I got my xxx this past week and this issue started happening to me today literally rode a minute down the street from my house and power shut off turned on and off like 5 times waited about 8 minutes then it would work.Went home waited a couple hours same thing kept happening on that last one I popped a wheelie. Just emailed Luna also. I disconnected the green and red cable connected put the bike to fully charge and I will try again Friday. I love the bike I hope that it will work 🤞🏽. Thanks for the video 🤙🏽
Good video dude I had the same issue *WAIT* so you unplug the both brake sensors? I love this bike it's a ripper for sure awesome build quality I can't wait to ride again.
Yea just take the two brake sensor lines apart. Don't take anything that needs to unscrew apart as those are your actual brake lines. Just unplug the two easy plugs.
Same here! Was about to post on Reddit. This isn’t normal. I’d like the break sensors to work for safety purposes. I’ve accidentally throttled it because I thought bike was off. Lol I’m laughing now but damn this thing is quick 😂
Yea I do understand that totally. That's why if I had to talk the kickstand sensor off I would be throwing a fit. We need some type of way for it to still be on but not able to go right into a car when parked.
Support said they would send me replacements. Hoping they fix the issue but to be honest I’m not going to hold my breath. Will let you know how it turns out
I have a surron 2020 had to.learn about it all I'm glad I did but yeah I really wanted the back like sensor to work especially seeing the like get bright when ur braking helps. But I had the same issue as u.
What I do is I leave my front brake sensor on, and my rear disconnected for wheelies. The sensors can work well, when plugged in absolutly perfectly. If your brake sensor isn’t plugged in perfectly, it’s going to cause issues
@TheElectricWoodworker Absolutely man ibwas devastated. It happened after the 1st MILE and only riding it for 5 minutes. The bike also arrived banged up from good Ole FedEx freight. What do those wires do anyway?
@CampbellSuperKids those two wires are responsible for your brake light activation and when you press the brake at all they kill motor power for a minimum amount of time. The cutting power part is the dumb part.
Are you aware the brake cut-offs are adjustable? I have the XXX and if I'm on throttle and pull brake, it cuts off immediately. As soon as I release, it kicks like a mule back in, no delay. However, I could understand that if the brake sensor is poorly adjusted (from the factory, not throwing shade) it could lead to weird behaviors like this. On the lever where the cutoff wire leads in there is a small nut -- you can use a 7 or 8mm wrench to move it in/out to adjust where the reed sensor is to affect the cut-off point. I've also had cut-off wires "release" from the adjustment mechanism. As in, the barrel would be locked in place, but the wire could slide in and out, causing mid-ride brake cut offs as the wire snuck it's way closer to the magnet and closed.
That's great to know. I had no idea. Maybe someone can mess with this to confirm. My bike has been perfect since this so I haven't changed anything after unplugging both sensors
Just got mine this week, having the same issue. I disconnected the tilt & kick stand sensors. The arrows on the easy connectors are lined up but still goes in wait mode. Going to try this method, thanks
I want to disconnect the tilt & kickstand sensors as well. Becuase they sucked on the Sur Ron, when you ride offroad. Where are the plugs for kickstand and for the tiltsensors on the XXX ? Are they accessible after removing the sidecover ? Thank you I've removed them on my 72v Sur Ron as well and I'm used to ride it without these sensors.
I have only seen the plugs by the start button under the cover. It has like 5 connection points for different wires. I had to install a new tail light. I'd imagine that sensor you need is by the motor cover box thing.
just bout mine from Luna Cycle, very excited!. I'm going to preemptively undo the wires. Is it just the 2 brake sensors that will do it or is there another too? your videos are great Josh!
I had the same issue with my X. Luna also said just disconnect the wire. I don’t want to do that cause now I have no brake light. Not happy with the response. If it’s there from factory it should work properly🤷🏻♂️ I will definitely try that fix though. Thank you. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I agree. It should work and it does suck we don't have a brake light now. Didn't think much of it until the other night I was out in the dark and noticed my light was so dim
Yea I do miss it and if I ride at night I keep 1 brake sensor plugged in for the light to work right. But in the daytime I'm usually alone and don't ride with cars around me at all
Does this bike fit through a regular house doorway with the stock handlebars ? I’m about to get one and I’ll be storing it indoors . Got a few doorways to go through .
I stopped to look in an art gallery window, touched the throttle and shot bike to the side spinning out a giant flower pot, smashed my display. Then bike working fine few days and just stopped. Start with new display?
@@JoshTheElectric Yes. No error messages. Bike locks up when throttle is engaged. If I keep pushing it I’ll get an error 48 which is back wheel locked up or whatever. I’ve unplugged both break sensors, as well as the kickstand sensor just to be safe. It’s been 48 hours and no response from Luna cycle. Worst Customer service.
I would try to unplug both brake sensors up front first. Can't imagine it's your kickstand sensor but that would be after of your brakes sensors don't fix it. My bike has been perfect since undoing all 3. To be clear I'm talking about the brake sensors not the brake lines with fluid

If you know how to do that pls tell me

I got mine the first day. So far haven't had a single mechanical issue at all. From what I've learned is most companies have this feature if you will and pretty much all riders disable this feature by disconnecting the brakes. Since gas dirtbikes don't do this I believe most riders like it this way for wheelie purposes and off road riding. Any issues I haven't been aware of?
If it is some limp mode setting bc of hittig both at same time, anyone know exact time till restart asuming you dont disconnect any wires and re plugging trying to fgigure out cause of stall? Sorry if I don't get this all I'm on the cell. But I didn't want to do this. Luna Cycles told me this was the only fix. Until now I see they have a video out showing how to adjust the brakes sensor to keep them working properly. They said it must be to sensitive from the factory and making the bike shut down in the video. Also my kickstand sensor ended up breaking anyways before I had the option of disconnecting it.
