- With Tate Reed on a big bike full-time now, we had the help of @MountainMotorsport and put multiple bike brands to the TEST! Chad Reed rode and gave his insight on each 250f, followed by Tate testing them all out for himself! At the end of the day, it was the ultimate way to narrow down the decision of what bike to start the 2025 season off with... so stay tuned for more!!

This was a treat. I’m in my early 60’s but I can still remember that awesome feeling of when you transfer up to a bigger bike, I think anyone who has experienced that and just watched Kia and Tate we’re right there with them. May you receive the wisdom you need to make this choice of brand that lies before you. Keep safe, go hard!!!

I can't believe how much Tate has improved he flat out rips and starting to look like a professional , and Kira is riding really well too awesome job with your kids Mr. & Ms. Reed you guys rock !
All I can say is it's been enjoyable watching your kids grow up and evolve into real racers. They look great. In my opinion, and although all I could see were the short clips, Tate looked really good on the Yamaha! And Kia looks like a natural on the 250F. Actually she looks better on the 250 than on the small bike!
Congratulations, you just might have the first brother and sister champions in motocross. Thank you for sharing these moments with us.

Don't get wrong, I LOVE seeing the kids ride but I can watch Chad ride for hours. It was great seeing him ride and going thru the paces.

The kids have come a long way. They look great!
Obviously just stock bikes with no suspension adjust whatsoever but man that YZ was so much more settled and stable for everyone in that sand! You could instantly see the confidence levels go up when everyone was on blue.
Love seeing kiah grow up aswell gettin on the big bike! I can honestly see her beating most dudes eventually in motocross be amazing to see!

The YZ is a hard 250 to beat. Tate looked pretty comfy on it! Was making that engine bark pretty good!
Tate is absolutely FLYING on the 250F (u could see Dad had to push hard to try catch him 😜, which would be a major "proud dad" moment for Chad but also a lil hard on the "racer ego" also BUT i think proud dad would stick more 🤘🏻💪🏻)
And what can i say about Siss??? She hauls aswell ✊🏻 cant wait to keep on following their riding/racing lifes, just awesome to watch guys!!!
I feel that the days of Dad being able to close up on Tate, when on equal equipment, will be ending real soon. That kid is really something on a bike, especially the blue one.

I died inside a bit when Chad didn’t like the Honda. Curious to see the family take on a new brand.
Still liked certain parts of the Honda- right off the showroom floor test was pretty cool to see for all the bikes. I’ve been at ALOT of factory tests . Never really been to the stock test days 😊

Plus Chad would be onto it like Brian D was ,those ktmgroup bikes dont cut the mustard at the pro level. Kawi Honda and Yamaha are the most competitive with only recently Honda and Kawi getting closer to Yamaha at that level in the 250s. Honda innovated there air inlet tract to get closer to the Yamaha reverse inlet trackt of air , Honda has got it going on but in the traditional engine head orientation , pretty cool so power found there now for Honda Factory level. Yamaha have had that innovation of the air inlet tract since 2014 , no media contracts like ktm had so praise for the design on a motor innovation , its sic moto machine. Kawi i have found out how they found more power but they did end of the outdoors id like to say 21 or 22. O yeah and Honda 450 has adapted that intact like the Yamaha one too, air filter seems a bit cooky but it works clearly.
@@motozz8258I’m not so sure, apart from jett, chase is clear second fastest whilst still learning the new bike. All the bikes can win at pro level. We can’t comment on pro bikes but there zero chance the Kwai and Honda is better that the ktm stock for stock

A buddy of mine has a son who was heading to the top before getting hurt bad a decade ago, son is now back riding at fast B-class pace, rode red for his whole riding career...bought a YZ 450 in 2023 and says he will never go back now.

Me as a Honda friend, I would lean towards the good old school Yamaha 💙
Definitely went Yamaha cause you can tell tate looks comfortable on the bike with how fast and smooth he was riding it.
Tate will have the chance to practice with one of the top teams and riders if he joins Star Yamaha.

Both are doing great, but still have a long ways to go!
125s will develop better skills faster if esp Tate wants to reach higher!
I'm also not sure why changing from KTM right now is a good thing if this is Because of recent media and financial issues! Personally I think this will get sorted, some bad execs made bad decisions! But the group doesn't know how to fail they also have the biggest bike range! That's important for development and so is loyalty KTM will remember who they're friends were and who stuck by them when the times comes!
So many seem very quick to put he boot in while they are down right now! But they still have some if the not the best results overall consistently! Even with the hate on recent platforms, the results dont lie! Any top 10 in any class pro or amateur has more KTM group bikes in the results than any other I have said this consistently! Even in SX they won 3 out of he 4 titles last year!
Jmo fwiw but rushing to 250s and jumping off because some are yelling iceberg Imo is not long term beneficial.

Saying that nothing is like trying out new bikes and trying something new!
But grass ain't always greener! We are heading into difficult times!
Strong foundations in all aspects gonna be needed going forward.

This was always the plan. We are aligned with a dealership that sells the top brands so we can all ride different bikes until there is an actual agreement with a team or manufacturer.
