  • Carrowkeel is a neolithic hilltop passage tomb complex consisting of 14 passage cairns. The passage cairns are spread across a number of hills that form part of the Bricklieve Mountain range

    Went in 2009. Was up there for hours. Completely lost track of the time. Clambering in and out of the tombs. Amazing.

    have any bodies been found at these sligo Neolithic "cemeteries"?

      excavations in the early 1900s they found tools, pottery ,animal bones, cremated human remains.
