    Bless, i needed this my unit is looking ROUGH
    UPDATE: I tried this method and it worked like a charm. My ends were really crunchy and thick, and immediately after boiling them they’re completely transformed. My wig literally looks better than when I first got her. Thanks so much for this helpful tutorial!

      But wouldn't the hot boiled water burn the synthetic wig? I'm scared of burning it

      Kitty Antix not if it’s heat safe. Remember water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit.

    I've recently shaved off all my hair and I'm new to wigs. This just saved my life, I was so worried that I'll have to throw out so much money on wigs just to hide my baldness. Did this method yesterday and oh my God my hair is so smooth and silky all over again. You're a lifesaver, thank you so much !

    I'm so glad to discover I'm not the only one who does this for my wig. Great vid! i'd also add that if you want it to smell really good and be exceptionally soft and bouncy, let the hair soak in a mix of fabric softener and hot water (especially if it is synthetic) then brush it out. Works wonders

    I swear this method works like a charm. I even add fabric softener when I soak my wig in the boiling water. Not only does it come out soft & beautiful, but it smells amazing.

    • @ChadneyB
      @ChadneyB  5 лет назад +5

      Ericka Ivory I’ve heard of the fabric softener. I’ll def have to try that

    • @evelynsanchez6898
      @evelynsanchez6898 5 лет назад

      Do you put the softener in the water ? Or wash it with the softener then boil

    • @erickaivory7996
      @erickaivory7996 5 лет назад +6

      Evelyn Sanchez After boiling the water I get a separate container to soak the wig in. I add the softener then water pretty much at the same time. I make sure to brush the softener in the wig then I let it sit for an hour. I drain that water and then add more boiling water & let that sit for another hour. Drain it. Brush it. I let it air dry overnight. Trust me, your wig is gonna have a beautiful soft shine & feel to it. Any fabric softener will work. Even the cheap brands.

    This totally works, although I air dried and ALSO used fabric softener! I started doing this after my synthetic lace fronts got raggety. I just did this yesterday, except I used about a cup of fabric softener as well. I just boiled the water and added it to wigs and fabric softener. I let mine sit for an hour. Then when u take them out u wanna add sone deep conditioner to help the wigs brush out smooth. I can't believe how well it worked this time! Just like in this video, my wigs came out if that hot water and fabric softener with ZERO SHEDDING! Shedding up to this point was my biggest complaint about synthetic wigs. I was considering buying another human hair wig, but now i've reconsidered and might just buy a couple synthetic lace fronts for fun!

    Hey just a random suggestion that has nothing to do with the wig: whenever you boil water (or cook) always keep the pot handle pointed toward the side of the stove nearest your dominant hand (not sticking out at you) so its less likely to flip over or burn you if you mistakenly bump into it. sorry Im an RN Im always spotting safety stuff 😂) great video btw sis Im gonna try this on my favorite old synthetic wig 💃

      I had the synthetic wig wearing it daily for almost 2 months. If you look at my original review on this wig you'd see the difference. Synthetic wigs get thick and stiff extremely fast, some in a few days and some in a month or so. This wig ran its course and I could tell a difference. Maybe it doesn't show up well on camera but it was a MOP! lol

    • @ChadneyB
      @ChadneyB  4 года назад

      As for anything there will be conflicting conversation everywhere about all topics unfortunately. I only know from experience trial and error you know. Boiling for 60 secs and rinsing with cold water keeps it from getting stiff but as far as heating tools I don't even go there because the fibers in those wigs are not built for it. its so strange to me

    • @ChadneyB
      @ChadneyB  3 года назад +1

      If it’s a synthetic wig it’s bound to tangle sooner or later, especially the longer it is so it won’t keep it from tangling but it will help de tangle it very well and bring it back to life once it has started to get worn out. Every type of hair synthetic or human tangles in some way unfortunately but some less than others. Hope it helps ❤️ good luck

      Raechelle Bennett yes me too, im wondering if i have a great beautiful curly wig and do this and comb it trew wont the curla disapear on me?🤔 Love these wigs due to their so afforable but when i boil em down to 1 lump of plastique its not worth the hassle.How do we know what wigs we can do this method on?☺ Greetings from The Netherlands

      You can’t do it on non-heat resistant. Maybe you could try steaming those? Never tried myself, but I think it would work. Boiling a non-heat resistant wig will leave you with one big clump.

    Can you just boil the ends? I’ve washed mine twice in a month already and I don’t wanna keep doing that the ends are thick and frizzy

      Cass G yes you can just throw it in the pot.

    Would the boiling hot water melt the synthetic strands though??

    • @ChadneyB
      @ChadneyB  6 лет назад +2

      Kitty Antix no it won’t melt it if you’re only keeping the wig in there shortly. If you dip it in and out of the pot like you see in the video you’ll be fine

      Sandra Lapinski McLaughlin the type of brush you use is key. It’s also important knowing how much to brush

    Why is the water running from the tap continuously?
    That is soooo wrong.
    It is not the first time that I come across tutorials from the US with people wasting water that way😥

    • @christinacharles3283
      @christinacharles3283 6 лет назад +13

      Media Connexion we normally use a lot more water than other countries so it’s normal to see that in the USA

    • @Relrellz

      Media Connexion smt they pay their water bills so myob.

    • @lkjonez13
      @lkjonez13 6 лет назад +2

      You'll see it in the US constantly. Some of us try to save water. I turn off the tap when I'm brushing my teeth, washing dishes, washing my face, etc. but we grew up like that. Ya'll grow up with limited resources and HORRIBLE electricity. We love visiting abroad but also can't wait to come home to our AMAZING electric & water resources, wider roads, etc. We also pay the bills for everything we have as well. If we don't, then we get no water, which plenty of Americans also don't do & they suffer. In Michigan they're getting their homes taken away. Families are thrown out into the street just for owing on their water bill which is absurd because in Flint, Michigan the water is undrinkable & unfit for bathing or any kind of use period. But they're getting their homes literally snatched for not paying for water they can't even use because it's making them severely ill. So, you do what you've been raised accustom to

    how long do you boil it for ?

    • @ChadneyB
      @ChadneyB  3 года назад

      You just dip it in the water as it’s boiling for about 60 secs or until you see them loosen up, the hair fibers don’t need much. You don’t want to burn or melt it if it’s synthetic.

      Kyleah Ayeti it lasts until your wig gets tangled...that's the answer. What other answer were you looking for?

    • @kyleahayeti9302
      @kyleahayeti9302 6 лет назад +1

      Tiara Jones so, if you’re a person who’s active everyday, it’s gonna get tangled everyday. Are you gonna boil the wig everyday? No. The answer I was looking fo was Fabric Softner🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @tiarajones9969
      @tiarajones9969 6 лет назад +18

      Kyleah Ayeti okay, when it gets SEVERELY tangeled, brittle, and dry, then use that method again. Of course its gonna get tangeled everyday dont be stupid, just comb it
