this man is great,He was blind since the age of 12 and has done so much in his life, We thank him for his beautiful music and such a beautiful voice, I can listen to him 24/7.
Fell in love with his voice the first time I heard him. I was on vacation and Mary and I stopped in an Italian restaurant, she is now passed. It was a special time. We had a fabulous meal and both were taken by Andrea's lovely voice. We came home and bought his CD'.
This Italian version of this wonderful hymn really pulls at my Heartstrings. Reason why is because I sang this to my older sister who is older than me by two years as she was passing away due to cancer on her last day of life. It's kind of ironic really because I was born with a progressive terminal illness that will get worse and worse as I get older and now on top of that I have cancer. My sister and I were really devout Catholics and we were extremely close to one another. She learned how to do every single bit of my care to the point where my parents would refer to her as a nurse from a young age. From feeding me with my feeding tube when I got it put in later on in life all the way to my daily IV medications and putting the IV needle in my port, suctioning, changing my feeding tube when needed, and helping me with my breathing machine BiPAP and nighttime oxygen. She was used to helping me and giving me all the treatments and care I need but on my 18th birthday and the day before she was going to turn 20 because she started feeling really tired and other symptoms started occurring she got a diagnosis and it was cancer and we were both so heartbroken. And I told her that looks like we'll be going through difficult treatments together. We both love our Italian side of our heritage to the point where we learned how to speak and sing fluently in Italian and every year we would both sing this version during Christmas when we found out about it I would play my mandolin and sing the melody and she would always sing harmony and we would do it completely in Italian. She had to quit nursing because of the circumstances she wanted to become a nurse because she helped our parents take care of me for many years and she took care of me for many years as well. When it was her last day I'll never forget it it was December 24th 2018 Christmas Eve the day before the birth of our Lord when everyone it's supposed to be their happiest. Everyone in our immediate family came up to her hospital room and cool thing is she was treated at the hospital that I was treated at ever since I was a baby and where I'm going to be treated at for the rest of my life so we shared some of the same nurses. But when she felt herself really starting to go to God I guess she asked everyone but me the step out of the room because she wanted some alone time with just me. Since I am a bit underweight due to my health I sat next to her in her bed when I was thanking her for all that she's done over these years I got choked up because I didn't want her to go and she reached out and put her arm around me and after thanking me for the closeness we had over these years she told me that she knows I'm going to miss her so much and she knows this is going to be very hard but I shouldn't be worried because she'll see me at those Pearly Gates really soon and I was like that is so true because of how my health is. Before she passed away she asked if we could sing this hymn this exact version one more time. We were able to and by the grace of God she had the strength to do the harmony and her vocal cords were Top Notch as usual. Little did I know that Mom and Dad left her room door cracked so that way they could hear us and right as we were done singing and as we were hugging my big sister passed away. Everyone was in tears especially when we were singing especially our mom and dad. Now on top of the illness I've had since birth I have stage 4 cancer and what my sister said was true and here soon I'll be able to see her at those Pearly Gates I love you sis and I miss you. Even though you weren't a nurse yet from a young age you were probably the best nurse I've had I can't wait to see you soon and I hope you come to me in a special way on my last day . ❤❤❤

Just finnished reading an the Wikipedia article on Boccelli; let me just say that those critics indicating that his voice is lackluster are smoking something VERY potentt or they need to get their brain checked. This man is definitely one of the GREATEST tenors of all time.
I have no idea what he's saying in the beginning, but with a voice so calming and powerful as his... It's like the meaning just comes to you but not in words I know, just too beautiful to make a difference.
