No way you overpaid on that Chris. It's going to turn out to be a great buy. Superb colour, Comp pack, great spec, late model, minor damage - what's not to love. Don't sweat the mileage at all - these cars run as sweet as the day they left the factory as long as they're looked after. I've owned several of these cars, the 'latest' over ten years now and I'm on over 160,000 miles, had the conrod bearings changed couple years ago at 148k miles and the actuators a year before that - one went at 138k miles so I got both refurbed by Rebuild with lifetime warranty...absolute joy to drive, I can see me never selling it, so much fun and a real event every time you fire it up. So much bang for buck on them, yes they may be lacking in the low end torque range but once you wind that glorious S65 up, nothing beats it in that price range or anywhere near. I've had a Stage 2 tune, a GTS DCT flash and an Akrapovic Evo exhaust to mine and it transformed the car completely, although you can get the similar gains from a primary cat removal 'test pipes' set up. Looking forward to you getting this up and running and hearing your thoughts. Regarding the whine, the pulleys dry easily on these cars when laid up, a quick dash of WD40 cures it I've found (do them one by one to locate the culprit and stop the whine)...also tensioner pulley is prone to a 'rattle' when flooring it. Anyway. I've rambled on enough! Such awesome cars. Loving the channel!
Fellow M3 (E93) driver here. This was all so useful to read! On 71’000 miles. Was a little worried (the common adage “100’000 = death row” comes to mind). So reassuring, because I just don’t want the fun to end!!! I get it serviced proactively (ahead of computers scheduling), use the high grade oil top ups. Would you recommend I do anything else? Thanks again
I think you might be onto something here Chris. Repairing relatable / affordable cars vs Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche could well be a gap in the market 👍
I would have used the cheapest oil available and make sure IT’s running as it should as well as getting the rod bearing’s checked / replaced and then put the better oil 🎉
I rebuilt one of these in lockdown Chris, they’re epic cars, mine was damaged on the passenger side so luckily didn’t damage any coolers, hope you get it fixed without too many issues. These cars are very temperamental if the battery voltage drops too low so if you ever have any electrical niggles bang a new battery in it
Lads those connections under the hood are to give car power so you can get the battery.. you should then always use a jump pack directly on the battery to get the best result.
When you have a crash damaged car that may have lost oil and has probably been sitting for months. It's not a great idea to try and start it straight away. Replace any damaged oil feed parts first. Then PRIME the oil circuit with the fuel pump and ignition disabled. Get the oil moving throughout the whole system, camshafts, bearings etc. THEN start the engine.
My dads got an E92 M3 and it’s a manual coupe they sound stunning he’s got a 2 pipe mod and when it redlines at 8500 rpm my word 😩 Edit: Rather then pressing the sport button when she’s running and driving fine press the m button on the steering wheel it makes the car behave completely different like it’s just had 7 lines of coke 😂 but you can change the m settings in the i drive
M539 Restaurations has overhauled the engine on one of these in case you need tips. This will be an amazing built when it’s done. Best of luck Chris!🎉👌🙏
You can’t beat an M3, the E92 is such a good model with its V8 engine and its playful rear end, I completely get why you went for it Chris. It will be good to see this finished and back on the road for some spirited drives 👍🇬🇧
My mum has the e93 335i in with the individual paint choice too. Hers is black but with a blue sparkle but when you clean them and get it out in the sun the flake really pops you will really like yours once you have done your magic to it.
I’ve been following mat armstrong forever and love his content. Checked this lad out and he’s just as good, but this is like the notmal version. Like a bmw m3 is attainable for me. It’s a great watch ❤
Bmw don't start straight away if battery is fully flat. You need to wait about 10 min with jump pack or jump lead cable then it will start. Otherwise no start whatsoever you do. Put jump lead and wait 10 minutes next time then try. Top tips for you.
I had a 2011 competition in Ruby Black what a car you just reminded me to look at some old pics of mine with the paint popping in the sunshine and it looks ace 😎I recommend once repaired do the rod bearings, an evolve engine and gearbox map, upgrade the brakes, maybe do the exhaust mod (although I never bothered as the car sounded epic) I replaced the grills with rare dark bronze ones off the M3 ltd. edition and then perfect car. Wondering why I sold mine now🤔😄 Good luck with build...
Chris! Great content mate, that's a great find. I can see it was sold on 14th May 2019 with 95k for £19,925. Interesting to compare to the price you paid, but that was pre crash & pre COVID.
I got a white E92 M3, absolutely love it! Please make sure the bearings are done, they should have been done around 60k miles so at 120, they should probably be done again.
Great car love the M3 something all you guys on you tube need to do is before you start working on the car take the battery of and charge it makes life alot easier keep up the good work
Mate I love watching your work on all these car so much to the point t that I am Hoi g to go back to college to study how wire cars up I need thanks for the inspiration
Price wise I think you've done well provided the costs to rebuild aren't too high. Definitely a good spec and being a CS and Individual always helps. I previously had the E93 version and absolutely loved it...miss it all the time but sold it as wasn't getting driven and was offered silly money. Have fun with it...that S65 is a beast! 😊
Love it Chris. If you call Rochdale BM and ask nicely, I'm sure they will provide you copies of the service history. Just tell them you are happy for them to block out previous owners details for GDPR 😂
Great video Chris, been waiting for you to get one of these since you asked for car suggestions and I mentioned one of these. Your response showed your love for one of these. Now you finally have one. One of my dream cars also 👍
Next time when a bolt is giving you a hard time heat it up first it will break it up and save someone loved that car and took care of it might of had the bearing done on it already.
I just sold my oem F82 blue caliper, discs and shields which is the perfect upgrade for the weak E92 sliding caliper brakes, would have been perfect for this E92
Reaaaally strange the amount of force that the engine needed to start up…… mine did that with a rod bearing spun so it took a loooot of tries thinking it was the battery instead of a crankshaft stuck😂😂 please check bearings!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watched the whole episode, beautiful BMW as always. I hope you will be pleased with this car. I've always dreamed of something like this, unfortunately it's not within my budget. Greetings from Coventry
Great colour car maybe a good one .Competition pack is the way the car should always have been. I had 2 loved them to bits except putting fuel in was a drag even if you can afford it 😂
Hey Chris. Good content. Glad to see you in your friend Matt’s as well lately. So it turns out you probably didn’t overpay. Well, then please don’t click bait your thumbnails like that. The better story is that it’s a rare find, don’t you think? Thanks
Love the car I’ve got one as well so it’s nice to see what you guys are doing to the car. I wish i could get mine up to scratch. Keep up the good work good video as well. I’m going to bmw to see if they would give me a history on mine as well many thanks
Congratulations chris happy for you I owned one of these great cars for 3 years your going to absolutely love it miss mine has soon has I sold it got a F80 M3 now fast but not the same ❤
Love your videos chris you take on some mad crashed cars but i love watching the progress getting them back on the road. Keep up the good work mate and i cannot wait for the next update on the X3M
My fav BMW as well 🎉 keep my fingers crossed, I admire the transition from detailing to rebuilding 💪keep up the good work and you'll soon catch up with MA level of subs. You deffo have my "vote" 🤘🤘
I am from South Africa and we absolutely love e92 M3’s!! Can’t wait to see the progress on this build…🇿🇦❤
Yeah sure, you guys like to hijack them!!
Shame on you, it must be nice labelling us from your keyboard lol
🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I dare him come say that nonsense in SA, probably has never even been here. What a chop
Its no secret that SA is an extremely unsafe space full of xenophobia..

