    I love how Jackie Earle Haley has become the quintessential voice of Rorschach. You can tell Titus Welliver is trying to do an impression of him.

      I just hope when they get to the Rorschach prison scene, they differentiate his voice from his normal and masked persona. The comic text box shapes convey this transition.

      Telltale's style of options choosing and click to interact gameplay is perfect for detective stories, that's why I love The Wolf Among Us. The only flaw I have with their style is that alot of the choices don't matter as the story progression is already fixed with you getting the same outcome no matter the decision (ex: choosing to kill or try to save this one character but no matter which you choose the outcome will still end up with that character dying anyway despite the choices.).

      @@keithcurry3608 Detroit: Become Human is peak for having 85 endings. If I were to play a game where I shape the story with my morals and decision, I want those choices I make to actually have an impact and matter and like Until Dawn or The Quarry, I want it to have more suspense where your decision can actually lead to even the possibility of all the characters ending up dead.

    I bet many think that Night Owl II is based on Batman, which is incorrect. He's actually based on Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle.

    Rorschach's voice isn't working. He sounds too normal. Sure, it's raspy, but it's supposed to be unsettling, monotone, giving away how messed up the guy is.

      It's his pace for me. He's too in a rush, and by contrast makes Dreiberg sound overly slow. I love the Jackie Earle Haley tone, however.

      His tone seem quick tempered and too angry all the time. He his too quick wit. It diminish the ponderation laps that show case his inner uneasiness to classic social interactions and make him feel a lesser watchful entity of human nature it felt in the movie.

      It's the subtle things that they miss out on, like when he says "Yeah, human bean-juice." In the comic, Rorschach chuckles after he says that line, like he just made a joke that went over Dan's head and it amuses him.
      His voice also feels too forceful and hasty, as others have pointed out. Rorschach is complex, contemplative...a deep-thinker. Having a slower, more deliberate cadence would fit him much better in scenes like this one.

      Rorschach always had that gravelly voice, even in the comic. Alan Moore wrote Watchmen way before they gave Batman that goofy deep voice. If anything it’s the opposite, they ripped off Rorschach.

      @@krystalneko4094 not Really. he is described to speak in a slow monotone way.. and during he time on jail you can notice he is extremely stoic most of the time
      the only time he was describe as Feral was he had an emotional break down and beat the bullies that were pushing him around.
      and the description given to him is suppose to from an outside perspective with no idea or consideration of what was going on ..
      as far as i know. the movie was the first Time Walter was interpreted as being in a constant state of anger .

      No it’s just not necessary to show before they go into the lair. You can argue that he closed it before going downstairs. It doesn’t matter because it doesn’t affect the plot and throws off the pacing of the film.

      He doesn't want them back. They tried to give the rights to Watchmen back to him and he refused. Moore felt he never should have had to ask for them back in the first place. He felt swindled and tricked, and on top of that, felt that DC had taken too long in trying to make amends with him. He refuses to talk about Watchmen and wants no part in any future projects related to Watchmen. He doesn't even keep a copy of the book in his home anymore.

    I read the comic a month ago. This is almost a 1 to 1 recreation of the panels and dialogue.

      I think that's the goal. I liked Smyder's version, amd it's a pretty close recreation in some parts, but it definitely diverges. There wouldn't be much of a point in doing another one unless they were either completely going in their own direction or creating a direct, complete adaptation, akd it seems that they're taking the latter approach.

      To me, the art style isn't great, but it at least captures the clean look of the comics. What I dislike is how stiff and cheap the animation feels - no matter the art style, that level of animation is going to hold you back.

    Rorschach's sleuthing skills are spot on. I also like how Rorschach and Owlman has a very good friendship despite how much a loner Rorschach is makes me feel glad he at least has Daniel. Could mean he trusts Daniel.

    This is going to sound oddly specific but, I just loved how Rorschach interrupts NiteOwl when saying "you quit". Feels like they break down the pause between panels as these exchange is shown in 2 panels in the book.
    Hearing such a different delivery compared to how i pictured when i read the book caught me by surprise.

      No, in the comic they just knew him as the Comedian. When Rorschach searches Blake's apartment after the murder, he's surprised to find that Blake is the Comedian. The Comedian was famous but Blake didn't have much of a public profile. So it's not surprising they didn't make the connection.

      @@arandompasserby7940 Yes, Well we differ there, I loathed certain things in the movie version such as Zack Snyder’s alteration of Rorschach in the child kidnapping scene such as when Hailey took a cleaver to the kidnapper’s head, Moore and Gibbons’s Rorschach would have viewed that as far too merciful a death and something that he didn’t deserve as compared to burning him alive for an hour and watching him die slowly and painfully among other things. But I’ve been a fan of Moore and Gibbons’s Watchmen comic long before there was ever any mention of a Watchmen movie. And Moore is certainly a Brit, so it’s not like you’re going to get a Bronx accent from him in a reading.

      The whole movie is criminally underrated. The only part that sucked was replacing Ozymandias’ psychic alien monster with Dr. Manhattan’s bomb. It pokes a hole in the story, but I know they did it for budget reason and R rated superhero movies weren’t popular yet.

      The magic of the live action version was that the whole comic book came to life this just sends it back to cheap fantasy

      @@kaj7135I never liked many of the other alterations in that movie such as Rorschach killing that child kidnapper with a cleaver to the head,
      (Moore and Gibbons’s Rorschach would have viewed that as far too quick and merciful a death for someone like him and not something he deserved, compared to burning him alive and watching it for an hour.) The prison break scene which was altered in that film, and the lack of nostalgia and poignancy ala the comic, and the soundtrack which grated on me. Among other things.

    I like how some of the scenes are indicating that Rorschach is the one identifying The killer, where in the Zack snyder's version night owl is the one who finds out that the comedian has many enemies. Zack snyder's version also include some extra scenes where Rorschach talks about how Knight owl hiding in plain sight

    I've recently been watching this, the movie, and the animated web comic they used to promote the movie and each have their own strengths (even the movie for all you haters) over each other, I think this ones is some nice dramatic pacing, the right level of pause between dialogue

    Have you noticed Rorschach's trench coat? It is clean and unbroken. That is a failure, there is a key moment in which this character stops taking care of his forms. And those who made this adaptation have ignored it.

    Either get Jackie Earle Haley or Steve Blum (yes in my opinion Steve would make a great Rorschach voice )

      Imo, Rohrschach should sound dead inside, like there is something off about him.

    Cool that they animated this from the comics, but I feel like Rorschach's voice actor is too quick, maybe its just the voice direction but its really curt and fast. almost like I'm listening to it sped up or something.

    I know this isn't popular but all this animated version really made me do is appreciate the film a lot more particularly the extended cut.
    It's weird I thought this would be better than the movie but I have to say the movie just did it better

      I remember Alan Moore doing a Watchmen reading of Rorschach. He gave him a cold broken dead monotone voice hinting at his insanity, It’s what I always remember whenever I re-read Watchmen.
