any chance you could take a look at it?

Walther Penne You can't actually use the touch screen in docked mode anyway. In this instance you'd need to connect two Switches, which is fine as Vita achieved it like this and Namco Museum does this on the Switch. You can connect two Switch systems and one person is Pac Man on the handheld and 3 people are the ghosts on the TV on the docked Switch
RIght; similarly to Pac-Man Vs, they should allow 4 players to play in docked mode while the fith player uses Murphy on a connected second Switch in handheld mode. I would buy this if they did this.
Hyawatta exactly :)
i have a gaming pc and if i dont have to log into fucking uplay on the switch, it easily beats the PC version.
Yeah, uplay can go to hell.
fucking pirate a copy you own it so who cares i do ot with all ubi games for a reason
I have a soft spot for loading screens, especially in this game because they give you hearts some times
Still love my vita
Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo
Very underrated system.
Using OLED quality to bring the best out of games before 4K TV screens ever dreamed of the idea. Although I use the slim.
My screen still flawless
So due to the game being highly compressed its causing longer loading times I understand with the limited space the Switch has them doing this but it would be nice to have an option to offload the assets onto the SDCard then to remove or reduce the need to decompress the assets most Sony PSP games had this option...
Performance and IQ are fine, pricing is not, 40€ for something that is regularly on sale for less than 10€ it's not ok, should be 25€ max.
Spyro 2 sound effect in the last 2 seconds.
It wasn't 1080p on the PS Vita
But it was AMOLED 😎😎😎
I'll take AMOLED over LCD any day. Next Switch model needs a OLED display.
DT B true AMOLED is way better than that cheap Switch display.
Jehart Bonilla he's talking about the handheld screen display, AMOLED display is way better than that cheap IPS display on the Switch.
Vita isn't even HD, so I'd take the Switch any day.
Only the first Vita iteration, the newer vita models uses LCD
Finally a game reviewer who dont suck at playing video games.. YAY its amazing, they really exists.
AdaaDK but he isn't a game reviewer
If he was reviewing than the video was not an analysis video rather it was a review
AdaaDK but he isn't a game reviewer
If he was reviewing than the video was not an analysis video
He reviews the technical aspects of the game. So he is a game reviewer.
He reviews your mom. How is he not a reviewer?
+SotNist Cool stuff, no one cares what you think with the stupid "your mom" jokes that died out at least 10 years ago.
Wow, 16 second load times, God forbid. Someone's too young to remember the good ol' PSP two minute load times
Or perhaps just realises that they are unacceptable on 2017 hardware.
He and I have different opinions about what is "unacceptable." Different hardware has different standards, regardless of the year in which it's released. Expecting the Switch to perform as well as a PC running games off a high performance SSD with the latest i7 is illogical.
There is literally no reason the switch should have worse load times then the fucking ps vita
My mistake sir. I didn't realize you were an expert on the subject! It's obvious to me now, given your eloquent and carefully considered way of speaking. Of course you would know these two systems better than the developers who have designed games for both.
xD Sure thing buddy. By the way, your preposition's dangling.
The game apparently just received a patch from Ubi, to fix the framerate issues and make the loadings shorter, will we have a quick update from Digital Foundry on the topic ? 🙂
iYohm thanks! So should i download it from eshop or buy the cartridge version?
Whoever you are, don't go into these comments, you'll only come out annoyed and disappointed with yourself and others
Maximumsquige lol
Walther Penne don't worry. I agree to disagree. ;)
How can it be the best version when other versions don't have any of those problems?
I agree
Neocaron what's crazy about people act like they can't just patch it up. if it's truly in issue they'll update it soon... people wouldn't have notice if DF didn't mention it... seem to me like people have to find a reason to say switch is inferior. when in actually it's not. you're taking console like graphics on the go..smh
Neocaron that dosen't change what he said and it dosen't matter what version you pick they will all run at 60 fps
This game was originally designed with the Wii u in mind. Utilizing all of the features of the gamepad. That version is technically the definitive version.
Facts
*Ubisoft treats their devs like crap*
And of course there are *still* ignorant PC and console gamers in the comment section
Really, they do?
Ubi has taken more steps than oher companies to improve dev health
With the most recent Switch update the game seems to run a lot better. Loading screens only last for less than the amount of time it takes to sprint across the screen, and I'm totally OK with that if it means having this game in portable form (and I can't afford no Vita after buying a Switch). It's a perfect pick-up-and-play platformer for a portable console.
The definitive edition is the Wii U one.
Loved how you used Rayman 2 music in this video.
That game had an amazing soundtrack.
But heads used compression made loading times horrible. Should have just kept the game 9 gb.
