@Brian Babin I’m more impressed by how damn cheap they keep getting, particularly the sd card storage. I prefer my nvidia shield but this is a great gift giver to give to someone like my dad not picky about having more power for shaders or more modern systems, and saves me work of having to put together all the roms, artwork and settings together.
When you first plug it in it's on, You go into the setting and hit system shut down to turn off, it takes a while.. to turn it on use the remote control and hit the red power button 2x turns the system back on. FYI for anyone who wants to know. LOL
CoolToy, Always glad to hear your thoughts on these. I myself bought one you showed, one that had an hdmi connection right on the device, like a PC stick. It ended up being crap, not your fault by any means. The games were so clunky to navigate, because of the sheer number, and many that I wanted to play wouldn't even boot. One of the wireless usb dongles was so cheaply made that it got stuck in the device and I had to pry it out with plyers, which made that port no longer function. It was a mess, but sometimes things just shake out that way. I wish a company would come out and not just deliver something that's essentially a rom dump with a high number attached. I know that's a bit much to ask since these companies don't own the licenses to these games and I guess karma got me for playing with the "Devil's Lettuce." But even if it wasn't the solution for me, I'll just say I'm glad there's all sorts of options out there :) vgv
if you're looking for a "rom dump" there are a few companies selling pro loaded usb hard drives. Loads of games on them and some are using the batocera front end, but if you just want to drag and drop the files from their hard drive to your device of choice thats certainly the way to go to obtain a massive amount of game files in one place quickly.
CoolToy, I think I mispoke. I actually am hoping for something better than just another "rom dump," like one of these companies putting out a smaller collection, maybe near 2 to 6 thousand games, but taking care to make sure each game runs well, configured correctly, and cataloging them in an easily searchable and accessible way. It's a big ask since these companies make a bunch of money with little effort and still sell them with no problem, so I don't see it happening. But I'd be tons more interested if a company did try to make a head to toe quality product. Thanks as always for taking the time to conversate! vgv
I always enjoy watching you play racing games. Absolutely no brakes used ever hahah. This actually seems like a really nice little system. Most of the emulation seems pretty smooth.
Yep that's how I play games, full throttle always. I don't defend in fighting games, I don't brake in racing games, and I always ford the river in Oregon Trail! lol
Great review. Thanks for sharing. I’m buying one. I bought the talking Tom last year for my sons birthday after you did a video on it. You get the coolest stuff to review and things I’ve never heard of. I appreciate all the work that you put into all of the videos. Thanks Doug!
Not all of the games are plug and play -- if you're not comfortable tweaking the emulation settings, this probably isn't for you. The X King is the most powerful, and plays up to PSP pretty well.
Nice video! I am just hoping their next version can play more games without specially change setting here n there in general. Then it will be truly the perfect/dream emulation beast with all the games in it.
It will be almost impossible since if you understand the basics of game developing every console runs different hardware with different root game settings. If such device was to exist and run everything really smooth it will be probably cost a ton of money. This devices are meant for like old school games specially anything before nintendo 64, anything after that will probably be a hit and miss. I ordered mine and waiting for it but I mostly want to play my old favorite Super NIntendo games and NES games anything else if it doesn't work I am ok with that. :)
I do have a Modded Xbox Original with over 8,000 Games but I want this one as well since my M.X.O. doesn’t have the Sega Genesis Games on it. Kinda wanted to try them out while kicking back on the Couch.
Loved the review and was looking for something like this forever. Ordered one from Amazon!! Love the channel as always great job. Is there anything yet that you can plug a stick into the at games legends pinball without using a PC? How you can play extra games on the at games legends stand up unit. Thanks
It also seems like the system does not let you bump up the internal resolution on PlayStation games. I will check into that further. It seems like it should work.
The Playstation games on it are missing fmv. I am not certain if there is a problem with Retroarch not playing them or they removed the video content. I notice all the Playstation cores are not playing the fmv. I noticed Jammer Lammy and Parrapa the Rapper are playing video. So, odds are the fmv content is on there. Edit: I did check into it further and they did remove fmv content on a lot of the PlayStation games. So, that is a bummer. It looks like the other games are ok. It is possible to replace the PlayStation games, but you will have to copy the image to a larger SD card and get more space. I was hoping someone has a guide to do that.
Hey CoolToy, you are a total stud when it comes to this stuff. I’m so great full to you for posting these videos to show what is possible with these games. I did order the ArcadeBox and I was wondering, is it possible to put it into my mortal Kim at 2 legacy cabinet without changing the control deck? I’m sure there will be something still needed to be bought but if I could put that emulator in my cabinet with it’s stock controls would be awesome. I know the stock controls are terrible but my budget is very tight right now. Can you please tell us what we can do? Thank you again and please keep making videos, they are so interesting and exciting to see what you do🙏😉😎
you would need some USB zero delay encoders to connect your joysticks and buttons to the arcade box and then another adapter to convert your stock lvds arcade1up input monitor to allow it to accept an HDMI input. There are tons of videos on RUclips on how to set up a Raspberry Pi with an Arcade1Up device, you would follow those same steps for the most part. Obviously substituting the Raspberry Pi for the arcade box or whatever emulation device you choose to use.
Thank you so much, again. I really appreciate you. I really wish I knew what the hell I was doing lol. I have watched so, so many videos and still don’t have the basic knowledge that a lot of the videos must assume I would already know and leave out. For example: to install arcade box with stock controls on the mortal kombat legacy cabinet you need these (exact) parts from Amazon and this is exactly how you install it, lol. My god, what you’ve done with all your pinball tables, the Star Wars trilogy!!!!! (So awesome!!!!!) nfl blitz. Your just brilliant brother. I’m really not trying to kiss your butt, lol. It’s just true and you deserve all the credit in the world for share everything you can do!!! Thanks man. If you have any suggestions on where a guy like me can learn how to do these things from RUclips or whatever I would appreciate it but I know your busy. And I’m sure your saying, why would you want to play all those games with the crappie stock control deck lol
Another awesome review. Any idea if it saves high scores for arcade games and/or save states for long play games like super Mario world and bandicoot ?
Is this better than the Super Console X King. I wanna buy the best plug n play emulator but I'm old and very tech savvy. Is this the latest and greatest? Is this the one I want, or is there a better one? Thanks .
The X King is more powerful, but more expensive. Probably depends on what you want to play. If you want N64, Saturn, and PSP I'd go X King. Otherwise you're fine with this, or the even cheaper Super Console X.
Actually had to return my Super Console X today due the system continuing to crash 3 minutes into every game (or it would go to a random menu). I might check this one out.
Only thing holding me back in a purchase is that I noticed Tony Hawk did not have music. I am not looking to load up my own stuff so I am hoping to get the PS 1 games that have the music included on the rom. What are your thoughts?

