Ming Kee Chicken Rice- Bugis Street / 明记鸡饭 (白沙浮)at Kim San Leng Blk 511 Bishan St 13. See: Ming Kee Chicken Rice: Chilled chicken rice at one of SG’s oldest CR stalls in Bishan👍👍💚💚🧡🧡👍👍
Top 3 for me: 1. Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice - Goldenmile Food Centre 2. Katong Mei Wei - Katong Shopping Centre 3. Zi Jin Cheng Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice - Alexandra Food Village
we actually planned go to Golden Mile too but the owner fell sick that day so they informed us they closed the stall, and we had to drop it from our schedule last minute :( would've loved to try it out!
Bugis Street Chuen Chuen Chicken Rice Located at the Hawkerr Center Beside Boon Tong Kee. They originated from Long House Hawker Center which started off at Jalan Bersah Statdium.
Super underrated. It is my family's favourite. For me, my personal favourite is Bishan Kim San Leng's Bugis St Ming Kee Chicken Rice BUT the standard of their chicken rice admittedly isn't as consistently good as before. But on the good days, it's just perfect.
Wow!! I’ve eaten at the Toa Payoh chicken rice since I was a kid and my parents always said it’s the best chicken rice in SG but no one knows abt it. Glad it’s being showcased!!
I’m so happy to see that Annette’s choice is also the same place I always go to for Chicken Rice. I can eat there for lunch everyday if I wanted to, I love it. To me it was always the best Chicken Rice in Singapore people didn’t know about so I love the fact that you guys are showcasing them! 😊
Try: 1. Loy Kee in Whampoa Market - 91 Whampoa Dr, #01-49/50, Singapore 320091 2. 5 Star Chicken Rice in Katong - 191 E Coast Rd, Singapore 428897 For 3 - 5 below, you need to try all at a go to compare. 3. Sin Kee Margaret Drive Chicken Rice - 6 Holland Cl, #01-36 Block 6, Singapore 271006 4. Margaret Drive Chicken Rice - 40 Holland Dr, Singapore 270040 5. Sin Kee Margaret Drive Chicken Rice - 159 Mei Ling St, #02-22, Singapore 140159 (Chilli very good)
Sin Kee is my parents all time favorite and when I was young I love to just eat the fragrant rice 🍚 and oyster sauce vegetables only cos I don't eat chicken 🐔 😆
Agree that Fu Xiang's roasted chicken tastes very fragrant, probably the most fragrant I've tasted. But their white chicken is overcooked. Another BIG BUT is that the stall uses poor quality chicken which is fatty under the skin (maybe this is why the roasted chicken is fragrant). The chilli is definite factory supplied because there are other chicken rice stall with chilli that tastes exactly the same. One such stall using the same chili supplier is Jin Mao Chicken Rice at Blk 628 AMK. You might like to try Jin Mao because both their roasted and white chicken are equally tender and good - one of the rare stalls that does both equally well. And the stall uses good quality chicken that does not have the layer of fats under the skin.
Hi Annette, I'm Tommy from Toronto Canada! I got to know you from Zermatt's videos and since you guys started aod, each video is better than the last plus I enjoy the fun you two have! This video is one of my favorites because it just focuses on chicken rice. Thank you and I look forward to seeing the next video.
I am a hainanese, and i felt the key to a good chicken rice is the sauce for the chicken: i do not think alot of chicken rice stall can get the sauce right these days. I must say katong chicken rice as a chicken rice does not cut it, its essence is the soup and achar!
This is my first video stumbled on Annette Lee, and since no one seems to point that out, I'm gonna do it myself What a super cute yellow trash can earring that you use, it compliment the skin complexity (Positive thinking joke, don't take it too seriously)
Another hidden gem I wanna recommend & my personal fav is Sinn Ji Hainanese Chicken Rice at Novena Gardens! The quality of the rice, chicken, sauces, tofu and chicken cutlet are all amazing there :) Also I didn't know there's such a hidden gem at Toa Payoh Central, now I have to go try it!
Please try the chicken rice stalls mentioned below: Jew Kit Chicken Rice at 273 Bukit Batok East Ave 4 Tong Fong Fatt Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice at Albert Centre
loy kee chicken rice- top on my list. their chicken rice is very fragrant & yet dont give you the wet oily feeling. dont feel thirsty after eating their rice. their roasted chicken my fav.
Best chicken rice 1. Tender succulent oily chicken with skin 2. Hot 粒粒分明flavor full rice 3. Packs a punch chili 4. Dark sauce 5. Hot savory light soup 6. Chinese coriander
Toa payoh chicken rice is definitely comforting and has that classic chicken rice flavour. Not the best out there imo but I am biased to classics so do go and try 👍