I've rebuilt mine twice. For me it was worth it!

That colour is very similar to "Etna Black" that I had on my Alfa Romeo. That will be some absolutely stunning paint when the sun shines

The dct are the best ones to have.
@@DaleSteel All depends on what you like but that engine with a manual suits it so well
Your dad is cool
M539 has done loads to an e92 worth a watch looking forward to this build im not jealous 😢
M539 Restaurations has overhauled the engine on one of these in case you need tips. This will be an amazing built when it’s done. Best of luck Chris!🎉👌🙏
M539 is one of my favourite channels for detailed work
@M539Restoration is probably the best RUclips channel. I hope many content creators can follow Sreten’s example. 😄
Frr
Comminnng uppp😅😅😅
I have broke so many torx bits on that same arm. God bless halfords advanced warranty.
Also main bearings are something to look out for, specially the one nearest to the timing chain
We are Ruby Black Metallic E92 twins.
You got me real excited when you showed the color, goodluck on the rebuild

I like this format, especially where your boys come just to help out a bit
I’ve been following mat armstrong forever and love his content. Checked this lad out and he’s just as good, but this is like the notmal version. Like a bmw m3 is attainable for me. It’s a great watch ❤
Watching you and matt I fix my own car wasn't as bad as what you guys do but thanks to both its saved lot money
As soon as a wheel isn’t straight they class it as structural. Bonus when it’s a £15 track rod end
Bmw don't start straight away if battery is fully flat.

