Pretty sure there is literally NO way to beat Demyx without abusing Wisdom Form's ability to lock-on and move directly to targets while equipped with Eternal Flame spamming Firaga. The time limit is just way too low.
Hey I have a theory about this battle: you see Demyx uses a sound-based weapon and uses water at the same time so whenever he's puts you in that weird countdown mode of whatever you call it, the magic he is using is making the hydrogen in the air to get inside Sora's body in a atomic level that is trying to kill him from the inside (probably to the heart or lungs depending on the way water kills you) and also another thing is that Demyx's weakness is fire. It's seems weird I get it (believe me I tried using Thunder and I thought that would work, but strangely it doesn't (I mean water works with electricity right?) anyways I believe that by using fire your actually vaporizes the water aspect of this boss fight. So that's my theory so it could be true or false take your pick anyway I just wanted to get that off my chest for a while so yeah thanks for reading this comment!
Cool idea. The fire weakness is actually because Demyx's water attacks are programmed as ice attacks, so he'd suffer from the same weaknesses that Vexen and the Blue Rhapsodies do

The timer is 'if you don't beat the clones, he runs like a pussy.' Hydrogen is a component of water, but the Organization members controlled elements, not atoms. He's weak to fire because Water magic didn't exist, therefore he was coded as a Blizzard-type enemy. Great theory, but the lore kinda tears it apart.
This boss actually holds a special place for me. Maybe because I love water and guitars, maybe because when I was young I was the first to beat him (my 2 older siblings having tried for hours what took me half an hour), or maybe because I see myself in his actions as I too am a self-conscious wimp that avoids conflict and feels outclassed by my peers and even respect how much of a fight he puts up despite his reservations (granted the reflection fighters could be the members at their highest potential, but still). I just can't help but have him be one of my absolute favorite members of Organization XIII.
When I was 8, playing this game, I could not for the life of me beat Demyx. I tried for weeks and weeks. I have nightmares hearing “dance water dance!” I picked up the game a month ago and destroyed that fucker
My very first playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 2 back in 2007, it took me 30 tries to beat Demyx. 30. FUCKING. TRIES. I have a bad feeling that I'm about to experience that frustration all over again.
if you want to survive better, you might want to try the 'duck flare' limit of donald. Due to it's AoE and massive amount of hits, it's a pretty good choice for this battle.

It's actually a 100% guarantee to go Anti after you go Final with Light and Darkness. Anti has a few advantages, like it's not too awful against Marluxia since you won't get one shotted by his regular attacks.
This probably would have been a much better fight had they gotten ride of the timer. Or, have it so it’s not set to THIRTY god damn seconds every time he does the clones! The clones themselves aren’t the problem, it’s the timer that ruins this fight.
I'm level 37... valor level 7, wisdom level 6, master level 4... but I always turn into dark form in this battle. My magic is always greyed out... & he constantly 1 hit kills me. I've gotten him down to a slither of health so many times, just for him to get that drain all HP one hit. I can't get past the Hollow Bastion battle.
Ok someone help. Everytime I try to use wisdom form at the start of the battle to take out the water clones, I go into anti form. EVERY DAMN TIME. I could have sworn it was random. The one battle where I need drive the most, and fucking anti form just keeps popping up. WTF?????
First of all he's not even on Critical mode. Second he could've beaten him a lot quicker if he didn't shot him with wisdom form, he should've set him ablaze with forage and call it a day lol
Your Anti-Count is too high. Whenever you go Valor, Wisdom, Limit (I think), and Master, you get 1 Anti-Point. The more Points you have the more likely you are to go Anti-Form. Whenever you go Anti-Form your count is lowered by 4. However. You can not go into Anti-Form When you chose Final Form; whenever you chose Final Form, you go into Final Form, It also lowers your Anti-Count by 10. My advice is 1). Go into combat. 2). Go into Final Form. 3). Go to a save spot (or an area where Donald and Goofy Don't follow you), while still in Final Form, and exit to the world map. Doing this will refill you Drive Gauge so you won't have to refill it yourself. 4). Repeat at least 3 times, 4 if you want be safe. and that should fix your problem.
What's yur secrete dude Everytime I try 99 forms in 30 seconds is seriously INHUMAN like when I go wisdom form and spam firaga I never get them all in time. Yur character seems to spit fire at a bigger radius then me and yu move around a lot more faster and all my shit is maxed out too like wtf he's the hardest in the game.
I really don't have a secret. I mean, I barely completed the 99 forms in 30 seconds with less than a second left on the clock. One thing I can mention is when you use Fire in Wisdom Form, don't move Sora yourself, left him move on his own when you use Fire. There's really nothing else I can give "advice wise."

I know this is 3 year late but the reason his fire is bigger is because he is doing a fire finisher. Basically if you do the spell fast enough the last hits will be stronger. Finishers come after combos. You can try a do a ground combo and then at the end of the combos do a spell. It will be the bigger finisher one

The only form I found using the most for this fight was the valor for those damn clones and wisdom before final mix finally came here...

I almost beat this one on my first try I lost because i went into Limit Form instead of Wisdom and It stung when lost that final "Dance,water Dance!"

Since Demyx is a water elemental, I think he should also be weak against Thunder as well as Fire.

Go fight some nobodies to waste your antiform and then go for the battle again

I killed him at the end with fire, but the attack killed before the animation for the attack could even begin, so it came out looking really weird.
