I had no idea that so much work was put into outfitting our vehicles (not your company, I work in a different location in the country). I always assumed that a "Police Interceptor" from Ford came with almost everything done. I didn't know that a company had to do such intense, hardcore work like stripping the car down to basically a shell and then custom installing everything. I am truly surprised by this. I will definitely appreciate our vehicles much more now. A big thank you to those who do this work---we put these vehicles through hell, and I have never had anything fail except roughly 20 or so years ago when the Vector light bars came out and the dumb decision was made to connect them to the user-unfriendly GE control box (combo PD radio and lights/siren control head). Those individual "pods" would turn themselves on all the time. It was especially bad when working patrol graveyard shift, and as we would be slowly driving "blacked out" through a neighborhood, out of nowhere one of the pods would turn itself on and rotate slowly one "click" at a time. Even if we powered off the GE control head, it would keep doing it. Naturally, we'd have to "down" the vehicle and leave it in the underground garage sitting there with one of the pods it up, slowly clicking it's way around and around. They were chronic in doing this! I was so glad when we switched to the low-profile clear/LED light bar. So much nicer!
May be more capable but reliability isn't even near what the pushrod v8 tohoe will ensue and still come out on top in the long run I would never buy an ex ppv explorer but I would all day buy an ex ppv tahoe and I've driven both as a mechanic the tahoe isn't far behind in top speed and acceleration only .5 seconds 0 to 60 behind the explorer
As with the Charger video - very interesting. A lot of work, but again done cleanly and thoroughly - great job. 👍🏼😊 Minor detail - considering how thorough everything is done, I would have expected the divider protecting the electronics in the back to be dark/black too, like the other dividers/walls. But of course, that the divider does its job is most important. Look forward to seeing the finished modding of the lawn mower to regulatory standards. 😄
Great video as always. I just wish there was a way to get that cage to move with the seat. The new SUV's are deceiving as far as room goes. You could mess around with the Crown Vic cages (not good for safety) but at least you could lower the seat back. Intersting to see how the bolt on. Thank you.
Nice work, I just want to learn how you build this so I can to reinstall the seat back to the original condition.to use the vehicle for non-police work👏
I'm not a huge fan of the split blue/red on the lightbar. Red on the driver and blue on the passenger side is more effective in my opinion. Also, I'd like to see in your next install video how the cencom wiring and programming works. Thanks for the video as always.
Nice professionally routed wiring with full functioning light, siren, radio systems. the unit requires high amp alternator with dual batteries to sustain the power requirements
It is great. I am 15 and plan on going into the fire department when i turn 18. It is good to know how to wire all of this stuff up. (I live in NY where we don't have strict laws about about the lights. Just that volunteer fire fighters have to run blue lights).

5Legacy78 With the Projector Head-Lights, using a conventional Head-Light Flasher Module is not something that can be done. Ford does offer a PPV Head-Light with a White/Amber LED Blinker Module that offers a high-output White Flash function.
Your Vic has been programmed for dark car mode. It used to be as easy as grounding a wire but for 05 and here newer you need to get into the ECM to change it.
Nice video. Getting ready to upfit my 2016 PI Ute for EMCOMM. It's awesome how much prewiring Ford has done. Should make it a snap. Just wish the upfitter guide was a little more informative.

Very nice set up you guys awesome job I was wondering what kind of speaker was used for the radios and where did he put it at,??????? AAAAAAAA++++++++++
I wish this vehicle would have been outfitted with the back window light bar as well as side truck warning lights. A back storage compartment would also have been nice. I prefer the single seat cage for extra space in the rear seating compartment for non criminal transport/ extra storage space for the officer. But I know that this specific vehicle was requested like this. Do you offer a multi level side protection on the setina push bumper as well for this model?
We offer 2 Setina fender wraps for the Ford Police Interceptor SUV. The PB6-VS: sirennet.com/store/product/setina-bodyguard-pb6-vs-suv-truck-fender-wrap and the PB8-VS: sirennet.com/store/product/setina-bodyguard-pb8-vs-suv-truck-fender-wrap
2 questions! What is the 'power tamer' and where can i find it? Also I see it looks like there was a breaker/cut-off switch on the back circuit board as well. Where can I find that?
SIRENNET..... Is it at all possible to put WHITE WIG WAG lights in the front too? I have found with mine (2016) that simply turning on the headlights makes the vehicle MUCH more visible, just FYI. I would also add that the small quarter sized LED lights that are usually installed do NOT work very well in daytime use.
Do you know how or where to connect the rear hatch LEDs so they only come on when the hatch is open on a 2017 ? the upfitters guide mentions a rear flasher relay but I don't think I have that option. I have the front grill/headlight solution wiring option only (option 66?). If you don't hook them up to turn on when the hatch is open you can see them inside the vehicle. Thanks, and good looking work you guys are doing!
Without the relay, we would suggest tying the lighting into the trigger that activates the OEM dome/cargo lights. Open the hatch, the dome light goes on and so do the warning lights. Close the hatch, the trigger shuts off as well as the warning lights.
SIRENNET Thanks, that is exactly what I did. I added a relay that triggered off the dome light and was powered thru the relay by the led power wire. I am checking for any delayed turn off of the dome light when the doors are opened. the sensor for the rear hatch is made into the latch mechanism and appears to be ground switched from low voltage.
Greetings! My question is the following, after a interceptor becomes a civilian car do you restore them to civilian format? And remove the rubber flooring and that ugly center light that looks like a circle? Like do you restore the gear shift from behind wheel to the center? I talking about a Taurus
+Cristianooportugal The Taurus and the Interceptor Sedan are 2 different Vehicles. The Interceptor Sedan comes with the Police Package rubber floor, on the steering column shifter, wheels, brakes and front end. When the PPV Sedan is taken out of service, it does not get dressed the same as a stock Taurus.

The Projector Headlights can not be flashed. They have a ballast based bulb system and it is not designed to click on & off. Most folks are substituting this with White LED grill Lights or Push-bumper mounted White LED light-heads.
SIRENNET Really? I thought that the Explorer has one bulb (9005) for both high beam and low beam and that when you activate the high beams, a little cover that blocks the top part of beam moves away.
BlazedGun That is correct, but the projector bulb as mentioned is not designed to be turned on/off (or faded as is typical wig-wag fashion). Mostly because they are designed to warm up and then turn on. As a solution, Ford offers the "Ready for the Road" package, as an upfit for the Interceptor model(s). This replaces the stock turn-signal with a dual functioning LED that flashes white for emergency use, but is also illuminated orange for turn signals, parking lights, etc. It also includes a Vertex LED in the outer edge of the headlight housing for intersection lighting. It is also worth noting that there has been a third party module created to flash the headlights, but many PDs have reverted back as a result of excessive blown bulbs.
It's not using a dual tone amplifier. You could go the route of a 295SDA1 siren & lighting controller or with a Cencom Carbide with it's dual-tone amp add-on option. Here's a link to the 295: sirennet.com/whelen-295sda1-dual-tone-remote-siren.html
