In this video Jay Robarge of Broader Performance will explain what welded fins and furnace brazed converters mean. He will also briefly discuss the importance of this.
Good question. Yes it can. I use silicon bronze wire to minimize warping and we have an electronic balancer to make sure it is still in balance after work is performed.
I'm glad I purchased a converter from you. My 408 with a turbo and you're transbrake is gonna be building a lot of torque off the line. I had a couple other converters that sounded like a screwdriver running across bicycle spokes when you spin them after a couple months of use.
Back in the 90s I bought a torque converter call GER and it wasn’t too long after that it ballooned and it fucked up my thrust bearing on my 440 and stuff like that. Yeah there’s converters for junk.
Wonderful explanation and demonstration.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Does welding warp anything or have any balancing issues?

Thank you. We appreciate the business. Sometimes bearings can fail as well causing the noise you refer to.
So, for the most part are your welds mirrored? To keep in balance?
What's the best way to test balance post welding?
Yes they are. We have an electronic balancer to true it up once it's finished.
@@BroaderPerformance Thanks for the clarification!

I remember back in the 80s those huge yellow ads in EVERY magazine. Lets just say those were production quality.
I wonder if this is for mine!
I always weld the fins and on the racing converters even more so. Sometimes I do use a furnace brazed 11 or 12 inch converters as well.
