I purchased the Limited model 3 months ago and I am very happy with the car so far... Still learning about all the buttons. This car has plenty of power, I drive in ECO mode all the time, never needed to go to normal or sport mode. as far as the touch controls, you get use to them... You can touch and hold them and the will turn volume up or down fast... all in all the car is super fun to drive... I enjoy the lane departure radar control and the automatic cruise that follows the car ahead of you or turn on turn signal to pass and it will auto speed up to pass the slower car. I have been averaging over 42 MPG in both city and highway...
One question I have and no one has answered is does this vehicle have enough power to climb a steep mountain grade without having ro stay in slower lanes
I have a 2022 Limited, if you press and hold the "Mode" button on the steering wheel, it mutes/pauses the sound system no matter the source, including carplay. Quick way to get audio turned off/muted. Another push and hold and the sound resumes.
Thanks Nolan Happy New Year! I would go with the XLE w/$510 soft-tex package to get the power pass seat and ventilation as well as the standard 8" infotainment screen and traditional knobs for HVAC.
Bruh, this Ta-yota looks more like a Lexus than the NX you reviewed last week. If I was in the market, I would definitely consider this one. Looks very premium. Not too concern about the lack of fog lamps. It's really a lot of car even from the "base" model. Yep, she's a good one. So is the AWD on demand as in the Rav4 vectoring AWD system? You stated there's no front wheel drive option so that would mean a full time AWD? That will probably bump the mpg down a bit. Very good review on this one bruh thnx and, a happy new year to you and your family.
It sure does lol, pretty crazy. The AWD is purely electric. Front wheels can get power from the engine and electric motor but rear is only from an electric motor so there’s no traditional connection between the two. Thank ya sir and happy new year to you as well. I appreciate it! 😁👍
Your reviews are great. My number one thought. It rides like a big car. You wouldn’t know it’s a small car. I consider the panoramic sunroof a great option. Besides being practical, it’s a real wow factor.
Toyota needed the Venza to fill out its midsize SUV lineup. Without it the only midsize crossover Toyota offered in the US was the 3 row Highlander. Virtually every other mainstream automaker (except Mazda) offered two midsize CUVs, larger three row vehicles that range from about 195" to 204" in length and smaller models almost all of which range from 187" to 192" in length. (The VW Cross Sport is an exception at 195.5" long.) Nearly all of the latter (except the KIA Sorento) offer two rows of seats and that's the role of the Venza. (Although at almost 187" long its the shortest of any midsize crossover.) When Toyota decided to jump into the midsize two row category, though, they didn't offer a wholly different vehicle from their 3 row offering. (e.g. Edge vs Explorer, Sorento vs Telluride, Outback vs Ascent etc.) Nor did they simply chop off some length from their 3 row crossover and fit it with two rows of seats (e.g. Passport vs Pilot, Cross Sport vs Atlas, etc.) Instead, Toyota (always looking to maximize profit and minimize development costs), simply took an existing vehicle, the Harrier built on the same platform as the RAV4 and available in international markets, dubbed it the Venza in the US, limited its engine offerings to a hybrid, and added some bells and whistles (e.g. the magic roof window.) Toyota builds excellent vehicles but where they shine even brighter is in terms of being sure each and every vehicle they sell will turn a profit. And again, that's the role of the Venza. As a midsize SUV the Venza is a rather odd duck. Much like the Outback its DNA is more wagon than a true CUV family truckster. But Americans are known to hate wagons, so like Subaru with its Outback Toyota will stoutly maintain the Venza is an SUV and absolutely NOT a wagon. So pay no attention to your lying eyes and remember it's an AWD crossover. But don't expect the Venza to offer midsize CUV interior cargo space. In fact, it doesn't offer as much cargo space as a compact RAV4 or even as much as the even smaller Mazda CX-5. But no matter. The Venza is a grocery getter not a gear hauler. And that's groceries from Safeway not from Costco. Otherwise, the Venza excels in terms of gadgets. In addition to the magic glass roof there's the camera based rear view mirror and lots of other bells and whistles. Not to mention that the Venza is a no excuses HYBRID! That's right. Save the Earth! And do it quietly. Furthermore, if your trip is short enough to bear a speed under 25 mph for a little while you can avoid burning even a cup of petrol. Take that, Chevron! All in all, with the demise of wagons and "family" sedans seemingly on the same track, the Venza is an obvious replacement for each. It's not likely to be a strong midsize SUV seller but Toyota has invested very little in bringing it to market and it will almost certainly generate a profit for dealers and the "Big T."
Happy New Year Nolan. This is nice vehicle for sure. I feel like Toyota should have used the Highlander, removed the third row, shortened the overall length. As it is, this is like an bridge between the Rav4 and the Lexus NX..
Happy new year to you too! I feel the same way. This will probably sell quite a few less than each of those but we shall see. Still a nice option for some
I guess Toyota has a look that they're going to stick with. I really don't expect Toyota to ever come up with a vehicle that looks as good as an Audi, Volvo or even a Kia. They're really good at making phenomenal cars that are not as good looking as they could be.I guess that's the long answer to your question "do you like the grill." Good lord, NO. On a lighter note, you're one of the best car reviewers on RUclips. Keep up the good work.
I've had mine switch to all ev mode when going down a hill for an extended time or a gentle slope ...that may account for my 48mpg I achieved on that drive.
If you press and hold the "Mode" button on the steering wheel, it mutes the sound system no matter the source, including carplay. Quick way to get audio turned off/muted. Thanks
There are fog light on the Harrier, which this Venza is. The Harrier already has been selling overseas, not sure why fog lights aren't added to the Venza. I'm guessing they didn't pass requirements in North America?
@@PrimeAutotainment I do, I really like my CRV but is the ex and wanted to jump to the touring. However isn't big differences between the EX and the Touring. I think that's the reason I'm considering the Venza (I had two before 2011 and 2013 model).

Quiet. I just drove this and the tire noise was so loud I had to turn radio up. It’s wearing. Terrible. I won’t put another grand into new tires paying this much for car

Hopefully, some of this design language will be used in the Camry redesign.

finally a toyota with full LED lights....FINALLY

"good looking" is more like a subjective term. So far, I like the toyota design of LC70, LC 120 Prado, 6th gen Camry, and current Venza.
I've had mine switch to all ev mode when going down a hill for an extended time or a gentle slope ...that may account for my 48mpg I achieved on that drive.
The larger screen is not worth it to me. I wish CarPlay would use the whole area.

My friend has this one. It's the same as an Lexus NX, but you get better milage and save 10k.
Great review. I do not like the super low rear blinkers- sooo small, way to low.

All that black plastic in the front really irks me lol but overall A good vehicle
I hear ya Miguel 😁
Also that ugly ass Corolla steering wheel lol 😂
Please review the bmw x4 :)
I think this would be a nice upgrade from prius. I’ll take the MPG hit if it means more comfort.
When will it come in Taiwan to sell
Wow.
You get knobs and hard buttons for the audio and climate controls on the 8 inch screen models
Thank goodness! That’s what I would go for 😬
