As someone who played a TON of the first game, I was not ready for a phase 4 and it completely blew me out of the water. Terrifyingly intense, only to be capped off with a gorgeously nostalgic credit sequence. What an incredible remaster.
yeahh the 4th phase is so good !! i never got to fight Providence in the first game unfortunately (i accidentally looped instead of proceeding to the 6th stage D:). i completely agree, the remaster is amazing !
@@papa1337_ Yeah in the original he only had the first three phases, which is what made the fake-out so much more impactful for me. I was literally sitting there like "damn, they took away his death dialogue. Oh well, gg." and then BAM! Nuclear Throne-esque laser out of nowhere!
@@N0PH0B14i had also thought that the fight was over after the third phase, and i was trying to figure out what i had to do to leave the planet lmao, but then he comes back with an awesome final phase ! i have to say, the backgrounds for the fight are really sick too!!
It was pretty stressful the first time because I was expecting the fight to finally be over, but after doing some god runs I got the feeling his fourth phase took the difficulty from the gilded worms. They feel weaker than the first game.
Providence, at his last moments, kneeling in front of the survivor with its 22 unblinking crimson eyes, realized what he had done, he felt sorry, for everything, and vanished
The first time I saw his final phase, me having played the original Risk 1 many times (enough tries to get his monster log too) my face fucking lit up with excitement and sadness. They did his fight justice compared to how easy he was in the original game. He went out fighting like an absolute badass, I really wish we didnt have to kill him.
i can see the similarities between them hah. i don't think the game is too demanding. if you can run terraria on your pc i'm guessing it can run risk of rain returns! the minimum specs should be listed on the game's store page on steam anyway :)

@@dariosaenz940 as his logbook entry states -- he gave the survivor no choice but to kill him in self defense.
That phase 4 looked like it was ripped right out of Calamity. Top tier work, and brilliant homage paid to the original. Thanks for recording it.
