interesting choices of food, I also took surprise by the uncommon recommedations! However the bakuteh doesn't look Malaysian enough.... please do another justice on klang bakuteh next time hopefully if you coming KL again ^^
Sate Kajang Hj Samuri - really good satay chain... just had a bunch today! Restoran Meng Kee Char Siew - another really good char siew spot, used to also be st Jln Alor but that branch has closed for a decade or two. the crunch of the caramelized crust, thick black sticky marinade the the perfect 1/3 fat, 2/3 meat ratio... for BKT I'm sorry but u have to travel to klang for that... Hot Bird Damansara Uptown. is super popular for their fried chicken, super long queues, supposedly good... ive not tried due to insane queues.

Malaysia has good quality food but they're far apart. If you're short on time, Singapore is the better choice due to its small size. Above average food from anywhere in the world can be found and reached within minutes. Not to mention hawker centers where you could find and taste almost everything in one spot. Oh, and if you have a weak stomach then Singapore is definitely the better choice for food 😉
The wife and I are going back to Malaysia this October. We are addicted...not only to Malaysian food, but to Malaysia as a whole. In fact, we plan to move there when we retire, but I digress... If you have any insights or insider tips about authentic Malaysian food, please share. We'll be out there, adventuring and exploring, but it would be nice to have some points of reference, and must-visit places. Thanks.
I am Indonesian and go to SG and KL often for work. I don't crave anything when I go to Singapore, but I crave almost everything my KL colleagues have brought me to eat. KL food is underrated if you know where to look.
so did u try the top 10 hawker centres at least? KL food places are not conveniently located close to each other. i travel half an hour just to try one dish. aint no way.
theres a ramly burger near the satay stall there. before they made the food court style area, the satay was sold at the parking lot opposite the burger joint. that area righht there back in dec 2022, was the best food ive ever eaten in my life
@@SSxxx18 singapore chinese majority. We dont eat nasi lemak that much. Go to every hawker centre. Its Bar chor mee and chicken rice. nasi lemak most of the time no one eat.
Hi @Alderic for me the sugar in the Singapore or Malaysian Satay is a deal breaker. Have you tried Satay Marangi from Indonesia. Umami bomb. No sugar, Only savoury.
wanna try JB? in my opinion, the best nasi lemak berlauk (slightly diff style of the ordinary one) & best satay. What else? the best hakka thunder rice & the best yong tau fu...
For satay perhaps u can consider Bali Nice in Khatib. Pretty close to the best carrot cake in Singapore. For char siew 88 Hong Kong Roast, pretty expensive though. Are you a persona 5 fan? (referencing the life will change music at the end)
