- Summary
Sully Airsoft joins the show to discuss various topics related to airsoft in the UK, including UKARA registration, import laws, power limits, age restrictions, protection of playing spaces, public perception, HPA systems, elitism, unfair advantages, aesthetic and functional impact of HPA tanks, segregation of HPA users, and regulation of HPA guns.
Takeaways
- UKARA registration in the UK serves as a defense to purchase replica imitation firearms and ensures safety.
Import laws in the UK can make it more difficult and expensive to obtain certain airsoft equipment.
- Power limits in the UK are set to balance range and safety in both outdoor and CQB environments.
- Age restrictions in the UK allow younger players to participate in airsoft with appropriate safety measures.
- The airsoft community should work to address negative public perception and promote understanding of the sport.
- HPA systems can provide advantages in terms of performance, but they can be outplayed with strategy and teamwork.
- HPA tanks can impact the aesthetic of loadouts, but functionality can be maintained with proper configuration.
- Segregating HPA users from non-HPA games may not be necessary, as all players should be allowed to play with their chosen equipment.
- More regulation may be needed to ensure the safe and responsible use of HPA guns.

Good insights. 😊
Thanks man
Love to av a go at this even at 54
Do it. There are lots of fields around and the community is very welcoming.
There are i think valid reasons for an MED for weapons of say 2.23joules in the UK. If MEDs were scrapped for example then eyewear of BS EN166F may not provide adequate protection. An MED is a form of control measure in relevant circumstances. Just a thought.
Yeah med over 2J is fine. But MED with 1J is dumb.
Yes definitely agree, the only MED I encountered was for DMR and Bolt action due to higher energy.
The only MEDs I have seen in the UK has been for DMRs and Snjpers. Running in excess of 1.5Joules. Most sites have no MED for standard Airsoft platforms. 1.14Joules is the most common. No MEDs usually.
I agree though, an MED for 1Joule is a tad nonsensical.
CQB in uk is so intense sometimes savage, definitely not the best for new players 😂
Yeah, that's what it sounds like. Tokyo is the opposite
In one place I play you get removed from the game for taking your eye pro off in a game zone
Yeah, that should be a rule everywhere
❤❤❤
Thanks man
Let rec podcast about airsoft in Central Asia?)
Do you have someone in mind?
@@defroweairsoft yes. I am local community leader)
Real steel grip? I have a 3d printed one for about 50p 😂
Yeah, but do you have the bragging rights?
@@defroweairsoft sure, I get people asking me where I got it from and I can brag about 3D printing 😂
you need to stop interviewing people who have no clue about the hobby
I try it keep the interviews open to everyone. Everyone brings a different perspective.
I can go buy 4 or 5 differnt glocks in 4.5mm or pellet and only get asked to prove my age. The rules are joke. Dont make any sense at all
Are these co2 pistols?
@@defroweairsoft yes mate
