I’m not from South Africa but when murder is at a 20 year high and your minister of police says you’re on a ‘little bit’ of a back foot, he might be underestimating the problem.

He is part of the gangs, gets money etc from the criminals, just super corrupt.
In South Africa, you pay taxes that get stolen by the cANCer (ANC ruling party). Then you hire private companies to do the government jobs - security, medical, schools, everything. Everything you must get done by private enterprise, and pay for it. We pay taxes twice.
Couldn't have said it better
Hey Tjaka, hoe gaan dit met Grove
Most democratic government rule countries are experiencing this at the moment and it's getting worst by the day .
Welcome to the political Right. We've been expecting you.
Then leave!
This is what happens when you have a government of criminals, for criminals, staff by criminals. A large portion of the police have criminal records and they are frequently found to be involved in these types of crimes. The great part of these robberies, are that the robbers very seldom use the money wisely, instead spending most of it on alcohol.
No wealth acquired via criminal enterprise is ever used wisely. No matter how cool headed they are, it always turns out badly.

Even in a corrupt and criminal country there are still good people doing regular jobs trying to maintain some stability. These security guards are national heroes. Without them going to work the country would collapse.
YES, THEY STOOD UP AGAINST APARTHEID ISRAEL.
The society.
there are maybe only a handful ones yes, but at least 99 % of the cops in SA are themselves corrupt, as how many times when these groups are caught there's a cop involved and most of the R5 being used in these acts are either "stollen" or given to them by a cop, and the control room workers are 100 % involved by giving out the information of the said days route going to be used, as how do they know where the vehicle is going to be at that moment
Bitcoin literally fixes all of this.

These idiots were arresting surfers during covid, they will never be able to reduce crime, the truth is that the criminals are way smarter than the police minister. 'There are things that have happened that have put us on the backfoot'. Yes, like dismantling South Africa's elite police units and giving operational command to people who don't deserve a mop job.
The same elite units used to terrorize the black community?
That performed renditions, tortures & extra judicial killings, you miss them??
I was referring to the Special Task Force, which was a tier one special force comparable to the British SAS and the American delta force. The men who served in it were first-rate operators - the finest Africa has produced - and specialised in counter-terrorism. You can read about their operations online. You can also read about what happened to best people in the unit: they were all, down to a man, driven out of the service by the ANC's usual mixture of corruption, nepotism and criminal negligence. Most ended up in the US working in private security and earning twenty times what they could in South Africa. I assume you will regard this as a 'victory' for the 'liberators', but these men had skills and competencies that South Africa has never replaced. Driving them away destroyed the capacity of the state to deal with the criminality that now cripples our country.
FYI the Special Task Force remains to this day. Its most notable recent 'operation' was the senseless massacre of the Marikana miners - an operation planned, led, and executed by black police, who were more than happy to terrorise the black community on the bidding of the corrupt president-in-waiting. 27,000 murders is insane for a population of almost 60 million and for a country quite small in per square km

You would expect murder rates to fluctuate over different years, let's 18000 one year and maybe 32000 the following year, 15000 the next, but if you look at the crime stats the figure is fairly constant year on year, almost like a quota is being fulfilled. Those trends, hey.
Someone is making some good money.
RIAANNEL....since 1995/1996...the murder rate had been a constant 18000 - 20000 per year....in the last 5 years we are looking at 25000 - 30000....these are reported cases of Murder!!! The figure is much likely higher. You dont usually get these numbers of death in a population unless there is a WAR!!

They do use it. They have a found a way to deactivate it, and secondly dye stained notes are still used as currency in the informal settlements.
@ferdinandbasson3033 What about a suitcase that just blows up with the money? I'm sure they have intelligence teams and probably already considered everything we think of though.
Because the people in charge are corrupt and are probably making money out of this. Can we in the West just close our borders now?
That's the same question why not go cashless at all, everybody accepts electronic payment, no more CIT........
They aren't doing that because that's not feasible.
Smart idea, more of this.
Completely destroy the currency.
It had me thinking of implementing a way to reprint destroyed currency, which in theory could work with enough safe-guards against potential exploitation.
Downside being the cost of implementation. False-positives, and the potential for holding cash-in-transit ransom etc.
Worth exploring these ideas though.
Why don't they rent a chopper and transfer money using it?
Respect to you guys 😰
Minister of police Bheki Cele said the CIT guards shouldn't carry semi auto weapons (rifles and hand guns) at all. They should carry preferably pistols, preferably revolvers. The robbers work environment was getting way to dangerous for them so they went to complain to their boss, the minister for him to make the guards a lot more vulnerable and easier to hit as targets.