Vita game size is 1.2gb, but it still loads faster.
And you can get Origins 911mb on the same cart and still have those same load times. Though to be fair 960x544 is not 1270x720 resolution.
It kind of just looks like they took the Wii-U game and compressed it without making any tweaks at all which if that's the case they shouldn't have any trouble fixing it.
yodagamer1 asset is same lol just resolution down on ps vita versions
Ye Xiu well they might not be the wouldn't need the full resolution sprites for the Vita version as the Vita only has a 1/4 the resolution of the other consoles. It would be a waste of space, but it's just a theory
17seconds loading screen on an 2013 game LMAO.
Complain to Nintendo for having garbage hardware that can't run old ass games properly.
Probably should look into the new update that reduces the loading time. Tss.
Gotta love the OG Rayman music in the background :)
And they have the nerve to sell this for $40 lol. This game is basically worth nothing nowadays, you can get it for less than $10 in bargain bins for any other console.
Got it for 12 dollars on xbox one recently.
srx1 yeah it’s a slap in the face for sure. I want the game so bad for my switch, would love to play through it again, but I just can’t justify the price tag. Nintendo seems to be doing okay with eshop sales, so hopefully it’ll drop to $20-$30 sometime.
srx1 i bought it on a steam sale for less than 8, so yea
I would love to see another 3D Rayman game like the 3rd, that was my childhood right there
This review is not really fair. The retail version of the game on cartridge has load times of max. 5 seconds. On a Nintendo handheld kind of the way of playing the game...!
This review was also made around the time the game came out, by now the patch has reduced the loading times a fair bit.
I love that you used this music for the video. Not that the Legends and Origin soundtrack is not great as well, but its very nostalgic to hear.
That PS Vita is gorgeous!
Vaibhav Shah Too bad, this one is only available in Japan.
Jungko Midori I know :(
I recently bought a used Vita 1000 but if I had an option here in Finland, I would have bought a slim with some whacky color. I love those Vita slim colors.
Vaibhav Shah yes it is, the ps vita design is gorgeous
Bless you Vaibhav I'm with you there buddy. The Vita is absolutely worth it's price and honestly I love the black one but a whacky blue or silver one woould be amazing.
Vaibhav Shah
The 1000 version is better than the slim version though.
I honestly missed the loading screen on the ps4 version it’s nice seeing it again
I love that you used music from Rayman 2 The Great Escape in this video :)
On my switch the loading screens are 6 seconds at max, and the game is installed on my sd card... Did they release a patch?
Just picked it up on sale it’s so fast now
I want to know, was there a patch? If there was, i might buy the game.
noobmaster69 ! They have its fast man no slowdown and load times are insanely quick
@Tea spill well i bough it for 9 euros this summer, when it was on sale.
Just purchased for my Son, he loves it. it's on Summer sale in UK for 5.99pounds that's got to be a steal of a deal. Offer ends on 25th June 2023.
None of these are serious issues or problems. The way the guy started the video made it seemed like the game was broken or something :l
I agree, these feel more like nitpicks then true game breaking problems. I'm gonna get this game for my Switch, & enjoy it.
8azaz22 same hehe
What else do you expect from Digital Fraudry and their fanbase.
Did you guys also try the physical version of the game? I wonder if the file size and compressed assets might be different...
I remember when the Wii U was the “Definative edition" and an exclusive until Ubisoft pulled it. Wish I still had my Wii U
So basically the only switch games I'll be getting will be exclusives, don't want to sacrifice performance or resolution or even both at times, great console but I simply don't care about the 3rd party games or portability since I already spend a lot of time playing on home consoles so playing on the go would be just me asking to have a seizure.
A patch already fixed the problems that this video pointed out.
I'm playing the Switch version at the DMV, this is the Definative Edition.
back then before the patch it wasn't definitive
This game is fantastic it's so fun with great music it's currently only $12 on Nintendo store I highly recommend getting.
Still runs better than most games on the Xbox one.
The Bad Hombre nope
Dimitrelos300 truth hurts.
The Bad Hombre nope, not truth, no hurt. Cry more fangirl
This game is already on Xbox One, so what's your point?
Dude.... The vita runs this game on 60 fps.
Basically they shouldn't have called it definitive edition. But it's good they brought it to switch.
Rayman 4 pls
I Love Rayman Legends
Zoey
Rayman Legends had "lukewarm sales at best". That's not usually enough to justify a sequel
The loading times are fixed.
The WiiU version is the "definitive edition" because its the only version of the game in which using Murphy is really great and fun.
The Vita version has seven exclusive levels, so it's kind of a toss-up
This game was 1080p on PS3,X360. 1080per on Wii-U PS4 and Xbox One.
