In this video we start the #rebuild of my new to the channel #salvage MK8 #golfr by continuing to remove the damaged parts off the front end and fit a new rad pack but as usual it is never straight forward.
We did however get to fit some new parts from racing line aka @volkswagenracinguk and also a @airtecmotorsport5254 intercooler too!

i bought a golf r estate 7.5 and boy does it go that i got 3 points on my driving licence 2 weeks later lol and just received 3 more points , i have calmed right down now but it kept up with a golf r brand new lol good luck in yours .

Sweet sweet bonus with the deal with all those extras and front end sections. The repair, whilst definitely costly, isn’t massively technical with the majority being bolt off & on parts. The areas most requiring specialist skill being the paint and the door repair/paint. It will look mint when back together and the right colour.
Question is ….. how far are you gonna go with the performance of this baby? The 27.5 purchase price doesn’t seem that great with the added bits and bobs - so you could potentially invest a few notes in turning it into something a wee bit tastier than stock performance ones. Make for good content too. But yeah I think you’ve got a decent enough buy there - not bad at all.

hi chris, love the videos, looking forward to this build. just as a heads up, you might wanna upgrade your battery to an agm one, the efb batteries are notoriously known to be a bit crap. i have a new one that i got replaced under warranty if you're interested
Nice work! BTW - the ‘weird glossy grey colour’ on the underside of the bonnet is primer.
There are lots of hidden systems, features and driving modes that you will find in the info system so you can tune the car to your own taste. Plus the Adaptive Cruise Control and lane keep assist on these Golf’s are really good. You car might have park assist where it can park into a bay without you doing the steering but it was an option so you might soon find out if it was specked on your car 😊

You also need the airbag module , which must be the exact same part number as your old one
I reckon you have to get the front end complete first, then move on to the interior. And what have you done with the smashed up bumper? If you haven’t binned it already I’d be interested.

Sure you can get rid of the bonnet stay and replace it with a gas strut think it would be much better, loving this car bit of a steal coming with all the parts 😂
Racing line have supplied me a gas strut too but didnt want to put it on that bonnet 😅😂

I had the r600 on my mk7. You can still hear it. Maybe not as much as an open kit
Be careful with the r600 with the uprated intercooler, i have the ea888 gen 3 engine and the r600 rubbed on the airtec intercooler creating a hole at the bottom.
Most benefit is with the turbo elbow, tiguan battery covers fit also 😉 keep it up pal.

Comfort windows is normally called global closure and its been standard on MOST cars since the mk3 mondeo !!!!
