One of my all time favorite jams. The hypnotic moog bass pattern, the layers & layers of vocals, instrumentation & sound effects and the overall production value, all combined, is absolutely out of this world!
It blew my mind when I heard it for the first time and it still blows my mind!
The phrase Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadooloop was inspired by Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious which is the name of a song from the 1964 Mary Poppins movie .

Catfish Collins..... bootsy Collins brother played alot of Parliament funkedelic riffs ....he also played the guitar 🎸 on make it funky by James Brown....and sex machine....boosty and cat fish Collins started with James brown band.... Nile Rodgers of chic took cat fish Collins style on the guitar and flipped it ...as we say in the hood....he put his own twist to it

Why should I hold my breath, I met the funk mob back in 1975 shrine theatre when Parliament was featuring the hit album Mothership connection. Me and my brother won backstage passes for winning 3rd place in naming the mothership. we named it Chocolate Rainbow. 1979 Los Angeles colosseum The FUNK FESTIVAL started at 11am and ended with THE MOTOR BOOTY AFFAIR ALBUM 1am The Bird belonged to Dr Funkienstine and was used to pick Sir Nose up and drop him into the ocean full of funk. Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadooloop was the art of dancing underwater and not getting wet. Sir Nose could not master this and refused to get wet and despised the DR,'s plan to raise Atlantis from the deep. enter Rumpelstiltskin and his false bottom motor booty ladies with dynamite sticks hidden in their rumps Him and Sir Nose planned to blow up the underwater party downtown number 1 Bimini Road. the Bird call was to signal the arrival of Star Child and used to antagonize Sir nose. Back in the day there was no group that could compete with there on stage performances and their music. Funk On

Hey brother. I've been a PFunk fan since the early 70s. I love synth bass and keyboard. Big Bernie Worrell fan. This song has how many different bass lines? Bernie's acoustic piano parts kill me not to mention all the underwater synth sounds, how did they go in the studio and come out with Aqua Boogie, amazing still
Everything you said is a fact. Bernie Worwell, Bootsy, Boogie Masson, "Junie" Morrison, David Spragling, Gary Shider, Eddie Hazel, George Clinton and others gave us Funkateers great P-Funk experiences in the 70s, 80s and a little in the 90s!

1. This is a concept album...
2. Aqua boogie...while it is the jam and obviously a classic...is not the best song on the album. Its just the most well known from this album.
3. You can actually tell who produces what on this album. There are 3 songs OBVIOUSLY produced by Junie Morrison and 2 songs produced by Bernie Worrell.
