I grew up in Benton...but now live mostly in the Pacific North West. I love and miss the mountains and the sky every day (there's good sky and mountains here, just different). Thank you so much for making this, it warmed me and put and ache in my chest. Coming home for a long visit soon.
*Orionid Meteor Shower 2012, Eastern Sierra - Music by Life Audience*
I had my Canon cameras out all night Friday and Saturday, with my widest focal length lenses and for as long as their batteries would last, to capture as many meteors as I could from five meteor showers active in the sky in close proximity: the Orionids, the Leo Minorids, the Northern and Southern Taurids, and the Eta Geminids!
The meteor shower action is from 2:18 - 3:42 in the video, and as usual, *_you'll best see the brief meteors if you select a quality setting of "720P HD" at the bottom of the player, and you also make the video go full screen_*. (For licensing opportunities I can supply these clips in up to Ultra HD 4K video.)
I've included additional footage from nearby in the Eastern Sierra to accompany the stunning music by *Life Audience*: _"Buddha Wears Headphones"_ from their *Waves and Particles album*. You can listen to the other soothing tracks from the album on iTunes: itunes.apple.com/gb/album/wave-particles/id427106760
If you'd like to practice night landscape and astrophotography yourself, follow my Eastern Sierra Nevada Workshops and Bodie Photo Workshops pages for announcements of upcoming workshops, and through the About section of my profile or via a limited share post to me, you can drop me a line to add you to my Night Workshop circle to keep you informed as well. My next night photography workshop will Dec 12-15 during the Gemind meteor shower.
Thanks in advance for +1s, comments, RUclips likes, and shares! Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated, as it all helps me pursue this dream of capturing the world's beauty, and the special events of the cosmos, for all to see.

Simply stunning. A master's work!
*Orionid Meteor Shower Peaked Last Night*
With the nearly full moon in the sky I didn't shoot the Orionid meteor shower this year, so here's my time-lapse video from several nights of shooting it last year.
I added some footage to fill out the length of the song _"Buddha Wears headphones"_ by *Life Audience*. If you'd like to skip forward to the meteor shower, go to 2:19 in the video: ruclips.net/video/BDeWDJLmEIc/видео.html

I love our planet. I'm glad others also see that it's a gem of beauty.
Beautiful films & Great choices of music...your 1,000th subscriber :)
You floored me two times today Jeff. I loved storm sequence with the sunset and the storm development. At the end with the trails - WOAH!
This is beautiful Jeff, thanks for sharing. Was originally looking for the Geminid showers and eventually found these stunning videos you have done.
Jeff, your choice of music really fits :) I'm going to check your other videos here.
Absolutely stunning!!!!
Thanks for sharing sooooooo coooool and beautiful 😍
welcome hahaha
Witnessed my first and probably last for this year's Orionid. It was beautiful. Big white streak of light that left a trail for less than 5 seconds. I guess the trail was illuminated by the moon.

Awesome! Am in awe of meteor showers
Jeff, you never cease to amaze me. This was fantastic and awe inspiring. I'm taking my masters qualifying exams tomorrow morning, and my brain is on overload and I'm extremely stressed out... this video is JUST what I needed to bring me some much needed rest and relaxation. Thank you for sharing.
Very much video... Well done
Got to be the best video I've seen in my life
Wonderful collection of time lapse captures - I can't wait to get down to that area myself.
Loved it! Thank you!
Very nice. Thanks for sharing this video, and also sharing a very chill tune.
Sean, My time-lapse videos span a number of Canon cameras, mostly from the 5D MarkII, some from the 40D for the faster frame rate, and some more recent clips from the 5D MarkIII. Bear in mind that the resolution drops 5X in pixels from even the 10 megapixel Canon 40D to 2K pixels at 1080p HD. The camera model is fairly irrelevant. It's the planning, composition, exposure technique and post-processing which make the biggest difference in the result.
Awesome footage Jeff, love it and the music.
wow amazing clear skies
I heard about it from you post at G+, and this is my second viewing.... with thanks.
AMAAAZING Jeeff! You have a new fan! thaanks :D :D
what a beauty breathtaking....
Lovely video, lovely music. Very relaxing. :)
Your video is absolutely breathtaking.
Makes me want to live out there.
I have to go out of the area and sneak into the mall parking lot to view any stargazing.
This year I was thinking of buying a guilly (sp) suit so I can hide from the security guard.
John, the first sequences were taken out in front of my house at Topaz Lake, on the California/Nevada border.
I cannot wait to see the Orionids Meteor shower tonight. >‿
Christopher, I often use a 16mm lens, sometimes 14mm, so there's some distortion as the lens tries to map an essentially spherical view onto a rectangular sensor surface.
AWESOME VIDEO MAN
Absolutely astounding 3
10/20/18 CANT WAIT TONIGHT

Congratuolations!!! this is art...
was the first few moments taken off Highway 395 at Little Lake? Or further North? That dried wood framing keys in on the former upper desert mining enclaves....rough existence. Lived in China Lake in the 50's....those clouds rarely made it over Owens Peak. Goose bumps!
Amazing!!
Belle vidéo, Bravo !
majestic
Beautifull...
2.38 is that the Andromeda Galaxy? :) this video is amazing
2:38

Yes, this will be the fifth year that I've been shooting night time-lapse videos. Check out my Night TImelapse playlist here on RUclips.
amaizing what God has created!!!!
awesome video man!!!!!
PERFEITO :3
The most exciting part is through wood slats. Really? There are anomalies in the sky throughout the video. As strange as this presentation is, it is beautiful.
Only thing I can say is WOW
Am I seeing parallax in the star scenes? Also in the While The Sun Was Sleeping video.
Wow wow. Wow
You have my permission to use it with attribution Neal, thanks for asking. Viewers wanting to see more of my work can find it at "Jeff Sullivan Photography dotcom".

hey bro did you record these videos your self?
♡
Wow
Perfeito!
You know fun fact when i watch the stars outside of my windows i can see only 50 or so. Lol
at about 2:25 to 2:29 right upper center of screen slow moving light ? is that slow burning meteor ?
Probably a satellite
how often shoot?

I want upload to our Channel and Life Audience gave me the permission, but i want also ask you. There are also any Credits or promotion to put to the video clip when i have uploaded to our chnannel? Let me know, please. Thanks.
More like Orinoid meteor sprinkle..
what type of camera is being used?
En Colobia A Que Horas Se Podra Ver?
Colombia
Thanks everyone!
Wow, 10X jump in views today. How did you hear about this video (thanks)?
Errm what was that at 2:25 ?
Most of those streaks are aircraft. But you have a couple of anomalous lights, another faint mover at 2:51 moving from the right - a possible satellite, though with an exposure of 10-15 seconds these are potentially slow moving objects. So slow that to the naked eye they probably did not look like they are moving at all.
Theres gonna be another one tonight
3:53 um dos meteoros se desvia da trajetória, como isso é possível ?
I don't get it.......
Hello Jeff Sullivan:
I am a producer for AccuWeather. This is an amazing video of the meteor shower. May we use this video for our syndicated news coverage for this year's upcoming Orionid Meteor Shower? You will be credited for the making of this video.
