半岛铁盒 is the greatest Jay Chou song of all-time. It has all the best aspects of Jay Chou: ✅Signature R&B/ mandopop ballad ✅Ultra-cryptic higher-chinese lyrics by 方文山 ✅咬字不清 singing only Jay Chou can pull off
I splurged on TungLok Peking Duck late last year. Very auntyly I asked if the whole duck will be prepared for us to consume and the answer was affirmative. Crispy skin, meat and bones, plus many types of condiments to go with different aspects of the duck. At that moment I wished I was rich enough to go there regularly 🥰
Yes, you’re totally right when you mentioned the FBKT has MSG. I had it some time back, I’m sensitive to MSG. Your descriptions of those food are very on point 👍
Nice video! I always like your detailed reviews, especially for people who like cooking but not professionals chefs. For bars, I think you can also check out: Shin Gi Tai Bar Kakure D.Bespoke Atlas, Jigger and Pony, Manhattan are all pretty well-known.
I had that exact same BKT at that outlet. I concur with your exact findings that the soup is just what the unsophisticated would brush it off as: Peppery, garlicky soup. 0 perkiness at all.
Yi looks very good, and I think the price looks reasonable too for occasions. Founder BKT must be famous for a reason, guess I have to try it myself one day as well, but it will probably suit my tastebuds 😂
Thanks for the intro, feel like trying Yi. I feel that a lot of sg style bkt leans heavily on the seasonings though. Suspect if you do a bkt series you might be spending most of it ranting about how much seasoning there is and lack of meaty depth there is. I personally love pepper so I ain't complaining. Give me a tender 龙骨 to gnaw on between gulps of peppery broth and I'm a happy camper
Founders can have its wall of fame but it’s standard has been watered down by the 2nd gen until it almost bankrupt at one point. song fah will be the best pepper based Teochew style bkt handsdown, the rich umami pork broth and the pepper is there to enhance its flavour not steal or conceal it.
Do that BKT series to re-affirm the fact that herbal style is the best. I’m joking but I love how Malaysia has the canto and Hokkien style vs the mostly Teochew style in SG. On the side note. You are right about the Peking duck, imperial treasure saved the duck and asked if we wanted it stir fried, than offered to pack it to go
Can't say founder's 猪脚 is the best but it's definitely a benchmark. Fail it and it's literally 猪脚, anything better should probably be the 主角 of the stall. I'd love a bkt series next too.. but just to be different from everyone bak chor mee let's go!
@ I went there last quarter of 2023. I am not a Bak Kut teh person in the sense that I would not regularly eat the dish. However in that last quarter I went there 3 times to try out all the dishes that I wanted to try on the menu and also to repeat some dishes. That is my fav in that when I want to have Bak Kut teh again I will think to go there.
Most of the famous BKT are damn overrated. Looking forward to see what you feature if you do the series :) my dark horse picks are Eunos MRT and Old Street. haters come at me

Kudos on the (early) Jay Chou-esque outfit. Pls keep wearing main-character-inspired outfits for the rest of the series!
I have like 3 colors in my wardrobe kek
@@Alderic. lol
did I hear FF9 music in the background Alderic? 7:55
no? (da1i v1llag3)
@@Alderic. ahh yes, Dali Village. that brings back memories..
careful Alderic, you're exposing your age by these music choices 🤣

Come on let’s do the Bah Kut Teh series with an overseas arc to Klang. Let’s go baby!
Alderic ordered Bak Kut Teh, but broke into “不懂你的黑色幽默..” after one sip. Tragic
爷爷泡的茶 口感味觉好阿
Thumbs up to a BKT series.
Please do a BKT series! doing locally against the ones in Klang Malaysia.
Babe wake up new video just dropped

cultured man with village of dali, the best FF
wo wo wo we don't want to start a 'best FF' fight here.

You gotta do a bkt series

@Alderic. i think from one of your past vids got u singing and playing piano to one of his songs 😂 would love to see the cover!
@@shadianooo no way you remember thattt haha
i've never had duck with the wraps before, i've only seen duck that comes with the buns and i love them so much 😎

Just an FYI that you can't bring your glasses up to the stage at Atlas, if you're not Jay Chou you can't do so! 😂
Wow! form vtubers to Mandopop(both that I like) , I wonder what’s next?
"Enough yapping" -- Can't help but think of a certain Baku nurse that just newly (re)debuted.
the Atlas would be my dream library/study room for a house 😎
Tbh founder bkt is not really nice imo
Wow! Just after his birthday and wedding anniversary?!
Looking at Jay, it's obvious that guy can really eat.
Is this the most expensive episode?
so far. the coming ones might also be around the same price point.
4min ago is crazy.
bak kut teh series, lets go!!
*edit, just read the comment section. everyone onboard the BKT series train.

There are more than 10 *Herbal* bak kut teh in Singapore
Be honest Alderic. How much in debt are you in now? 🤣
and it's only going to get worse.
For bak kut teh, my favourite for now is Jia Bin Klang Bak Kut Teh at 62 Rangoon Road.
Just ate there last week, wasn't super impressed though. But didn't get the dry version
@ I went there last quarter of 2023. I am not a Bak Kut teh person in the sense that I would not regularly eat the dish. If you need to stop gaslighting yourself about Bak Kut Teh, please go Joo Siah BKT at Jurong East. haha
Most of the famous BKT are damn overrated. Looking forward to see what you feature if you do the series :)
my dark horse picks are Eunos MRT and Old Street. haters come at me
Yes grew up eating Eunos mrt bkt, after trying all the famous ones then I realised actually the Eunos 1 is pretty dang good 😂
First ❤
shit going broke
If you do BKT you NEED to go down Klang. NEED.
Founder BKT TASTE SO BAD! 🤮 I tried it and never got back there anymore. 😅
Why not go simpler next week go follow some of our local personalities favourites like Ryan or zermat
How many places is that sir?? Can do endless food trails alr
I'm positioning this series more towards international personalities as sort of a tourism effort. maybe in another series!
Follow Zermatt?! You want Alderic die from overdose of food? 😂 jkjk
Some say Alderic looks abit like Jay Chou. (i think)
lol...hahahahah
thanks but I don't (bro you trying to get me killed )