Love the e92’s 👌🏼 only ever seen one other BMW in Ruby Black, rare colour! Beauty!
My 12 plate bmw x5 is individual in rubin shwach metallic. Lovly colour

How were you able to find this out ?😅
@@ryansxperiance I use the app total car check, it's really good. It gives you tonnes of information on a car via the reg and it's free.
Absolutely stunning car…not overpaid!!!! What a beauty
being such a rare car I think it deserves an engine checkup with new aftermarket rod bearings so it lives for many more miles
I used to work at the rochdale bmw 😅 I probably cleaned it when I came in haha
That Rubin metallic is sick, love the car and loving the build hope for no hidden gremlins along the way 😎🤞
Could you do a garage update please with everything you own and tell us what we can expect to see in the upcoming year?
E30 will always be the best. I'll never stop regretting that I didn't buy one in my early twenties for £8k
Ce n’est pas un concours juste des passionnés de voiture magnifique m3 👍
Love the e92 M3. Have a 335 e92 myself, but the M3 will be in my garage one day. Peace
I got a white E92 M3, absolutely love it! Please make sure the bearings are done, they should have been done around 60k miles so at 120, they should probably be done again.
Would they still need to be done every 60k miles even if the bearings are replaced with better aftermarket ones?
@@aadamsalie3664 yes, new ones might be better but they should still be replaced every 60k mls
@WijzeManNL ohhh I see. Thanks brother. Dreaming of owning one of these cars
One of my all time favorite cars as well. Good luck!
Great car love the M3 something all you guys on you tube need to do is before you start working on the car take the battery of and charge it makes life alot easier keep up the good work
Awesome ! Hope you dont get the parts mixed up with the X5 parts - BMW bits everywhere 😊

Great vidio Chris ...just a note ..an extension on an impact gun acts as a torsion spring so you lose loads of UGA DUGA power
Good luck on the Beamer Chris 🙏👍
You have to let the car sit with jumper on for a little while let the charge build up
All about that e92 life. Let's go 💪
Owned one of these (and wrote it off.. ) best car I’ve had - don’t ruin it with too many mods! Keep it simple :)
This is one of my favourite cars, I really hope you put a custom exhaust on this thing. That s65 sounds so good
The colour… never seen it. Looks bangin
Modern classic! This is my era of cars ❤
In the states you can go walk the yard and start the vehicles and all that at Copart we do it all the time
Love the E92 M3, looking forward to this series!
Brilliant vid, i love that BMW helped to confirm you made a good purchase. keep up the great work.
Big fan had one few years ago epic cars great content as always 👌
my mates brother owns the same spec but its RHD its a nice car to have i think he only installed a different intake idk who made it buts its carbon

Power steel pump is whining try topping up and bleeding. Quality car.
Great watch can’t wait to see the progress on channel happy new year
Probably the alternator making that whine
Next time when a bolt is giving you a hard time heat it up first it will break it up and save someone loved that car and took care of it might of had the bearing done on it already.

Its a wicked motor to work and own. Mileage aside its a good price for the spec. Keep up the good work big fan of M power cars myself.
Really enjoying the videos and this ticks the boxes. I thought I had subscribed but wasnt....... I have changed it now ;)
That picture defo made me think its a Mat Armstrong video 😂😂😂 good copy lad, hope you smash it 👍
Didn't know you had your own channel. Love your style mate, new sub!
Might be the alternator. Mine sounded like that and it was the diodes in the alternator
You’re 29! Tough paper round. Just playing, looking forward to this series
Really happy for you Chris the car is the nuts
Great colour car maybe a good one .Competition pack is the way the car should always have been.
I had 2 loved them to bits except putting fuel in was a drag even if you can afford it 😂

Power steering fluid could be low that's why it's whining..my m3 did this
