Bourbon Glazed Bacon Wrapped Smoked Shrimp - The Perfect Appetizer!

- Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp taken to a new level by giving them a baste of Garlic butter and a Bourbon Glaze. These Bourbon Glazed Bacon Wrapped Smoked Shrimp are the perfect appetizer for any bbq meal!
10 10-15 Shrimp uncooked with shell
5 Strips uncooked Bacon
Remove Shell leaving the tail on then wrap in a half a strip of bacon, Then coat with "the rub" and place in foil pan. (Note: To purchase GQue's "The Rub" please visit: gquebbq.com/product/gque-bbq-...)
Smoke with Hickory for 15 minutes in 350 pit - bacon should be about 75% cooked and rub should be set on the bacon. Baste with Garlic Butter (melt 1 Stick salted butter and 3 cloves of garlic) Return to Smoker until bacon is cooked through about 8 minutes.
Remove and dunk each shrimp in Bourbon Glaze (.5 part Bourbon, 1 part Horseradish Cocktail Sauce, 4 parts topper BBQ sauce) and return to the new pan cook for 5 minutes until glaze sets up remove from smoker and baste with Garlic Butter one more time. Garnish with Curly parsley and spritz with Lemon. (optional)

Jason, I just ordered bacon wrapped shrimp at a Mexican place. They were outstanding! Yours look even BETTER!! I love those low-numbered one pound bags of big, raw frozen shrimp. I have made these several times and they are delicious. Bacon easier to wrap if you lay bacon flat on cutting board and role the shrimp. Thank you for the awsome recipe..

I did this to a tee awesome used hickory with a mix of apple wood, did this on my bbq with a smoker box this is a keeper loved the taste added brown sugar to the the sauce my taste do it is

Yeah Troy the horseradish cocktail sauce is key IMO. Yeah good catch haha! We cook the ribs at 275 but kicked em up for about 30 minutes while the shrimp was on!.

Have you tried bacon wrapped Oysters yet? Some kind of good for sure.
You need very thin bacon cut in half and kind of pre cooked in a pan and then take the largest steamed Oyster and wrap them in the bacon and then use a toothpick to secure them + dipping them in butter or your sauce then put them on your grill just to cook the bacon a little more and then ENJOY to the moistest A+A+A+ Some kind of good I say :)

The ONLY thing I would have done differently is to pour the bourbon into the cup you had the cocktail sauce in, to rinse it out. Other than that, this is bookmarked and I WILL be trying this on my smoker this summer. Thanks!

What is the reason for not deveining your shrimp? The black vein that runs along the shrimp's back is its intestinal tract.

how to cook the shrimp if you don't have a smoker?
Also cooking time and over temp.
Works the same in the oven - just make sure you have it on convection you won’t get the smoke flavor but it will still taste good!!

Nice thought but that's a lot of cook time for shrimp! Maybe an intensely smoked bacon to start? Need to see how big the shrimp really are. Interesting process -- from an old French chef.
