In this video we tackle the dull look of the #volkswagen mk8 #golfr #salvage project which we have spent the last few videos repairing but before I finally hit the road in it I want to make sure the car looks at least a little bit better!

@@kings3803 as generic as it sounds my dream always has and always will be a lamborghini from between 2000-2010 they are the cars i grew up idolising so it would be a dream to buy one to build and keep but i know its all been done before so alot may not want to see that

I’ve had a mk8 R for little over a year and I love it. Perfect daily driver. Quick, comfortable and decent on fuel when not driving it like an absolute maniac!
Your take on the golf r is the exact reason I went for an i30N. Don't get me wrong, the golf r is much quicker, but it is about as dull as a butter knife.
The i30N feel special everytime I drive it.
The i30n is a great car out the box truly under rated

I've fitted a full body kit from maxton on my mk8, makes it look so much better imo
I think put an aftermarket exhaust and you’ll love the results
Followed your i30 last week on the A46 and it was brilliant, like a modern Group B rally car. You tube doesn’t do it justice. I hope this one turns out just as good.

Completely understand when you say its not an exciting car to drive. I had the same when i got a Mk3 Focus RS. It was just too good at everything and it didn't demand much from the driver. I went back to an Integra DC5 and never looked back! Love the build Chris, keep up the good work

I totally agree Chris as I had a Golf GTI Performance and that was the same. I think they have been perfected by VW as has been around for a long time
Great vid ! Your comments on driving the R are exactly the same as my thoughts. Bought one last year with pan roof, leather,DSG, ACC, DCC etc etc. Lovely car but as you say it lacks drama. Had it mapped making it bl@@dy quick but still doesn't feel like an edgy sports hatchback. Thinking about swapping to a manual Clubsport for a bit more excitement.😁
Nice one Chris, the aftermarket parts look OEM + and make a real difference to the looks, but I agree it needs the sound to match and maybe some different wheels? However great video and good to see your on your way to 70k subscribers 👍🇬🇧

Love the carbon fibre extras looks alot better the mk8 does look a bit standard out the factory , think all it's lacking now is a decent exhaust to get that "performance car " feeling 😂😂 Them quick jack's r cool af do have they have safety locks on them tho

Hey Chris, if you didn't want the expense of a full exhaust you could fit a res delete pipe, you should get a lot of crackles/burbles then.
Yea I’m not to sure y people go mad on these car it doesn’t look anything special to look at and to be honest not my cup of tea and love watching this the way u build it back up great job
The side skirts look like the standard R-Line ones. It does look really good now :) :)

carVertical, the number of previous owners was incorrect. The Customer Support Team were not helpful and chose to explain the process on how they collect data as opposed to resolving the problem! Great videos and content.

The loose rad could have that been apart of the recall for the rad supports ? I have had a 22 gti that it happen twice and then I went to a 22 R and I would only drive in race it in race mode if your looking for the pops and bangs in the others modes they feel muted. Next would be exhaust and springs if I had to guess.
It aint boring, you’ve just got an low specced one. They do come with an aero kit like the on the gti clubsport.

You need to move esc into quick access menu and anything else you want in there . First thing I did to mine before any mods is go through all settings.
Please tell me how to do this 😂 its a nightmare
@Chris_Slix go to the menu screen and press and hold esc then it should let you move it to the quick option menu .
That CaRbOn fiBRE 😂bodykit is really popping out threw that colour... u picked a beautiful colour mr slix.... definitely needs an exhaust.... and the seatbelts matches that colour to the T..... maybe lower it a little.... i can't wait for the next video.... much respect brother.....
