I'm Singaporean and found this channel when I was looking out for steakhouses in SG, really enjoying all the content so far and it's so educational, especially with the culinary side of things! Hoping the channel grows more so the RUclips money can sponsor more food 🤣

curious tho, would u ever consider u can get inexpensive nasi lemak which is good? like from a hawker centre or coffeeshop, eg Epok Epok Central in Eunos Market. Would be interested if you have a similar intro
I'm so surprised by how detailed his reviews are. I pressed into this video because I will be going to Singapore soon and wanted to know if there are any places that locals would recommend. I was genuinely surprised by how descriptive and well thought out his reviews are. I usually find it hard to finish watching a long food video but it was so interesting that I didn't stop watching! Amazing work Alderic! I'm definitely subscribing for more content❤

i am from hong kong and going to visit Singapore soon . am glad that i found your channel ! you are funny and your content is informative. i will try to go .
Chili crab with mantou still have to recommend la, I don't think mantou paired well with salted egg crab. The crispy prata at Sin Ming worth to recommend also. Carrot cake deserved a local recommendation. Tutu kueh can recommend too.
Alright, head to Singapore in the next few wks, will try your recommendations. Seem like legit since all the places are way off the central area. Thanks!
Just stumbled upon your channel. Your commentary comes across as absolutely authentic and honest. I'm a fan already. (As a European I have to admit: I'm one of THOSE people who cannot stomach the sound of noodle-slurping. But your vids are worth that bit of pain. 😁)

Haven't heard of these outlets. Chicken rice is kind of different, ground peanut toppings. Usually just a dressing of sauce. Like to try the greyland hokkien mee looks good.
Thanks for the recommendations. I'll be visiting Singapore next month! The singapore chili crab hype for tourists is on point.😂 would def try salted egg crab😋
I live near the oyster omelette place, like can go everyday kind and i like it as a fried egg lover. My dad who we usually give the oyster to don't like it though.
Great video! You're one of the most underrated local RUclipsrs. To add on to this "Singaporean's recommendation", how about reviewing the usual food that tourist eat in Singapore? Find out if they are really worth the try haha.
regarding the Katong chicken rice, they used serve the other type of achar (you know the one in the spicy sauce with peanut and sesame toppings). I don't like the current type of achar which just pickled vegetables... i remember the chicken rice to be much better before they revamped the stall. i wasn't impressed by this stall the last time i had it around 2 years ago. anyway, you're spot on about the double mcspicy burger. even Mike Chen said it's the best fried chicken burger in the world.
I agree with you.. since i think 2022... the standard have dropped drastically.. .. i used to go once a week.. but now.. i dont even bother... too crowded and quality is ... really down .. compared to ... 2-3 years ago... is .. not worth the trip or waiting time anymore..
idk why but these sorta videos come up in my yt feed at 12am 😞 btw it'd be nice if you'd review more malay and/or indian food in SG! pretty curious about your take on such dishes
omg pls do a wonton mee series ! gonna be super interesting like how to review which is the best cos can be a lot of factors e.g. noodles, sauce, meat, soup, wonton, like do u focus a lot on meat or the noodles since it is called wonton mee.... , do u even consider chilli in the equation...
Google Koung Wonton mee, they just moved to geylang east centre. Old folks will tell you they helm as one of the legends in terms of Wonton mee in Geylang back in the 90s (maybe 80s too?)
I'm coming to Singapore next month (yippee!!!) can't wait to try all your recommendations. Can I ask - how do you actually get into Lai fa Ba authentic noodles? You said it was deep in an estate - where actually is the entrance? I can't make it out on street view or anything... Thanks so much for any help! X
on the street view, there's a building called "Prestige Building", number 71 iirc. just walk past the gantry and it should be on your far left, about 60 meters from the gantry.
almost about to throw hands when you said us locals dont care for chilli crabs, butttttttt 100% agree that black pepper crabs are wayyyyyy better. still have yet to find a fantastic chilli crab though. definitely want to try that zichar store tho, looks good!
If U ever do a wanton mee series, pls note there are a few types, the black sauce one, red sauce one, the no color only oil type one.. must state clear cos each type has a realm of their own. Cant wait.

It's like u review chicken rice but didn't say anything abt the chicken. This brings me to another point if wanton mee wanton not nice, is it considered good wanton mee?
Sorry to say, you'll likely face a 30 percent increase in price for the same portion, except horrible quality rice. if you dont mind smaller cut of chicken but arguably same quality white chicken at a much cheaper price - Zeng Ji Hainanese boneless chicken Rice. I will agree that Katong chicken rice was THE BEST. probably started to decline about 5 years ago or so.
Epok Epok central in eunos for one of the better yet cheaper nasi lemak. To claim coconut club is good yet not overprice is a bloody joke. U wanna pay more, Dickson Nasi Lemak.
Good choices dude! But I concur that you should have included Indian/ Malay options esp since your aim is to highlight top dishes in Sg and Sg is uniquely multi- cultural. One might think we’re a Chinese country from your options 😅

Love your video! Is there a standout dish you'd recommend at Keng eng Lee seafood? :)
definitely the pork liver if you're up to it. If not the coffee ribs are also great.

Why you gotta bully us. Its 11pm and the next meal that we can visit these places is like in 12 hours time. But im hungry rn :(
Heading to Singa in Sept and don't want to eat where the tourists go so your video has been fantastic. Will go to all 5 with the family.
Thank you for your tips, Alderic🙏🏼
Cheers from Bangkok
I appreciate the good sound work. That alone puts it above many many many other channels.
I just tried the wanton mee, it’s really 完美!
Try the chicken rice without the achar, and the soup, and then reconsider whether you recommend it as a top choice for chicken rice.
Chicken rice standard dropped ALOT. especially with the overly inflated price. did u try their rice now? Its horrible.
thanks for the vid. I am heading there in 2 days and litteraly spending 2 days so this is a great reference for me!

Har.. I love chili crab 🦀 leh.. it’s my favourite.. the gravy is good and the must have mantous n I’m a Singaporean 🇸🇬❤️❤️
Nice recommendations. Are there places that serve the chilli crab sauce and mantou buns only? Not a fan of the Crab, but love the sauce. :)

Hi try KEK coffee pork ribs, salted egg steamed or fried crab.

Now tian tian got copy cat nearby, but it's actually original chef from tian Tian,.so u must try both
All pretty good recommendations although I haven’t tried the wanton mee. On zi char though, I’d hand it to Kok Sen
Agree with your recommendations 100%. Could easily expand to many more if include other local non-Chinese fav cuisines which tourists miss out on too.
I recently found out a gd chili crab in omote thomson branch. And the best part is u dont hv to deal with any shells.

Your review of our iconic dish, Hainanese Chicken Rice, made no mention whatsoever of the rice!!.
I’ve tried the katong shopping centre chicken rice but personally it’s not something I’ll go often. It’s good. But I won’t say it’s the best.
same here...not worth the hassle to go all the way there, queue and wait.
Truth man regarding the "Crab" too mafan ... rather have something cooked with those sauce, easier to enjoy and no need special equipment.