Oh also, do you have to set up the controller for N64, and change it for SNES? Could you buy the N64 controllers and have both plugged in or would you still have to change the controllers. I am very bad at it and set my menu button to nothing on accident on a different system and couldn't get to a menu to change the controller setting. So I am a bit controller setting shy.

Becareful changing your settings! I had the earlier version, super console x, and I changed the setting to download (???) on startup and it caused it to go in a bootloop error. I never was able to fix it. So I tossed it out and now I play on ps5. 💭🤘😒
I'm not good at setting up and I can't find anything to go on to learn how to make n64 games run better cuz most of the games I like have bad issues running like zelda ocarina of time and resident evil 2 for n64. And resident evil 2sucks for ps1 version cuz it's not in English and it doesn't tell you that and resident evil 3 as well
Yes there were some twisted metal games on my device. Adding roms is as simple as dragging and dropping the rom files into the designated emulator games folder
Whenever I play an arcade game on this thing when I hit the B button a Master Vol icon appears on the screen its super distracting don't suppose anyone knows how to get rid of that?
Wondering if someone could help me. I got the Super Console X 3 Plus a few days ago and it keeps turning itself on every 2 hours or so. I'm doing a system shutdown, but it keeps turning back on. Is anyone else having this problem?

Please let us know exactly what emulators you use for each system, it would help a lot. For example with Dreamcast and Naomi, are you using lr-redream or lr-flycast?
You can change emulators in the settings menus as well as add your own emulators to the system. So if it doesn’t have your preferred emulator it’s an easy fix to add. By default games are using flycast
@@cooltoy That is good news as i have been wanting to replace my dying original xbox which i modded many many moons ago and added coinop and visonary mame collections, but now is about to give up the ghost, so i have been looking at these retro consoles but was worried about the cheap sd cards tgey use in them, but now i can replace them with a goid brand name one i will be grabbing one of these sion....so thank you for the info. :-)
@@JustMe99999 alright, I have my own emulation PC, but two thirds the games I've downloaded my anti virus finds some kind of malware. I just bought one and it doesnt work. I tell people dont buy this thing it doesnt have a power button to turn the thing on, plus I hook it up and I get no screen
Just received mine. Can you play these games after hook up to tv or do you have to download them? I am very confused with the extra sim card in the box. Please help thank you.

Does it come with TurboGraphx-16 games?
Does this product plays Alundra for ps1??
Do these games come on a sd card and can that card be backed up in case of failure, so you can simply add the games to a new sd card if needed?
Yes
@@cooltoy That is good news as i have been wanting to replace my dying original xbox which i modded many many moons ago and added coinop and visonary mame collections, but now is about to give up the ghost, so i have been looking at these retro consoles but was worried about the cheap sd cards tgey use in them, but now i can replace them with a goid brand name one i will be grabbing one of these sion....so thank you for the info. :-)
Does ps have ncaa game breakers football on it??
Does it by any chance have a audio out. Want to put in arcade 1up cab with mp3 speakers?
Yes, that’s what the 3.5mm jack is for
Why the PS1 games have no music?
Can you pull the games off the SD card and transfer it to my PC SSD drive?
Yep you could do that, it would be just a simple drag and drop of the files
@@cooltoy Thanks! I'm certainly interested
@@hababacon If you just want the ROMs they sell drives with the ROMs on them and no box.
@@JustMe99999 alright, I have my own emulation PC, but two thirds the games I've downloaded my anti virus finds some kind of malware. Dreamcast roms seems fairly decent but N64, GameCube, PS2 games seem to use extra crap included. I just stopped trying, but if can just buy the HD that is the better route to go.
I just bought one and it doesnt work. I tell people dont buy this thing it doesnt have a power button to turn the thing on, plus I hook it up and I get no screen
Sounds like you need to reach out to the vendor/manufacturer you bought it from and tell them
@@cooltoy Yea I did and if I would have known it didnt have a turn on button, I wouldn't have bought it lol
How does it power on? Does it require a button or just plugged in? Asking because I may put it in an arcade 1up and it will be mounted in the back
Just plugs in
Thank you. Great video and content as usual.
How many Nintendo 64 games does it have?

How many Sega Saturn games????
hello, how is the android tv box part sir?

Does it have nhl 93 or 94 for sega
Just received mine. Can you play these games after hook up to tv or do you have to download them? I am very confused with the extra sim card in the box. Please help thank you.
The extra sim card is only used if you wish to run the android OS on the device.
