I was considering the dirt kit from Luna, but this seems doable... I was surprised that the super motos worked at all on dirt and grass ( just barely - and I did my first wipe out on grass). But this looks like my next tire change 😁. I ride mostly street but it would be nice to know I could go almost anywhere with these.
I don't even have a bike yet, but I'm saving this video because I already know as a general DIY type dude, i'm gonna wanna do as much work on my bike as possible. Changing a tire seems like a right of passage. Challenge accepted.
Aloha Mike. Any updates on the Kenda's and Shinko's? I'm on the fence between the two, as well as the Kenda K270. Great content. Keep up the good work.
Please do the rear suspension spring mod and please link which one fits. I’m a bigger rider over 220lbs and I use up most of my suspension travel just sitting on the bike 😂 thanks 👍🏽
I don't think any tire change can be as bad as street tires on a Razor MX650 rim.... It broke 2 of my metal BMX tire levers and I had to wait a week for real FMX tire spoons to come in. The front wasn't that bad but the 10" rear rim was a nightmare.... This looked like it was almost enjoyable compared to my experience. 😩😁😂
Good video. Nice angles and good instructions. I appreciate this video. I was thinking about do a wrap as well. I kind of want to either do army green or cement grey. Looking forward to yours once it’s wrapped. Since the tires look taller, did it increase the overall height of the seat height?
So wait, I seen a similar comment where someone asked this, but I’m confused. On the website for the xxx, the front wheels rim is 1.6 wide, and the back is 2.15 wide. Is the 2.75 wide tire going to fit the 1.6 wide rim alright? I cant tell through the video if your bikes front rim is 1.6. Please let me know! I just got one of these bikes and am worried about changing the tires myself!
Does the 2.75 inch wide tire fit the wider back rim the same as the front? Apologies if a dumb question- I just ordered two Shinko 241’s and just noticed the back rim is wider than the front.
No worries, that’s not a dumb question. The fitment was perfect and I personally think I could’ve gone 3.0 front and rear. When these wear down, I’ll probably do that. I do have a set of shinko that I’m gonna be doing a comparison video on them versus these pretty soon.
@@MikeFede another newbie question - what would the difference of a 3 inch wide tire be compared to 2.75? …. Would it be better in sand with the wider tire? …. I got the Shinkos for primarily sand and beach riding here in north FL…… Not sure if I missed it in one of your videos - but - do you have a helmet your recommend? .. I got a Giro mtb helmet that a few friends have told me to get a real helmet and now I’m paranoid…. They didn’t have suggestions though.
Bought the Kenda. Used lube and powder and minimal force with proper tools and the bead broke. Must have been a defective unit because I’ve never had that happen on a tire before so be careful.
This correct? Back tubeless?? My bike gets delivered in 3 days. Mike love the videos.. helped me decide to get the xxx. You should setup comm with luna. 👊
@@johnm6589 I ended up taking it to a shop to get the rear tire swapped because I couldn't get it off with my tools. Although the tire says tubeless, I was told there was a tube in there so it's all good.
I got the cst offroad tires lunacycle offered. I feel like any thing above 15-20 mph the rear tire wobbles like it's gonna swing out on you Have you experienced anything like this
I have the euro version so max 5200w peak and running off road knobby tires. The speedo read out shows 52.7 mph when running on road - getting 48mph on 8inch tall thick grass.

@mikefede this tutorial to change a tire was fantastic. So good it should have been its own video with a title to find again :)
thanks for making.

Can I use the same tube that comes with the bike on a 17 3.00 tire for the rear?
I’m doing this exact setup on my X3! Can’t wait for my talaria x3 to come in from Luna
Got mine from Luna identical to this and I absolutely love it

Since the tires look taller, did it increase the overall height of the seat height?
Thanks for the support🙏🏾🙏🏾. Yea it feels a bit taller than originally. I’ll have a stock xxx to do the measurements on soon and I’ll post that up👍🏾
@@MikeFede does the tires come in a set or how do u get them
If or whenever you replace the belt that would be cool to see .

Did you ever figure this out? I'm looking to order within this weekend.
How hard is it to getting the wheel back lined up? Will it just be right once tightened up?
For some reason the back tire is considerably harder to get on than the front. Is it the same size as the front tire 17 inch Kendra?
Anybody know how these compare to the Shinko 241s?

Great vid. Do you have to change the chain length or anything? Or is it all set to go, once the tires are on
@@breannacarter1435 much appreciated! Nope! When changing out the sprocket, you would have to change the length of the chain. 🫡
@@MikeFede Thanks for the info!
What’s your reason why you picked Kenda over Shinkos?
The compound of the rubber and that kenda has been around a long time and is a trusted brand. I got the shinkos coming to do a comparison too.
@@MikeFedeSubbed! Can’t wait for that review!
Are you running the kenda 2.75-17 on front and back?
Yup! They fit perfectly with no rubbing issues at all. 3.0 would fit good too.
@@MikeFedehow did you fit a 17inch front tire on the 19 inch front rim?
Would love to see you do the rear tire since its so different. The rear is tubeless, did you add a tube wuen replacing it?

Uhhhg! You prob have yours already, I just ordered today 10/24 and am binge watching all these videos! Let us know how you like it so far@@johnm6589
What’d you change your settings to with the bigger tires?
I never changed anything. The bike rides solid and I would say better than before.
What tires did you do for the front and what tire for back
Not sure how you missed it. It’s at the start of the video and it’s linked below the video.
I’m confused did you use the shinko tires or you bought 2 kenda tires?
I installed the kenda K262 tires since I liked the compound better for riding. I recently ordered the shinko for a comparison.
I got the cst offroad tires lunacycle offered. I feel like any thing above 15-20 mph the rear tire wobbles like it's gonna swing out on you
Have you experienced anything like this
Whoa! Nah, I haven’t ridden the off-road ones yet. These I’ve changed to are solid at 50+ mph
@MikeFede on the road they are fine. Only offroad do they feel wobbly in the rear. On road any speed is fine.
More nimble and a dream.
Are both wheels the same size
Yup! 🤘🏾
I wonder by how much this would decrease the range
Also now what’s your top speed?
I have the euro version so max 5200w peak and running off road knobby tires. The speedo read out shows 52.7 mph when running on road - getting 48mph on 8inch tall thick grass.
Why? Is your back tire on your dogs head
Lol must be the camera angle. The back wheel is elevated and she was sleeping behind the bike and it just looked like she was under it. Lol.
Can people stop saying "with that being said"
It's so annoying. I can't be the only one
Did you gain top end speed since the tires are slightly taller?
