    Love this. I shot a feature-length film on my phone during the pandemic all by myself. (LG V40) It was the first film I had ever made, and in fact I had never even owned a camera before in my life. I'm a theatre artist. It became an award-winning film. No matter what you have available to you, if you have a great story, and if you feel compelled to share it, get out there and do it. It's possible, and it's fun. I learned more over the two-and-a-half years of making that film that I learned in my entire life combined.

      So very true! The hardest part is gaining the confidence in yourself to just get up and make something, but once you get that part down, the possibilities are endless! 🤌✨

      This is awesome! I have a iPhone 12max… not sure it’s worthy to make films… were you filming through a movie maker app or just video? What did you use to edit/cut scenes?

    • @RockWILK
      @RockWILK Год назад +1

      @@rondamayburnette the phone you have is definitely worthy. I shot my entire film on an LG v40. It has all of the manual settings internal, so I didn't have to use filmic Pro or any kind of app. I edited the film in DaVinci Resolve. Here's a link if you're interested. ruclips.net/video/_C81Ky4MfFY/видео.html

    Great video. Having just shot a short with me acting with one other actor, and having had to find a camera person, then organising dates where everyone was available, I appreciate the benefits of doing things yourself. You didn't let lack of other cast or crew get in your way, love that ambition! And your cat wanted to join in, too! Every production should have a resident cat!

    Thanks so much for making and sharing this! If you do end up making a second video on how you edited the short I would LOVE to see it - especially since you used the text message effects and TV effects and had such good sound 😀

    Thank you for letting us know you were going to spoil the film so we could stop and watch first! You clearly put a lot of effort into your project. Your short film was both engaging while having that eerie, sinister feel a scary movie should have. I’m a newbie to this whole filmmaking thing, so I know how much work / time that goes into such a project. But I enjoy watching the creative thinkers bring it all together…GREAT JOB!🔥

    i must say...I feel thoroughly inspired. thank you for the tips and just having the motivation to create. I have SO many written short film ideas/stories and i literally hoard lighting equipment and cameras, but I feel so intimidated by the process because I feel like i dont have adequate editing software. recommendations for something free? I'd love to see your editing process ..never stop creating, please! lol

      Davinci Resolve. It's free, and serious editors use it. I have never used editing software before and it took me months to master. But so worth it to become independent. I used it on my short (it didn't turn out the way I wanted but happy with the editing!)
