Outstanding info. Very well-presented and spot-on with accuracy. I've used Trainline many times to research and purchase tickets, and just as you say, it's easy peasy. Also, nice tip about being able to keep an eye on your bags!

This was fantastic! I plan on train travel Dec, after Rhine cruise. Are the Swiss trains easy to use? Can I bring more than one suitcase? Thanks so much!

I’m glad it was helpful to you! For Swiss trains there is a luggage rack at the end of most rail cars, storage between the seats, and an overhead rack. As long as you can carry it and it will fit, then you should be fine. I often have a carry-on suitcase, a backpack, and hand luggage and it’s no problem. If you have bigger suitcases or multiple items that you can’t carry easily, Switzerland has it together when it comes to luggage service. If you think you have too much luggage for the train, or you just want someone else to deal with it, they will ship it ahead and you can pick it up. You can do door to door, station to door, or station to station. It’s not that expensive and there is a weight limit but it’s an amazing service! You’ll have a great time there in December!
