Azerbaijan is like that one student you didn’t expect to do so well in the beginning but then they got overconfident and starting developing bad habits.
Well last year, Azerbaijan tried entering a a 1960s style British rock ‘n’ roll song; similar to what The Beatles, Marmalade and The Dave Clark Five used to produce, but with rap thrown in for good measure. The Eurovision 2023 song I'm referring to is “Tell Me More” by TuralTuranX. Look what happened to that; it failed to qualify for the final.
It’s sad to see Azerbaijan do badly recently. They used to be one of the best. They need to revamp everything and start fresh. Though, they did deserve to qualify this year💔such wonderful voices
Why withdraw after just 2 DNQs? The Netherlands had 8 conecutive DNQs 2005 to 2012 inclusive, but still came back in 2013, and made it to the final with "Birds". Georgia, Latvia and Ireland failed to qualify for several consecutive years each, but they all kept going and finally they all made it to the final this year.
Well 2022 was kinda underrated but Imo deserved. Be happy he qualified and could give bit higher place than mata hari which was soo robbed. 😮 2014-2015 were surprised qualifiers both could've been failed for qualify. Especially 2015. 😭 2016 was okay year.

2017 was a masterpiece in each aspect! 2013, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2024 are cool. 2009 and 2022 were not bad. Hope to hear more ethnic entries from them.
Our song this year is pretty good for an Azerbaijani. But we need to understand this, we must send songs that Europe will like, not for ourselves.If we continue to adapt it to ourselves, we will see the last place next year.

Azerbaijan is a strong country but I feel like a lot of their songs were very generic, Swedish-sounding pop songs. I love how they finally embraced their language in 2024 and sent a more Azerbaijani entry. Hopefully they continue this trend and do better next year.

I am sorry to see how Azerbaijan, a country that in the late 2000s and until the mid-2010s really knew what Eurovision was and was considered one of the professionals, is now sharply surrendering its positions with the exception of 2015, 2019 and 2021 with more worthy songs. I really like the songs from 2012 and 2013, which (in my opinion) are many times better than "Running Scared". Why didn't the country win with songs like these? I wish that Azerbaijan will radically change its method of choosing songs to return to the final and prove the worth of its songs.
I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but this year's entry Özünlə apar was one of the best songs that Azerbaijan has sent, and it's a shame that the results have nothing to show for it. It's pretty close to Always in being my favorite Azerbaijani entry, and I also really like Drip Drop, When the music dies, Hold Me and Truth. I really wish Azerbaijan can get back to their glory days sometime soon.

I loved the Azeri entry this year and the language was very good but in my opinon that staging to me was good awful and ruined it for me plus I didn't like Fahree's vocals that night
The last good result from Azerbaijan was from 2019. But everything turned badly for Azerbaijan in 2021 cause they were 20th place.