Thanks for making such meticulous content DF. I was gonna buy this game, but now I'll wait for a patch.
Really enjoying the Switch focused content DF keep it up!
I'd say around 9 sec ish
yep the game got patch now
Hopefully a patch can sort out the framerate drops and loading times
Wii U Definitive
Just to clarify to the video narrator, which frankly is something he should know considering his job, the Vita is a console as well. You can't call the PS3 a console and not the PSP. They are both video game consoles. One is a home console, the other is a handheld console.
Why no mention of the PC version -- something wrong with it?
Yes, it's called U-Play. But also the game has a shit load of touch screen features, how well do they play on PC like genuinely I've never played this on PC.
Rayman Legends is not tied to Uplay
Oh it's not? In that case I apologise. I thought U-Play was like EA's god awful Origin system.
They might release a patch to fix loading times and frame drops. If nothing is out in a month, its been written off and just enjoy it.
So the Vita's version is still the best portable option.
Panda Xkills switch has a larger screen and u can dock it on tv and continue where u left off :)
the best portable option is on the GPD Win, 720p/60 fps
Not anymore now Rayman legends switch got a patch that reduce the loading time and the framerate are smoother
Pc version IS the Definitive edition, as usual.
But the switch version has the same experience and it's portable.
I'd rather play it with trophies or on the go.
Green Mario
Like the Vita?
+Actis What will you do with those digital trophies.
With no loading times in the game would make it harder since you wouldn’t get a heart
What the hell Ubisoft
I would go ps4, but, portability baby. Awesome video, well done!
How is the Vita version not the def handheld edition?
Because it's not lol
kabr0ne
It's definitely a great version of the game!
It is, and it came with Origins on the same Cartridge... unless you're American but who cares about those guys really?
Actor Adam Anouer Yeah, Americans are fat
kabr0ne What's a Vita?
Is all that music from this game or Rayman Revolution? The music makes me so nostalgic
I'd take a 2.4GB game with loading screens over 9,7GB without loadingscreens any day
I so agree to that, I rather have a version with load times, over a version with a mandatory install anyday.
If Richard were around he'd be proud of you guys. He has said the reason he loves console gaming is that you don't need to dedicate hard drive space, you just pop it in and play.
Riiiiight, because storage space is so expensive. Stop living in 2003.
Ubusoft is the master of fucking up... they even fucked up trying to make a Tetris game!
so of course they fuck this up too, it's tradition!
PSVITA version is better xD
Honestly, I would have preferred the immediate loading and larger file size. +10sec loading is a big difference between versions that should really be nearly identical.
Another example showing Switch is overrated for what it gives which is nothing.
You just mad because you don't have one. This video isn't faulting the Switch for performance, it is faulting the compressed game files.
Nah it's too expensive for what it provides. I'll stick with my PC.
A laptop for sure. Hell even some chinese/korean smartphones at this point.
JackWolf To be fair, you kind of have to buy a microSD card if you want to play some games in full like NBA 2K18 (even if you have a physical copy).
Nintendo doesn't make SD cards. I think you are mixing it up with the Vita. SD cards are cheap so who cares anyways?
Jack Sparham They didn't even need flash storage though. All the games run fine with MicroSD cards. You can get a maximum speed 128gb micro sd card for 40 bucks (so I imagine around 20 dollars to produce?). Going with slower storage would've actually decreased loading times in this case lol. Regardless of how you slice it 32gb is nowhere near enough for a "home" console.
To be fair they could always just make a new model with more internal storage but being real this is Nintendo, they've never really been known for splashing the cash on hardware upgrades.
DF Retro on all the Rayman 2 ports!
Man, the DS version would get murdered
Zeemanhuismerk
It isn't that bad at al thougj
I mean, it's the best portable version of the game.
No it isn't. The Vita version not only loads faster but comes with Origins bundled on the same damn cartridge.
Actor Adam Anouer damn son, you just destroyed his comment xd
Actor Adam Anouer every version of Legends has most of the Origins levels as unlocks. check your facts, thx
Kevboard Arts One thing are the levels on legends and the other is origins itself as a separate game but included in the pack, smh.
+Depsy Why thank you ^_^ It's nice to be appreciated.
Well, honestly, big loading times ARE a dealbreaker if it's a portable gaming system.
Anyway, very good analysis, I don't really understand why some games are just that badly optimized for this platform.
LOL
Definitive Edition is just a marketing label for this game as usual, back in the day when a game was ported to a newer system is wasn't called definitive edition or hd edition it was just called its normal name like soul reaver on dreamcast vs soul reaver on ps1, or rayman 2 on 64 and rayman 2 on dreamcast or ps1