My childhood favourite: Bao Mei Boneless Chicken Rice @ Dover, cheap at $3, love roasted meat, and they still serve with soup. West: Sin Kee Famous Chicken Rice @ Holland Village, ex Michelin bib gourmand. Love the rice. Maxwell: Ah Tai Chicken Rice.
U guys should try San Xi Chicken Rice at #01-53, Bendemeer Market & Hawker Centre at Blk 29, Bendemeer Road. U guys will like it. Please go at non peak hours as their queue is very long during peak hours. Please try n let me know of what u think.
ah boy chicken rice... i think it is the best in the west of Singapore. I am glad that you skip the whole Maxwell chicken rice thing. And anyway, I think I try most of them. Can't remember whether i try Loy Kee before. But definitey not the Toa Payoh one, definitely will make time to try it one day
so i know this is a weird disclaimer but since i recommended it: you HAVE to eat the tpy one at the stall haha. it doesn't hit the same at all when dabao-ed 😂
@@AnnetteLeeMusic a good chicken rice is one that taste good eat at stall or dabao ,or even put in fridge for a night , too bad i cant find that store , used to be in jalan besar kopitiam near the dim sum shophouse , wah this tpy i eat before leh , dapao , no lasting impression at al , lol
The Katong one standard drop already la, I think the original chef/cook retired or something. Never see him already. Last time it was damn good, the rice extra fragrant, chicken damn shiok and not very expensive. Now sibei ex.
Yah lah. It's terrible. If you randomly just go dabao, you'll be surprised when you open up and find it full of bones and skin with little flesh.. contrary to being boneless it's just all "social media" reviews.
You guys should try Twelve Hainanese Chicken Rice at Jalan Kukoh Food Centre. Rice very fragrant, chicken very tasty and the chilli really packs a punch. Must try!!!
the roasted chicken is the real highlight for fu xiang chicken rice. the chicken skin is crispy and meat is so flavourful and fragrant. now this gem is no longer hidden:/
my fav chicken rice stall is also Annette's recommendation :D I've first ate there during my secondary school days xD im going to try Loy Kee soon :D :D. the one in Katong Shopping center also one of my top chicken rice stall
there's another my fav which is at Kallang Bahru hawker center, can't remember the name but it's at a corner and there's a UOB stand alone ATM super near the stall
Actually, the steam chicken from the Tiong bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice is much better than the roasted one. For roasted chicken rice, there is another stall in the same hawker centre that is better..
Coincidentally, I have tasted all of the above 5 stalls before. My priority is the taste of the rice n not the chicken, so I would ranked Tiong Bahru last. If price is taken into consideration, then Loy Kee will be ranked last cos their price point is double of the rest.
Please check it out the Kuching's 'ALADDIN Chicken Rice ' (Located at carpenter street / china town) for both roasted and steam white chicken. It might be your TOP 3 in your list tho! For me is TOP 1 till the MAX tho!!! Heaven level :) (Kuching is the capital city of Sarawak state, East Malaysia.)
Yes,... loy kee at balestier is dam good (and most elegant tasting in my opinion). and their WHITE/STEAMED chicken is better (even though i typically favor roasted). no wonder anette who had the steamed chicken at loy kee gave a higher rating
right?? i can't wait to go back hha. and actually zermatt's personal fav was a quite a close call with loy kee for me too, it was just the chilli that tipped me over (+ the ambience which i know has nothing to do with taste but i couldn't completely ignore it🤣)

But their chilli is watery and disappointing
Better than last time already @@belindalee2156
Thank you for making this ! I was really looking for other stores other than TT or … .. thank you for the hard work and research ..
You guys gotta do a Part 2! My personal favorite is 925 Yishun Hainanese Chicken Rice!
They hv one near JCube coffee shop hopefully it’s still there.
Yes been to both ❤

@@lyndaheng-ferretti751bedok too
Yes, Mr Elfblade….. am also surprised cos Boon Tong Kee is my all~time favourite 😋

The one at Golden Mile is my fav actually. But sadly the owner wasn't feeling well that day 😢
The son of the golden mile stall started his own chicken rice stall at china square food court!
I wish I have a chance to have Annette sitting close next to me enjoying food together.
She is much more tender than all the chickens!

number 5 is super famous for their steam chicken right? many OG's favourite
not sure if number 3 used to be at tanglin halt hawker? roasted chicken very nice, famous for the intestines too i think
